Yay well done Rafa! Who are all those people on the court and what is that weird music?

JaneJeffer · 12/08/2018 23:10

Stefanos is lovely!

PrivateParkin · 12/08/2018 23:10

I like the random Mounties Grin

Fizzywinegum · 12/08/2018 23:11

Yes he’s so sweet - thank goodness the music has stopped!

Fizzywinegum · 12/08/2018 23:12

It is all very random!

PrivateParkin · 12/08/2018 23:12

Stefanos is indeed lovely Grin I've become a bit obsessed with him this week

JaneJeffer · 12/08/2018 23:13

Mrs. Rogers has come as a milk-maid!

Fizzywinegum · 12/08/2018 23:16

Grin I am also very excited about Stefanos.

JaneJeffer · 12/08/2018 23:22

I like Annabel's orange dress.

It'll be interesting to see how Andy gets on in Cincinnati.

Raahh · 13/08/2018 07:38

not surprisingly, Rafa has withdrawn from Cincinnati. Probably a good move, ahead of the US open, still a shame though. The hard courts are bad for his knees- he probably doesn't want to risk ending the season like last year by playing too much.

Hopefully Delpo will be fit enough for me to cheer on. Grin

I think that's a good move for Rafa. It's too much to play all those matches in Toronto (some of which were v tough) then do it again in Cincinnati, then straight to the US Open. 2 out of the 3 is what all the players should do (unless they get knocked out in the first round or something). Rafa said he has to look after himself and he's right.

Hopefully Stefanos doesn't knacker himself out either!

I think Murray plays Pouille in the first round of Cincinnati. Could be a tough one.

Fizzywinegum · 13/08/2018 08:52

That’s a shame about Rafa but good that he’s looking after himself.

Good luck to Murray and Delpo (if he plays).

Need to work out the time difference between here and Cincinnati.

magimedi · 13/08/2018 09:12

Good idea for Rafa.

I do wonder if Andy will ever get back to playing - hips are notorious for causing problems.

Raahh · 13/08/2018 10:08

Fizzy yes, my google history will now be full of 'time in Cincinnati' for the next weekGrin.

Confusingly- there are a lot of Cincinnatis in the US. Grin

However, it is currently just gone 5 am in Ohio (I think) Grin

Magi yes, hip problems have ended a lot of careers. In a way Murray was lucky that he got to 30 and had achieved quite a bit first. No consolation to him, of course- he was at the top of his game at the time, and probably looking at a comfortable 5 more years play at least, if he had stayed injury free.

Raahh Just copied this from BBC website:

"Former world number one Andy Murray opens his Cincinnati campaign against Frenchman Lucas Pouille on Monday from 16:00 BST, while Stan Wawrinka and Novak Djokovic are also in action."

Raahh · 13/08/2018 10:30

I think Andy is just playing it one match at a time at the moment, and not really putting too many expectations on himself.
Pouille could be a tricky opener.

I'm hoping Stan plays as well as he was doing last week- I think if he hadn't ended up against Rafa, he'd have got further.

Oh! On the ATP site, they've put the time in Cincinnati next to the rolex clock with the British time!

They didn't do that for Toronto!Grin (Would have saved me a lot of googling).

Finally got to watch back the Federer /Nadal 2008 Wimbledon documentary from last month. Quite enjoyed it. Funny to see Roger having strops when he was younger, not sure about the bleached blonde hair either and his legs were like matchsticks Grin

kazzaD66 · 13/08/2018 14:21

Just seen the story about Andy Murray and Kyrgios on the rollercoaster in Ohio Hmm

PrivateParkin · 13/08/2018 14:41

Kazza did you see the video??! It was pretty funny. But he had to take it down as filming wasn't allowed or something??!
