Did anyone watch this? The first episode was completely up its own arse but I think I’ll stick with it!

Anybody have any ideas what the Mum is doing keep touching her eyelashes? Does she have that condition where you pull your hair out?

It's confusing in parts, wish they would give Amy A a different hair style for the flashbacks! Got a bit puzzled by the scenes with her and the young teenager in the hospital cell. How long ago was it meant to be?

TomHardysBackpack · 25/07/2018 08:48

I agree Clawdy - I didn't realise it was a flashback until near the end.

kikashi · 25/07/2018 09:34

In the flashbacks Camille was still wearing the same type of tight jeggings as she wears in the present so it was confusing at first. They could have given her shorter hair or a different style of trouser

I think the teen room mate was Eden from the Handmaid's Tale - gosh she's had some grim scenes to act this year (but in great series).

I agree the mother is a total monster. Does she really not know that Amma goes out drinking and stays out late ?? The mother seems to hear very little stair creak usually.

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 25/07/2018 11:10

It was Eden. I knew her immediately

I couldn't work out the timeline of those scenes at all

outofmymind26 · 25/07/2018 19:08

I'm so glad someone else pointed out the muffled sound. I thought it was just my ears & having the fan on but I was really struggling to hear it!

TomHardysBackpack · 26/07/2018 08:25

I find a lot of tv shows nowadays have muffled sound. I read somewhere it depends on the type of sound recording they use? I permanently have the subtitles on now so I don't miss anything.

Habeebtea · 26/07/2018 08:40

Its sticking to the boom really well. Gillian Flynn writes flawed characters and I'm enjoying it so far.

Toyboysrus · 26/07/2018 09:15

I'm finding it very slow and boring in places but will stick with it to find out who The Baddie is. I should stick to films really I get too impatient with the meandering plot lines of series. And I agree with whoever mentioned her clothes, i hope she's brought along more undies than she did outerwear!

ElenaGreco123 · 26/07/2018 12:19

Well, the Alice / Eden scenes have been before Camille's total estrangement from her parents. (That seemed like a well-funded healthcare plan.)
Camille and Amma do not appear to know each other, so the hospital scene must have been over 10 years ago, as Amma is a teen.

HannahnotAgnes · 28/07/2018 20:55

Only part way through episode 3, but really struggling to stay interested. I want to as a pp said it would be worth it but finding it boring.

I'm assuming her step dad is the bad guy - abusive to her when she was younger & then killed those girls & her mum had an inkling but ignored it.

Pure speculation on my part (& will be most disappointed if I'm actually right!) Grin

JellyBears · 29/07/2018 15:36

I think her sister is the killer or her mother.

HannahnotAgnes · 29/07/2018 18:53

My other theory is that it's the sister - some weird sexual jealousy type thing & she's able to manipulate someone into doing the killings on her behalf!

Obviously I have no idea Grin

ElenaGreco123 · 29/07/2018 21:15

I am with Jellybears. It is about female violence.

diddl · 01/08/2018 14:14

"I think her sister is the killer or her mother."

Yup!

I think that the mother had a hand in the death of Marion & Amma is killing the young girls.

Have only watched the 1st ep though so could be way out.

It was when she was saying something to Camille about how pretty she is.

Made me think that she killed the girls as she was jealous of them for some reason-better at school/prettier/her mum liked them?

Bookridden · 01/08/2018 21:22

Surely it's the stepdad? He's too quiet. But, when Chief Vickery said to the mother that one of her daughters was dangerous, and the other one was in danger, I think it's Camille who's in danger.

TomHardysBackpack · 06/08/2018 23:02

Am I right in thinking there are only 3 episodes left? This one was so slow it was verging on pointless!

IndigoApple · 10/08/2018 21:38

Yes Tom I agree. Just watched this week's episode with DD and it's lost all momentum! I like the setting (love the house!), but storyline lacking. Hope it picks up.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 11/08/2018 04:41

It's hard reading this thread having read the book. Will be sitting on my hands so I don't spoiler. Hope the ending is filmed as dramatically.

Mrsmadevans · 11/08/2018 19:10

Binge watched the first 3 today, have to say l am really enjoying it so far. I think Gillian Flynn is such a good writer anything with her name on it must be good in my book.

Clawdy · 12/08/2018 11:08

The Calhoun Day was fascinating. Small town America.....and Adora is such a monster. When she told Camille she had never loved her, it was so distressing.

TomHardysBackpack · 12/08/2018 14:47

Hope things ramp up a bit in tomorrow's episode

ElenaGreco123 · 13/08/2018 11:24

Calhoun day was so atmospheric. Wow! Was Adora raped? The only thing she ever says about Camille's conception that she was ever so young. And Camille has Adora's maiden name.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 13/08/2018 11:33

I’m loving it. Amma is the creepiest sister ever, I’d sleep with one eye open. The mother is a monster and the step father very odd. Can’t wait for tonight’s episode.

Clawdy · 13/08/2018 15:50

Elena thought Camille had name from her mother's first marriage?
