Did anyone watch this back in the spring?

I did. I loved it albeit the ending a bit incomplete- left open for series 2.

Why is it on again so soon? I see it's on BBC Wales again tonight. It doesn't say it's a repeat but surely it can't be series 2 already?

I watched this on BBC1 just s few months ago. I waited week yo week got the next instalment. The series was 8 weeks long.
Anyone know why they are repeating this so soon?

OP posts:

The sister was at the lake, not Evans mum.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/08/2018 20:18

Whoops. They look alike

HannahnotAgnes · 03/08/2018 22:56

They do whereas I think the dad looks totally out of place with them.

Bibesia · 04/08/2018 01:04

Couldn't believe the solicitor assistant has started draping herself on the floor as well! Do the scriptwriters have some sort of fetish for this?

The80sweregreat · 04/08/2018 05:54

Next time theres a crisis in the 80s home I might start laying around on the floor or swish my hair about ..

Superhansette · 04/08/2018 16:17

I'm at a total loss why this has been hyped up so much! I expected it to get much better after the first episode but we're now halfway through and I just couldn't care less what happens.

I'm fed up of all the "I'm sad but oh so sexy" bollocks. And while it's great there is a series where a woman hasn't been kidnapped/raped/murdered/all of the above, this is a woman who is looking for her husband and doing an extremely bad job of it. I can't believe a criminal solicitor would be so naive, nor that she wouldn't have proper childcare in place. Why do we have the vignettes of their 'perfect' life? Why not have flashbacks of all the dodgy stuff he's been doing? Hmm

HannahnotAgnes · 04/08/2018 18:17

Completely agree Super - the series had so much potential but is basically shit.

Mumshotel · 06/08/2018 13:21

I've just started watching this on catch up. I've watched 3. I like it but a few onservations:

Faith weirdly pissed herself at everything constantly.

Faith is pissed off with Evan for starting smoking, yet constantly has a glass of wine in her hand.

Why do they constantly zoom in on that black pair of heels, and why does she only have one pair.

Is it a bit like broad church the setting, the boats???

Why do they keeping making an issue of her weight when her figure is blindingly fabulous. I know its in reference to her being on mat leave, but I think it was laboured a bit.

What solicitor thinks it's appropriate to go into a cell with an offender who is also a vicar. Kick shoes off. (Close up to shoes) and sit rubbing bare legs on the bed. This was so wierd.

Also the representations by the solicitors in court are so unrealistic its silly

Apart from that tho I'm enjoying it ha. I really like the wallpaper in the kids bedroom too ha

NaiceHamble · 07/08/2018 13:37

I'm still on episode three but they're playing the detective as a bit of a panto villain, aren't they? All that sneering.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/08/2018 14:27

As said previously. I’m enjoying

Tho will we find hubby in the next three hours or is there a def series 2

I don’t want to know from those who have seen - if it has a proper ending

whenskiesaregreyRETURNS · 09/08/2018 20:51

Are we all ready for another exciting installment?? Going to try hard to pay attention this week although if there more new, random characters, I doubt it will be a success.

EmmaC78 · 09/08/2018 21:47

Losing the wil to live....

whenskiesaregreyRETURNS · 09/08/2018 22:00

Right so basically nothing happened in that episode. If I hadn't already invested 5 hours into this, I'd give up. Although I don't think I can hack another three hours Confused

Timefortea99 · 09/08/2018 22:06

I really don’t know what is going on.

Lots of overacting as per. I thought they were going to do Nigella strawberry eating but thankfully cut short.

Graphista · 09/08/2018 22:08

I've had to restart (thanks iplayer) as I'm confused as hell!

LaBelleSauvage123 · 09/08/2018 22:26

Who was the random man who got out of a car and went into a pub?

That dentist was bloody sinister.

Half way through I got bored so went and got 4 strawberries from the fridge and tried to eat them like Faith, with pouty lips and slow chewing. DH not impressed.

lou1221 · 09/08/2018 22:29

who would hand their baby over to a complete stranger?

Who would allow a weirdo dentist to inject goodness knows what into them, and then after being threatened have dental work done? Excuse the pun but you would fight tooth and nail to get out of there.

Graphista · 09/08/2018 22:40

Yea lots of unrealistic reactions there.

On the upside I now know wtf I know the widow reardon from - the commitments! Was driving me nuts!

The80sweregreat · 10/08/2018 06:00

I am just baffled by this drama!

gingina · 10/08/2018 12:32

Those poor kids - she carts them about all over the place and hands them over to all and sundry!!!
I like this but it's dragging on too much- going to stick at it to the bitter end though!!!

Fightthebear · 10/08/2018 13:34

So now poor long suffering Faith has got one extortion demand for £80k from a nasty criminal gang and another one for £120k from an entirely different criminal outfit. Plus being mugged, and burgled and threatened.

That’s a lot of crime for a small town in Camarthenshire.

This started off so promisingly but has fallen into the Brookside Trap of a wildly overwritten storyline at the expense of everything else.

Ginger1982 · 10/08/2018 14:03

For those thinking it's a bit like Broadchurch, I see that the actor that played Joe Miller plays her policeman brother in law.

Just wondering how many more eps they can drag it out for.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/08/2018 14:29

Her friend seems to chirpy. Wonder if she has anything to do with Evan missing

Still do understand the size of downstairs yet 2 bedrooms upstairs and kids share

Seems Evan owed a lot of money to one and all

So £120k drugs
£80k to garage people
£20k to dentist if she wants info

And would you really let a dentist inject you with something knowing they lied

Momo27 · 10/08/2018 15:46

Strangely compulsive, even though the manic writhing around on the floor/desk, hair tossing and moody pouting are a bit much.
Also, considering how much thought has gone into the locations, beautiful surroundings and use of colour, there are some irritating continuity issues. Faith put the baby to bed in just a nappy, then when she checked on the kids before setting off into the night, he was strangely wearing a baby gro. Similarly, she lifted him out of his high chair while he was still wearing a large and noticeable bib, and then as she carries him across the room, bib has disappeared!

Surely she would have back up childcare too from when she’s not on ML. Or are we expected to believe she’s always managed to drop the girls at school and be there in the playground at 3.15 even when working as a lawyer and being in court?? A couple with two careers like that would surely have more childcare than just an after school club! Would make sense for Faith to have a nanny or childminder. Seeing the baby bouncing around in doorways while she tries to deal with clients is just ludicrous

BitOutOfPractice · 10/08/2018 15:57

There’s so many things irritating me about this:

  1. GET YOUR BLOODY FRINGE CUT WOMAN
  1. All the ariel shots / shots from above. Do you’ve got a drone have you?
  1. All the times real life and the story are clashing / not working. Eg the house was wrecked then miraculously all back in place, even though they’ve been out all day.
  1. Many many continuity mistakes as PP has mentioned. Last night they set out for a short journey in daylight, when they arrived it was pitch black
  1. How Come they’ve got that massive house but all three children share a room?
  1. Get your bloody fringe cut!!!
