Charlotte Salt (actress playing Sam) has been v vocal on Twitter about Sam's fate...

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 12/08/2018 09:59

The actor playing Bea is just coming to the end of a West End run in a play at the National Theatre. She is listed on Casualty’s Wikipedia page as a former cast member now, so it does look as if she’s gone for good for the time being.

purpleme12 · 12/08/2018 12:06

I know she's gone for the time being but they made it look like she's coming back after her time abroad?

SerendipityFelix · 12/08/2018 12:27

Oh stop being all sensible and referring to real life you lot Grin

I thought it was odd that Sam reappeared as a paramedic in the first place tbh, seeing as she’s a doctor with combat experience, it would have seemed more realistic if she’d become a HEMS medic or something.

spiderlight · 12/08/2018 12:50

Charlotte will be in the incredible free 24-hour crèche that looks after the children of all TV doctors and nurses.

SerendipityFelix · 12/08/2018 13:02

On Holby they used to refer to Jaq’s Emma being in the hospital nursery, so Charlotte is probably there.

morningtoncrescent62 · 12/08/2018 16:47

I've enjoyed the Dylan action in the last two episodes.

I didn't understand why it was so difficult to get help to Sam and Ian in the ambulance station. Aren't they right next door to the hospital? Surely in a life-threatening situation someone could get there quickly.

Ethan really is emotionally stunted/immature. He may be a nice enough guy but he doesn't seem to know how to handle emotions and he seems to think everything revolves around him/is due to his actions.

Ginger1982 · 12/08/2018 17:17

What was the actual point of killing her? She'd had no decent storylines since she came back, apart from shagging Jacob. Who is really going to care? Think she talked to Dylan twice in the whole time she was there. When she came back did she not say she had whistleblown at her last hospital? Could have made more of that.

Utterly pointless.

Redcrayons · 12/08/2018 17:30

Just finished watching, action packed episode. I try to steer clear of spoilers so I didn't expect Sam to die. I was a bit Hmm that she didn't notice but I suppose it's plausible that she running on adrenaline. Also why didn't Iain just wheel her into hospital, isn't it next door?

I find Ethan quite annoying. Especially As his short sight was cured when Cal died.

purpleme12 · 12/08/2018 19:25

I don't think it is next door

SerendipityFelix · 12/08/2018 23:39

It’s not far, they all walk to the same pub

spiderlight · 13/08/2018 00:06

I'm sure they've had people running from the ambulance station to the bit outside A&E and vice versa in the past. (Also why do ambulances for Holby City pull up at a different entrance entirely, even when they're emergencies??)

condepetie · 13/08/2018 16:58

That's a shocker, bit gutted really as Sam when she was a doctor was one of my favourite characters, she really hasn't done anything since coming back has she? Seems a weird character to kill off.

Agree with @zukiecat about Holby being dangerous for paramedics - didn't Curtis die falling off a building too? Fin was another one that died in the line of duty iirc.

ellesbellesxxx · 13/08/2018 19:58

Iain won’t be in trouble for leaving Mia’s house will he? He did say she passed the questions..

Purplemond · 13/08/2018 20:19

is this going to make Dylan return to drink again ? Id be happy with a main storyline for him not a repeat of Connie/Ethan/Duffy/Charlie/Robyn focused episode

SerendipityFelix · 13/08/2018 21:30

A better storyline would be how Dylan grieves for Sam and is tempted to use alcohol to cope but manages to get through without it by asking for support.

QueenofmyPrinces · 13/08/2018 21:33

Just caught up - what a brilliant episode!!!!

Ruby is really growing on me though I do worry hope she will cope with the guilt of leaving Mia behind even though she wasn’t given much choice in the matter.

Surely this is going to lead to Ian having a huge breakdown of some sort due to the guilt of Mia and then Sam dying as a result of the accident.

I’m also wondering where Eddie disappeared to.

Can not wait until next weeks episode!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 13/08/2018 21:40

I don’t think Iain will get blamed for leaving Mia - she did not present as being in any immediate danger in that he asked all the right questions and she passed and on the other hand, they had an actual genuine emergency - Alicia bleeding out - to attend to. But I think he will blame himself, however. The trouble is, Mia did need help but the paramedics weren’t the right people to provide it.

I too wonder what has happened to Eddie. Did Iain have chance to report the incident to the police before the accident, or did he plan to do it once he’d got Alicia back to the hospital (and thus wouldn’t have got round to it, given what happened)? Has he been arrested or is he in the wind?

Guienne · 13/08/2018 23:10

What's happened to Josh? He reappeared for a bit only to disappear gain, I can't remember why.

purpleme12 · 13/08/2018 23:14

I don't think there was any explanation or reason was there

spiderlight · 14/08/2018 10:23

I think Josh was only back for the 30th anniversary period. It was implied that he was in some sort of training role now but he conveniently turned up for a bit because he's one of the original characters.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 14/08/2018 11:04

OMG, I was watching The Musketeers on iplayer and have just realised that Charlotte Salt played Aramis’s unfortunate mistress in Series 2. I say unfortunate - but she got to kiss the gorgeous Santiago Cabrera. Envy

Spoiler alert:

her character died horribly in that too. She does good death scenes.

condepetie · 14/08/2018 11:41

I didn't know until now that Charlotte Salt is actually married to the actor who played Tom Kent! Would be good if he turned up in the wake of all this, they never talked at all about what happened between them.

StripySocksAndDocs · 14/08/2018 13:31

Josh is actually waiting for roadside recovery on a country road, as his ancient ambulance broke down.

Been reading spoilers and it looks like Dylan will finally be getting some action.
