Ooohhh base is so annoying 😡

Queenofthedrivensnow · 05/01/2019 22:35

What's the combat injury???

Karting1967 · 05/01/2019 22:43

Just when you thought Charlie’s acting couldn’t get any worse.

RedForShort · 05/01/2019 22:50

Didn't quite understand that ex-solider injury. I'm guessing it was a groin injury. But it was suggested (by Iain) it was a combat injury. So why was it infected now like it wasn't that long ago, but it seemed like he had worked in the call centre a while.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 05/01/2019 23:22

@RedForShort I got the point it was affecting his man bits but was it affected by the fight? I'm still perplexed

RedForShort · 05/01/2019 23:44

It didn't make any sense did it?

Guess the fight caused the infected wound to bleed. But why did he have a infected wound from combat if he'd been out of the army ages? I mean if he'd been infected for years surely things would have got bad earlier.

Why was it so vaugue in saying what had happened. Is it impossible to mention male genitals on tv or something?

sushisuperstar · 06/01/2019 03:53

I'm guessing he lost a testicle.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/01/2019 09:31

I spent the entire episode waiting for Elle's white top to be ruined. If I wore anything like that it would be wrecked by 10am and I work at a desk!

QueenofmyPrinces · 06/01/2019 11:12

Oh my God, Charlie and Duffy’s acting was diabolical!!!! Casualty are going to have to do an episode that involves a fire or a bomb or an earthquake or something that gives them an open door to killing their characters off.

Ellie REALLY annoyed me last night, as did Robin.

And as for that student nurse Jade.... the way she spoke to Louise was ridiculous. There’s absolutely no way a nursing student would have spoken to one of the Sisters like that. She’s a really, really annoying character.

I reckon the army man had a penis injury....I don’t think he’d feel so distraught or embarrassed if he’d only lost a testicle because lots of men only have one testicle, and you can also get prosthetic ones etc etc.

Ian was really annoying last night too.

A lot of rye characters annoyed me last night if you hadn’t guessed Grin

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/01/2019 11:14

Duffy's 'heartbroken' acting made her look like she had a heavy cold. Also she had her cardigan of sorrow on.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 06/01/2019 13:13

Love the cardigan of sorrow.

The nurse, Jade, really gets on my nerves. She is so unprofessional it's beyond belief.

HettySunshine · 06/01/2019 15:51

I'm so nostalgic for the Zoe and Max days. I think I'm only watching in the hope it'll suddenly get good again.

I fear I'm waiting vain.

Karting1967 · 06/01/2019 15:55

Agreed, Ian was beyond annoying. Yes we get it, you’re traumatised/got a massive chip on your shoulder. No-one cares!

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/01/2019 15:58

I assume his mate will be brought in with an overdose after going back to the drugs and Ian will be wracked with even more guilt.

sushisuperstar · 06/01/2019 17:21

Yes for me base Iain and Duffy won the annoying awards for this week 🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2019 19:43

Agree no way jade would speak to sister like that

Didn’t understand the bleeding down the leg and from where

Assume Ian just wanted to get beaten up so could feel pain

Gay nurse from. EASTENDERS - once the man he is seeing finds out Robyn’s daughter isn’t his - he will dump him

But a good episode

Karting1967 · 13/01/2019 03:44

Didn’t really understand what Alicia’s problem with Ethan was. She’s such a misery and he must be walking on egg shells.

JustDanceAddict · 13/01/2019 09:00

Last nights with the baby really annoyed me. If they though the mother had sepsis they would have checked the baby too at birth and given her treatment.
When I gave birth I had a temp and they whisked my baby away pretty sharpish for tests. They were very cautious.

MrsBosh · 13/01/2019 12:20

Last night was crap. They could have done loads more with the boy being drugged to lose weight storyline. He was fab!
Robyn and Louise would not have gossiped like that - so unprofessional.
The sepsis mum story was a bit dull. More backstory would have been good. The birth was hilarious - few 'pushes!' from Duffy voila here's your 8mo. Then Duffy is some kind of midwife heroine...
Ugh, I normally like Alicia but she was horrid to Ethan. He is her senior so she should have listened! Also find it hard to believe that noone from paeds could come down in an emergency like that or an obs reg for the delivery Hmm

RedForShort · 13/01/2019 17:36

Just watched. Didn't find it too bad, all a bit limp though; no proper event they just kind of peter out (if that makes sense).

QueenofmyPrinces · 14/01/2019 09:06

Just watched it and for all the reasons mentioned in the above few posts the episode was pretty poor.

I don’t understand how such a show can get things so wrong in terms of portrayal of medicines and treatments etc?! Do they not have real life A&E Consultants or doctor’s helping them with scripts? It baffles me.

I’m now also panicked that I’ve got dementia if forgetting one word leads to that diagnosis because I forget stuff all rre time Grin

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 14/01/2019 12:39

@QueenofmyPrinces I work in a Hospital and I clearly remember a Consultant being approached by Holby production team about details of a highly specialised operation he performed as they wanted to get the details correct. He was acknowledged on the credits. The irony being that Joe Bloggs on the street wouldn't have had a clue if it was correct or not!

Whilst I think most people would know a woman with no fetal movements in the ambulance and then later saying for 2 days would have baby monitored more closely than a quick ultrasound scan!!

Isitmybathtimeyet · 14/01/2019 14:39

I had also forgotten that third word and I'd seen it on screen 10 seconds earlier.

It all felt totally implausible. And no NHS staff would be shocked by the idea of a non-resident not being eligible for free treatment, especially in A&E. It happens every day.

Redglitter · 14/01/2019 14:42

Ive not seen Saturdays episode yet but saw trailers online about Duffy coming to terms with her diagnosis. What diagnosis? Didnt she basically google things and decide she had dementia.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 14/01/2019 14:51

She had a memory assessment at the end of this episode and we saw her forget a word, and the doctor looking a bit worried.
