So, classic Eastenders starts airing on the UKTV Drama channel from tomorrow! Two episodes from noon, and they’ll also be on UKTV catchup.

Use this thread to talk about Den, Angie, Arthur, poodle perms, poor fashion choices and Ethel’s Willy.

Cindy was a gorgeous young woman though (think she says she was 26) so I think it's plausible that he got fixated with the unattainable

Anyone still watching ?

I have missed loads but watched one episode this week-

So in no particular order :

Geoff has propsed to 'Chelle ( not a romantic down-on-one-knee type . She told him her gritty past and thought she'd scared him off . )

The Jackson house was over run at a party , Natalie got accosted by some bloke , Rickay threw him out .

Roy is still trying to persue Pat Butcher m but she made Kathy go out with them on their lunch date ( Bless him, Roy didn't seem put out )

Bianca has split with Rickkkkkaaaay because he shagged Natalie (her Best Mate) and gone out clubbing with Tiffany . They picked up two blokes who basically wanted a payback for the £££s of drinks they were lavishing . Tiff went off with her bloke .
B tries to fend hers off , David comes to her rescue ,
B then makes a pass at David who has to tell her The Big News that he's Her Dad.

I'm still watching, I had about 80 episodes saved and caught up with them last week. I originally stopped watching when they went up to 3 episodes a week, so it's all new to me now! No spoilers please Grin

nevermorelenore · 19/09/2020 19:21

Some of the older episodes are on iplayer due to the break and there are some good ones! Pat and Frank being found out on firework night is a classic. Forgot how annoying Barry used to be! There was also the Max and Stacey xmas one which is one of my favourite christmas episodes.

So The Fowlers and Geoff all moseyed up to Scotland to meet Ruth's parents ......you could tell it wasn't going to go well.
Lots of minor irritations on the trip, Mark&Ruth roll up late , lots of references to "We're TeeTotal" and almost scowling at the Londeners who dared to ask for a whisky .

The house 'Chelle and Geoff were looking at was lovely .

Mark tells his future InLaws about his HIV status which didn't go down well.

x2boys · 02/10/2020 11:21

It's all rather dull at the moment I deleted a few episodes as it was so boring and didn't feel I had missed anythingHmm

gower4 · 02/10/2020 17:29

I'm still watching but skipped forward to the Scotland trip which I remember from first time around

Limer · 09/10/2020 18:15

It's all new to me now! VE Day 1995 with Peggy as the Vic's landlady! I love how they wheel out Ethel & Dr Legg just for the events. Where's Dot gone?

I'm glad Michelle didn't marry Geoff, but thought it was a weird ending for their relationship.

x2boys · 09/10/2020 19:12

Dot left about two years ago in their time ,to live with Nick and his girlfriend and her newly found grandson ,he was about 10 and Nick had forgotten to mention him to Dot Hmm

Limer · 09/10/2020 20:17

Ahhh yes I remember now x2boys Poor Dot!

Just watching today's episodes. I'm actually really gripped by the storylines, because I don't know what's going to happen next.

I had an Escort like Bianca's, but mine was an A-reg and blue.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/10/2020 12:31

I watched an old episode last night (after a street party - Queens Jubilee ? ) everyone hungover except Rickaaaay .

Dodgy rent collector and Mystery Owner who is hoiking up the prices ( not legal but this was then. And it was Phil of course)
I remember when he married Kaffy he moved her into the house that he proudly said was the biggest house in the Square . Which must've been the flats converted back to a house .
I think now Grey/Chantelles house is the biggest it's on 3 levels .

What happened in the end with Geoff ? Did he just vanish in a black cab?

x2boys · 10/10/2020 13:49

They finished in Scotland on Mark and Ruth,s wedding day ,because he thought Michelle didn't love him enough which tbf was probably true ,he's handily got a lecturers job in Scotland so he just didn't come back to London with them

Hey! Hey! I'm still watching. I've been bouncing between binge watching Classic and modern EE. GrinThen I have to rush back to catch up with what the current EE threads and you lot on here say!

I finished the first of the after lockdown break Modern EE earlier Grin

I remember Geoff and Michelle at the time! Me and my mum were "ewww!" about Geoff! I know Chelle liked older men but he wasn't exactly lithe and beautiful, was he?

Weird to think of me watching EE back then as 1995 I had my dd (first baby) that July! It was a heatwave summer. Don't remember the storylines being that year. Interesting to see the introduction of Tiff and thinking what will happen to her character!!

Hope someone writes on this thread again soon!!! Grin

tobee · 21/10/2020 05:02

Oh yeah! Also soooo dodgy about Geoff having a relationship with a student!! Barely mentioned as dodgy. There was a scene with her sitting on his lap in his university office! ShockShockShockI was at poly a few years before and sure it wouldn't have been allowed. Love how EE had Geoff listening to jazz and classical music and reading broadsheets to show he's educated Grin

x2boys · 21/10/2020 14:56

I'm still watching but it's so dull at the moment ,I think once Tiff,s storylines get going it will be better especially with the arrival of her family and the Hill,s etc .

tobee · 21/10/2020 15:21

I haven't watched it yet this week. Big shifts with some big characters leaving. New era with Peggy at the Vic. She's pretty underwhelming so far. Can't remember what happens in the next 6 months or so.

gower4 · 21/10/2020 23:25

I'm still watching! I remember watching the Debbie death episode at the time, it was so random and shocking!! Must have been the days before spoilers.
And yes, that summer was a massive heatwave.
The whole Cindy David storyline gets quite good.

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 21/10/2020 23:27

David was old to me first time around, finding him very attractive this time Grin

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 22/10/2020 14:27

Jesus, just watched the Debbie episode and bawled GrinI didn't expect that evem though I knew she died at some point.

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 01/11/2020 13:42

Me again.
Phils denim shorts. Quite the sight

thewooster · 01/11/2020 18:58

Those denim shorts...wow wow wow. Did guys used to wear shorty shorts? Can't remember that.

The last couple of episodes were really good if you can turn a deaf one to all talk of birds. Also how sleazy is Steve. First the way he talks about Bianca saying she should be offered around to the guys, then make them some food and then tries to take advantage when she's drunk. What a prince.

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 02/11/2020 19:22

I was shocked by Steve. Also Ricky really was a pain when they got there wanting to sit in watching tv.
But nothing compared to those shorts Grin
I don't remember David fancying bianca either, bold storyline

thewooster · 03/11/2020 08:54

I don't remember David fancying Bianca either. The storyline makes me feel uncomfortable and I cant wait for it to be over.

I enjoy watching Arthur. He's entertaining at times and I loved the Les's Cargo snail race. Classic!

Tunnocksmallow · 29/11/2020 20:34

Christ, Pauline was actually quite vile wasn’t she?
