Good God... how did they win best soap? The best soap is Molten Brown. Fact. (Lime and Patchouli, specifically!) What with dozy Rosie, booed Jude and airy-fairy Rosemary... think we'll all be reaching for the remote control by the time Jude has emerged from his kennel!

Jenny must surely leave now. He's not even trotting out the usual DV guff about loving her really - he's made it plain he hates her. I just want to see an unpleasant end for him, but bet he ends up weeping in Liz's arms.Angry

Mc180768 · 17/07/2018 11:45

As a PP has already stated, I hope Jenny goes home to Rita. Jenny has had such sadness and loss in her life, Rita has been her only stability.

Although, I don't think that Liz will be so silly as to take Johnny in. Liz has made some mistakes with men, but she seems to be of age and wisdom now.

Johnny is hardly dad of the year. His treatment of Aidan when he ostracised him from the family was punitive. It will crash home soon. It always does.

Honeyroar · 17/07/2018 11:57

He's certainly not fit to raise a baby. Even with the three hags helping. All that family know is screaming and threatening people. If Jenny leaves, surely they would automatically lose he case anyway (not that there would be a case in real life, the grandparent wouldn't have a leg to stand on, my friend went through it when his wife died, the grandparents lost).

Eastie77 · 17/07/2018 12:38

The 3 hags would be of no use or help to Johnny at all. I don't know why Eva is stressing out and bothering with mediation.

Carla by her own admission does not like babies. Michelle took the wrong baby home from the hospital, didn't notice for well over a decade, made no attempt to reconnect with her bio son when she found out (I'm amazed the writers remembered Ali existed) and the son she actually raised has turned out so well said no-one. Kate is just ridiculous and pathetic. Her 'grieving' for Aiden pushed her acting skills far beyond their capabilities.

VanGoghsDog · 17/07/2018 14:48

Go Eva!

That's all.

Mc180768 · 17/07/2018 15:26

Yes. GP Eva.

Also the homelessness story with Sean is poorly researched. He had a winter nobble cap on. While it's relevant in today's society, the story is canned. It's not believable.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 17/07/2018 16:53

Tim is a great character, played well. That's the sort of thing Corrie needs more of (and used to have). Then it becomes more about relationships than "issues".

Totally agree. Tim is what Corrie should be like. Proper characters with consistent personalities rather than just faces reacting to whatever dramatic storyline they’ve been given this week.

Wrt Eva, why on earth doesn’t she make the glaringly obvious point (to the mediator) that Johnny just wants susie to replace Aidan? Because he fucked up with Aidan and wants to try again through susie to put that right. All it takes is for Eva to plant the seed and the mediator will realise what it’s all about.

ajandjjmum · 17/07/2018 17:07

It seemed well below the belt to mention about Jenny kidnapping Jack - but as a mother fighting for her baby, I'd have done just what Eva did.

Clever ending of the final episode last night.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 17/07/2018 17:31

The whole thing was below the belt. Johnny lowered the bar by doing what he has done. I don’t blame Eva one bit. They’re trying to take her baby. You do what you have to.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 17/07/2018 20:36

I really hope Toyah has not taken baby Susie and It’s Johnny who has kidnapped her, just so it shows Liz and the three hags how unstable he has become since the death of Aiden.

Hygge · 17/07/2018 20:38

I think it will be Johnny who has taken her.

Toyah may get the blame at first though.

Clawdy · 18/07/2018 12:30

Let's hope it's Johnny and everyone turns against him.

redshoeblueshoe · 18/07/2018 20:08

Yay Henry's back

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 18/07/2018 20:20

How awkward did Johnny look holding susie and that bottle?

cloudyweewee · 18/07/2018 20:46

I know! Suzie's little face!!

HettySunshine · 18/07/2018 20:50

'Her with a face like a frog thrown at a window'

Haha, love Gemma!

Honeyroar · 18/07/2018 21:09

Yes that was a fab line!

Honeyroar · 18/07/2018 21:10

Why was Jenny defending Johnny? He was wild when he walked out on her that night.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 18/07/2018 21:31

Loved that line from Gemma! Grin

Hygge · 18/07/2018 21:32

I really hope Gemma and Henry get back together.

Chesney is just pointless, and Gemma is great. I think she and Henry would be a lot better and much more fun and interesting.

They don't want to ruin a great character like Gemma by having Chesney leach onto her and use her for his new childcare sap like Sinead.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 18/07/2018 21:36

Totally agree hygge. Gemma and Henry are a fun couple.

Honeyroar · 18/07/2018 21:44

But Chesney and Gemma used to have a laugh in the shop pre Sinead days.

Hygge · 18/07/2018 21:45

He's going to buy her a vodka distillery isn't he?

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 18/07/2018 21:47

Looks that way. Imagine Gemma with free run of a distillery! Grin

Hygge · 18/07/2018 21:52

They might have had a laugh in the past but they aren't suited and she never fancied him before.

Gemma with someone who believes in her could be even more amazing.

Gemma with Chesney will just spend her life babysitting Joseph.

He's bought her the Rovers!
