Good God... how did they win best soap? The best soap is Molten Brown. Fact. (Lime and Patchouli, specifically!) What with dozy Rosie, booed Jude and airy-fairy Rosemary... think we'll all be reaching for the remote control by the time Jude has emerged from his kennel!

I'm sure Grandpa and Auntie Carla would step in to look after her interests! Grin

ellenanora5 · 21/06/2018 13:29

Thanks kikashi, I remember now, they have too many storylines going on at the same time it's hard to keep up.

Eastie77 · 21/06/2018 13:36

Yes Peter is looking good again after appearing a bit rough for a while. Amazing what getting rid of Toyah can do for a man!

Honeyroar · 21/06/2018 16:00

Peter is c good looking, but only 4' tall!

Carla is getting on my nerves as a character since she came back. She either sleeps with people or screams venom at them, nothing else. She can go back down South for me.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 21/06/2018 20:25

Gaaaah! I hate all the Connors right now. Especially venomous Kate. It's one of those storylines that makes me so angry.

Thesearmsofmine · 21/06/2018 20:29

I can’t stand Kate. I thought Jenny was great telling Johnny not to fight for Susie. Adam is a good egg.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 21/06/2018 20:33

Well a slimy good egg, but I imagine he'll save Eva.
H God not this again.

Clionba · 21/06/2018 20:40

Jenny has been lovely, kind, thoughtful and supportive. Poor woman.
Michelle is a bit of a bitch!!

zukiecat · 21/06/2018 20:41

Michelle - What a cow!

That was uncalled for

Poor Eva

cloudyweewee · 21/06/2018 20:49

If I were Leanne, I'd be putting the flags out now that little shit Simon has pissed off.

Hygge · 21/06/2018 21:07

I can't believe that Carla is involving herself in this custody nonsense.

I knew they would drag Jenny into this as 'useful' and it's awful that they will use her like this.

Kate and Michelle are just nasty cows, twisting the knife into Eva, and Johnny himself is disgusting using Jenny, completely callous to play with her emotions, knowing he doesn't want her, knowing he's cheated, knowing he will leave her once he has the baby.

I kind of want Alya to keep the factory now, but I doubt it will happen.

Kayla taking revenge on Bethany and Craig is awful too. I wonder what's going to happen from this?

clearysclock · 21/06/2018 21:21

Simon is painful to watch. Kate & Michelle are both nasty pieces of work. Jenny is the only one with sense, Johnny doesn't deserve her.
The factory carry on is beyond ridiculous. The scripts tonight were like something a child would have written.

Mc180768 · 21/06/2018 22:13

Oh. Dear. Jenny

This whole storyline is poorly researched.

Jenny's background in kidnapping Jack and her mental health at that time IRL would pose a risk. Particularly as she was so sensible going for Susie.

Johnny has MS so his long-term health will bring some questions or at least should in child & family assessments. Carla - she's not the most stable person, historically.

Eva and Toyahs plot is one that SW would have to question and that would bring mums mental health into play.

Can you imagine this in real time? The assessments alone would need hours of unpicking in terms of historic events and the balance of probabilities.

The best hope for Susie is Adam.

Sarah-Louise I cannot take seriously as Bethany's mother. But Bethany's actor is turning out to be a cracking actress.

Maria's face. Grin

Deadringer · 21/06/2018 22:49

Jenny was a voice of reason; those Connors are just awful, it's a pity because Johnny used to be quite nice and he was fond of Eva. And since when did that flat have 3 bedrooms, it's above the salon isn't it and that is tiny. I rather enjoyed the P.A. nonsense.

Tractorprincess · 21/06/2018 22:56

I absolutely detest the Connors.

Johnny is a hideous creature of a man, I wish Jenny would run for the hills.

Carla, spent her life shagging everyone's husband, drink problem, ran over Leanne's mum while Pedrinho driving, doesn't even like babies, now thinks she can preach to everybody else.

Michelle, annoying little twerp, can't act, spiteful cow.

Kate, can't act, another annoying spiteful cowbag, sick of her constant shaky voice. They need to just get rid of her.

Jenny is the only sane one out of the lot of them and she's a good actress too.

I hope Eva and Adam run off into the sunset.

Mc180768 · 22/06/2018 08:49

Agree Jenny has turned into a sensible woman. She's like a young Rita.

I have always enjoyed Carla as a character and I like that she still looks out for Simon the shit.

Michelle's finest moment was when she gave birth to Roari. Since then, she's been awful although she does do being a nasty cow quite well.

Isn't it awful that the worst people against Eva now are mothers themselves? Leanne, Michelle?

I feel for Eva. She's in turmoil. I so want her to get with Adam.

Tractorprincess · 22/06/2018 09:25

I really feel sorry for Eva, I think the baby storyline was ridiculous, but I'm glad Eva had the baby back and the didn't drag it out until the baby was 1 year old.

How many mothers have post natal depression and think they don't want their babies etc? You'd think people, at least Leanne would be concerned for Eva's state of mind, not just calling her an evil scum etc.

redshoeblueshoe · 22/06/2018 10:53

The Connors and the Barlows have shown their true colours.
The writers have shown theirs.
No decent solicitor would have given Johnny the time of day. Grandparents do not have rights
and Johnnys grounds for custody ?
FFS I know teenagers who could write better stuff than this

kikashi · 22/06/2018 11:07

The Sarah/Alyah "comedy" was just too ridiculous for words.Michelle and the other Connors are nasty pieces of work. Maria has lived in the flat at a greatly reduced rent for years (have Bev, Kirk, Sinead, Craig etc not helped out) and the flat was kept for her whilst in prison - Audrey has always been very kind to Maria. Maria could have saved to start up on her own - but hasn't. Why does Maria have no money did she not inherit Liam's money/share of the factory when he died?

Frillyfarmer · 22/06/2018 11:09

I really hoped they wouldn’t introduce a poorly researched custody battle but how predictable that they have - completely implausible and Michelle and Kate are just nasty bitches.

I’d love for an accurate legal challenge to the will fronted by baby Susie, but I feel like this story is being lined up to engineer Eva fleeing the street, with Baby’s susie, with Adams help and potentially with Adam, to some twee cottage in Scotland never to be seen again - until baby Susie reappears as some badly cast slapped arse teenager challenging the knicker factory empire having proved paternity.

Conclusion, even the outrageous custody story was guessed - can you writers please come up with some original, engaging storylines?

MrsScrubbingbrush · 22/06/2018 12:34

Perhaps Eva could contest the Will on Susie's behalf and win. The factory would then be held in trust for Susie with Eva as executor (or whatever the correct term is).

Eva would then get the Connors to drop their ridiculous custody battle in return for them running the factory on Susie's behalf until she18.

Eva, Adam & Susie could then all live happily ever after together somewhere.

augustusglupe · 22/06/2018 12:41

I like Jenny too, I love how her character has developed. Agree she’s like a young Rita. She’s far to good for Johnny.
Also agree that Michelle plays the spiteful bitch part a little too well Hmm
And if I were Leanne i’d be popping the Champers at Simon announcing he was moving out!!

Mc180768 · 22/06/2018 12:50

Yep. Poorly researched custody story is just what the show needs.

It could have been done so differently. The giving up of the baby should've had children's services involved at least. The show has a powerful following and given the current situation of children's services, a thoroughly researched angle would have made good viewing. (Despite the fact the storyline with Eva giving the baby to Toyah was utterly ridiculous)

It's a case of rich Connors fighting a distraught mother. I find this something to hold onto in how it pans out. Willing Eva to be the one that 'wins' and have Adam adopt the baby.

Maria has had a good run and a rent review is long overdue. A 3-bed flat for £600 is not too greedy. She could charge Beth, Kirkie and Craig as all working. I'd say it's fair.

ChevalierTialys · 22/06/2018 13:08

£600 for a 3 bed flat! God I'd love to live in the North!

Stopclimbingbob · 22/06/2018 14:39

I agree that the baby Susie story is ridiculous. However, like pp, I feel for Eva and really want the Connors to leave her alone. Eva did not put Susie in danger at any point. She gave her to two people she believed would love her and take very good care of her.

Jenny is turning into a fantastic character. She is showing some of the same qualities that she did in Classic Corrie, loyalty, sensitivity and kindness.

I hope that Craig sees through Kayla quickly.
