So, classic Eastenders starts airing on the UKTV Drama channel from tomorrow! Two episodes from noon, and they’ll also be on UKTV catchup.

Use this thread to talk about Den, Angie, Arthur, poodle perms, poor fashion choices and Ethel’s Willy.

I've got to a point where I clearly remember watching these already , poor Pete

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/05/2020 15:03

Aunt Nellie has arrived on scene ( she's a horrible little character from what I remember)

The Chapmans are stalking Pauline ,threatening phonecalls .

Aiden and Mandy have been evited from the squat by Dickie and his underhand tactics .

x2boys · 19/05/2020 18:23

Xmas again!😂 as much as I like Xmas I would be a bit pissed off if it was every 10 weeks or so ,I see the Jackson's have arrived can we expect to see David Wick,s soon??

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/05/2020 18:40

Nigel doesn't learn does he?
Selling Glow-in-the-dark dinosaurs and Christmas knickers off Frank Butcher.
Last year he bought a box of socks ( again Frank Butcher) and found out they were all odd-so tried to dye them in Dot Cotton's bath
(Clue-didn't work)

Carol Jackson looked so young !

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/05/2020 12:26

It looks like he first episode is Christmas Day .......can I predict it will be more
"Oh" than "Ho Ho Ho"

BrennieGirl · 22/05/2020 22:32

I’d forgotten how miserable Carol was. And Robbie is a nasty little shit.

BrennieGirl · 22/05/2020 22:33

Also Frank is being very shouty and horrible.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/05/2020 19:27

Oh yes the roof leaking at Pat&Franks was just the straw breaking the camel's back.
Then David turns up "Hello Mum" , I bet he won't lend them the £500/ £2k whatever they;'ve decided to pay for repairs .

Tricky Dicky does seem to like that checked coat of his - the most ludicrous wide shoulders , he looked like a walking table Xmas Hmm

Phil was lovely back then but Evil Grant pushing his to lie to Kathy ...... Angry

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/06/2020 15:34

Tricky Dicky was well ahead of his time with his charcoal grey walls Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/06/2020 22:46

Fire at The Car Lot (insurance job)

Pat knows Carol thinks David Wicks is Bianca's Dad but told her (quite bluntly) that they had no idea who the Dad was (as she'd had 'more traffic than Blackwall Tunnel' Wink )
But she doesn't say to David or Bianca to avoid each other .
Bianca is still getting her revenge on Richard egged on my Natalie.

Nigel has wound Mark up by moving Debbie and Claire into Marks flat .
Shelley is winding Mark up about the stall

Steve tried to get back with Hattie
Della is on the Square
Aunt Nellie (predictably horrid ) is staying .

BrennieGirl · 18/06/2020 14:05

Where do Nigel and Debbie live?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/08/2020 13:47

Anyone still watching this ?

Quite a few months have gone by .
We'eve had Sharongate ......and watching it again you can see how they shoe-horned in Grant's Characer Transformation from Utter arse to Husband of the Year before he found out The Truth.
Now he's back to his obnoxious self .

Cindy and the Life Guard

Aunt Nellies husband ( ex husband) funeral . Now she's taken offence and moved to Jules house .

And ................todays episode was screened 06/12/94 ,
So by next week we'll have another Christmas in Albert Square Xmas Grin

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 21/08/2020 14:23

I've tuned out a little bit because it all feels a bit too familiar. The Sharon thing is one of the biggest things I remember, I was hooked as a teen lol.
I miss the really early episodes now

gower4 · 22/08/2020 12:49

I've started watching again, looking forward to Cindy's big storyline.

But I agree, it all feels quite recent - can't believe it's 26 years ago!!! I also really miss the early shows. I'd be happy to watch the Den and Angie years on a loop!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 23/08/2020 00:50

Does anyone know what year we are up to, please?

Haven't watched for a while and kind of lost track Confused

thewooster · 23/08/2020 09:14

The latest one was from 6 Dec 1994, but I've not watched it yet.

I'm currently watching last Monday's and it's from 15 Nov 1994. Grant has visited Phil in hospital after his op (after the beating).

I hate the way Sharon is depicted as a slag and slapper, only good for one thing and nothing is said about Phil. Sign of the times.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/08/2020 09:29

Monday is 08/12/94

Thursday 2nd Episode is Christmas Day Xmas Grin

Peggy (Barbara Windsor) is in there now defending her Phil against That Sharon

When she arrived on EE she said Peggy Mitchell was dressed like a "Walthamstow Market Princess Di" .
That black bow ponytail at the back of her bouffant hair is spot on

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 23/08/2020 12:38

Thankyou for that info.

The storyline I'm really waiting for is the Tony and Simon one.

Have either of them arrived yet?

gower4 · 23/08/2020 15:23

I think Tony and Simon are quite a bit later - maybe 1997-8?

southeastdweller · 23/08/2020 20:30

The Tony and Simon story didn't start until summer 1996.

Are they repeating every episode or just some? One year has gone by in five months!

gower4 · 23/08/2020 23:08

Every episode, but it's on twice a day every weekday I think? So 10 episodes a week = over 3 "normal" weeks

x2boys · 26/08/2020 09:48

Yes I'm still watching , Tiffany must be arriving soon? The years have slowed down a bit ,because they went to 3 episode,s a week in in 1994 I think ,.

gower4 · 26/08/2020 10:48

Yes Tiffany arrives soon I think. Also Sharon's first departure must be very soon now - she leaves before Michelle I think.
Quite enjoying rewatching the Geoff storyline!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/08/2020 20:07

Watched the Christmas Day ones but not caught up with today as still waiting to prise DH off the remote .

The Butchers and The Jacksons thinking each other was doin' Christmas .

Cindy and the over zealous LifeGuard ......and I'm pretty sure she is very flattered by the attention of David Wicks .....

x2boys · 28/08/2020 20:48

Yeah they are in a bedsit ,I didn't find that Cindy and the lifeguard storyline believable at all ,why would a fit young man be interested in a married mum of three such small children ,yeah I know affairs happen but that was ludicrous.
