Good God... how did they win best soap? The best soap is Molten Brown. Fact. (Lime and Patchouli, specifically!) What with dozy Rosie, booed Jude and airy-fairy Rosemary... think we'll all be reaching for the remote control by the time Jude has emerged from his kennel!

I officially love Henry! Grin

I can’t wait to see Gemma running the pub. Bring it on. “You! With your frog thrown at a window face- yer baaahhd! Get outa my pub!”

Grin
Honeyroar · 18/07/2018 21:56

Lol, it will be fun!

Hygge · 18/07/2018 22:01

Gemma and Henry running the Rovers will be so much better than miserable Toyah and Leanne with the bad smell under her nose running the Rovers.

Clawdy · 18/07/2018 22:30

Hate seeing Jenny sticking by the hateful Johnny. Hope he gets a prison sentence, but bet the writers don't want him to leave.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 18/07/2018 22:43

I kind of get the feeling this was all written so they could write Johnny out. He’s just turned so awful and there really is no escaping prison for him. Surely?

redshoeblueshoe · 18/07/2018 23:20

Gemma and Henry running The Rovers Star Star Star
and Gin Gin Gin
It's going to be amazing Grin Grin Grin

drearydeardre · 19/07/2018 07:02

please not the awful Gemma and the ridiculous Henry running the pub - she grates on my nerves and the relationship between them is absolutely unrealistic. Bette and Alec, Liz and Steve - they are the stuff good landlords are made of. The day of 'rich man marries a loud-mouthed working class girl' are long gone.
What I do not understand is why Eva and the baby (who is how old now - 3 months?) were not close together all the time - I am sure most of us remember when we had a small baby - one didn't leave them downstairs, find the time to dress up with makeup immaculate, or say 'pigging' all the time but they were kept near and held as an extension of oneself.
Also her acting was atrocious as a worried mother. Although the script must make some of the actors wince Hmm

KlutzyDraconequus · 19/07/2018 08:07

What I do not understand is why Eva and the baby (who is how old now - 3 months?) were not close together all the time

She'd left her downstairs with Leanne whist she got some sleep because she was exhausted.

drearydeardre · 19/07/2018 08:29

so leanne who has her own child does she not (who is never seen -what was his name?) was watching both children. I notice Eva always has time to dress nicely and full make-up. Yes I know it is not RL but the hard done by single mum (I have been one) who over-emotes and was prepared to give her child away (something most of use in the similar situation would never, ever do) and manipulates everybody else is not a sympathetic character at all. Just IMO
I have far more sympathy for the well-acted Jenny character who is trying to keep it all together.

HappydaysArehere · 19/07/2018 08:50

Well here we go again. This week the two parters on Monday, Thursday and Friday are interrupted not just by a single half hour break but a great leap of an hour and a half in between, as if desperate that you might be persuaded to,watch some kids shrieking away. The timing might also be a spoiler for those deciding that Last Picnic at Hanging Rock might be preferable. Why not Corrie from 7.30 to 8.30 and the singing after? No, let’s use Corrie viewers who are patient, long suffering and willing to be jerked around any old how and promote another third rate effort. I just gave up.

woodhill · 19/07/2018 09:07

Yes Eva wearing bright pink dry clean only jacket on sofa. No worries about dribbling and baby sick?

redshoeblueshoe · 19/07/2018 10:12

HappyDays - a bit ironic isn't it that it was in the papers yesterday saying that the soaps are losing viewers, and the TV companies don't understand why.

Hey TV Executives - stop treating viewers like shit.
Remember people's back stories
And stop trying to squash too many stories into every piggin episode

Spam88 · 19/07/2018 10:17

I frequently left my baby downstairs with other family members so I could get some sleep. Didn't realise that made me a shit mum 🤔 ah well, doesn't seem to have done her any harm. Leanne's son was with Steve.

Gemma and Henry should be fun in the rovers.

Honeyroar · 19/07/2018 10:42

It bugs me a bit that within half an hour (or so it felt!) of leaving Gemma in the restaurant he's back after having disowned his fiancée, fallen out with his family (and therefore lost his money?) and arranged to buy a pub (what with?).

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 19/07/2018 10:46

Eva’s outfit looked really uncomfortable yesterday. I just wanted her to take off that jacket and let her shoulders relax.

drearydeardre · 19/07/2018 12:34

spam
no-one is personalising it towards you - I made the comment about the writer for goodness sake.
She (that is the fictional Eva) left her baby downstairs with someone who did not watch the baby but left her alone and did not notice a man entering and running off with said baby and bottles of formula through an open door Shock
it was a totally unrealistic situation - especially as I assume (although he was never seen) Leanne was also minding Oliver (remembered his name)

Spam88 · 19/07/2018 12:41

I am quite impressed at Johnny's apparently ninja-like abilities, to get the baby and all her stuff without waking anyone... I suppose that's why they were all really overemphasising how tired they were.

kikashi · 19/07/2018 13:33

Oliver was at Steve's. How did Johnny get into the presumably locked pub? did he have Aiden's keys or Liz's? Why would he have assumed he could snatch Suzie at that time?

CaliforniaLoove · 19/07/2018 13:35

Haven't caught up yet, has Henry actually bought Gemma the Rovers??!

Deadringer · 19/07/2018 13:54

Oliver was supposed to be at Steve's, though there wasn't sight nor sound of him there. We saw lots of Steve and Liz and no sign of him, perhaps he has been kidnapped too?

kikashi · 19/07/2018 14:51

Sorry for my questions didn't realise Corrie was on at 9.30 last night so have missed an episode.

Clawdy · 19/07/2018 15:50

Liz's keys were in her bag and Johnny took them.

Optimist1 · 19/07/2018 18:47

What are all those Connors and Connors-in-law living on? Michelle is partner in a struggling bistro (with debts to repay, IIRC) and Kate is a part time waitress in Speed Dahl. Can't see those two incomes keeping Johnnie, Jenny and Carla in the style to which they're accustomed!

Honeyroar · 19/07/2018 18:55

They must be spending thousands on lawyers- fighting for the factory and Suzy.

kikashi · 19/07/2018 22:13

Does Johnny rent Carlas's old flat or did he buy it of her? IIRC the cheque from the insurer's for the factory was £79k so not exactly enough for the life of luxury in Spain they were boasting about.

No one every mentions the lawyer's fees (and how ruinous they would be)
