Just seen a couple of clips of Kyrgios's press conference and have two things to add:

1. Why is he such a complete cock?
2. Could Sue Barker climb any further up his arse if she tried? Her fawning over him being an utter tool in the press conference was just embarrassing.

The towelling off after every point does seem to be a relatively recent thing I think (I am turning into Andrew Castle!)

Most players just used to have sweatbands and a towel at the change of ends - yes I am old and we’ve already mentioned about policemen looking very young these days

They are always calling Kyrgios a 'character' and 'entertaining'. I don't find swearing and racquet smashing that big or clever really.

It really winds me up. They are desperate for him to be the 'next big thing'. When he was a teenager, the excuse was his age, but he's not a kid anymore. He just acts like one. He is extremely rude and disrespectful, and I don't know why they still make allowances for him.

But be prepared for even more sycophantic fawning at Wimbledon, McEnroe loves him.

And I like some of the 'bad guys' of the sport- Safin was a bolshy sod at times, but had charisma and talent. Connors was never an angel- but he knew better than to let it affect his game.

I think the towel thing has become habit for some- though when you see how much some of them sweat, not all of them .

It's like the women and their grunting. Especially when a lot of them that do it, they aren't actually exerting that much effort. I think that's habit too. Shrieky, apparently , doesn't always do it when she is practising.

And don't get me started on Djok and his stupid celebration thingy.

Raahh it is just habit, the same as bouncing the ball 200 times before serving. I bet John Lloyd is thinking...all I had was a sweat band but I didn't even have a chair to sit down on at the changeover, when I first started....

I was disappointed not to see Lopez, again, but his match was cancelled obviously, since he was due to meet Raonic.

I'm glad Stan isn't giving up - he did ok this week , really, but he just isn't match fit. Grass is not great for recovering knees, though.

I'm annoyed I missed Jason Issacs. I loved him in Case Histories. He was just how I imagined the character in the books to be.

Jane yes same here. The only problem was they didn't give enough time to each book - there should have been more episodes!

He's often at Wimbledon as well.

As much as Kyrgios is a brat etc etc, he isnt a bad player. just a shame his attitude stinks! mind you, lots of people didnt like Mcenroe and he did alright in the end!

Heard a great interview with Jason Isaacs on the Tennis Podcast today. He was saying how he studies people as an actor, and he finds tennis players so interesting because they're "warriors" in a high-stakes game! Really good stuff. And he likes Kyrgios!
