Noticed that the other thread is nearly full, but I don’t know how to set up the link thing on the other one. Help!

PS Karl and Susan Grin
PPS Man with hard stares and whip snapping glasses removal technique is so totally unbelievable.

Let me just state that I know it's not real but I have real issues with the school....

  • surely the school should have organised 'careers day's more than a few days in advance and not have to rely on people who live on the same street Hmm
  • surely at 17 or 18 the school should be giving more targeted career advice rather than a random and vague talk to a class Hmm
  • why was Bea (who's only connection with the school is that her sister is a teacher) allowed to wander into the school and have a random conversation with a student in school time about her love life - is there no security? No safeguarding? Hmm
  • finally how bad was Elly at classroom management? She had no control at all and yet we're led to believe that she is assistant head material Hmm

And yet I still watch....

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 19/06/2018 23:18

Scrappy I think that they expect us to have suspended disbelief at the point where Elly is allowed to teach in a school, so the fact that she’s unable to keep order in a class of 12 really quite grown up children is supposed to go unnoticed.

Can’t imagine what ‘careers day’ would have been like at my school if the teachers all just got their mates in.

I also wondered how Bea can just wander into school unquestioned.

Mind you, all prisoners in TV programmes can magically receive incoming phone calls (not on their secret hidden mobile phone) from family members whenever they like which is not massively reflective of actual prison like as far as I’m aware.

I was also thinking how lax their school security is, it's not just Bea either

MiddleClassProblem · 20/06/2018 00:33

They had Brad as a teacher. Nothing more really needs to be said.

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 21/06/2018 12:49

Yesterday I got off the tube at my local stop and there was a woman waiting to board the train is just left who looked so much like Sonya that I nearly said ‘Hello!’ before realising where I thought I knew her from. As it was I just stood there and stared at her with my mouth open.

Haven’t seen yesterday’s ep. Is it more Mishti bleating on? If so I might not bother...

Middle in the safeguarding manual for fictional Australian schools the first page is probably just a picture of Brad. Then you turn the page and there’s a picture of Kate in her sparkly bowler hat.

MiddleClassProblem · 21/06/2018 15:16

How did you know it wasn’t Sonya?

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 21/06/2018 18:30

Well, she didn’t look exactly the same, and also I don’t live in an area of London that I can imagine Australian soap stars holidaying in!

I’m sure Joe Mangel lives in Croydon and runs a guest house for visiting cast members, old and new.

BlackandWhitePostcards · 22/06/2018 23:54

Are piper and Leo dating in real life? There’s some photos on their Instagram accounts that have got me wondering.. though they could just be friends..

SleepingStandingUp · 23/06/2018 00:00

I thought the same thing!

They must be

MiddleClassProblem · 23/06/2018 00:54

They are

MiddleClassProblem · 23/06/2018 00:55

I think that’s why she cut her hair 👯‍♂️

KatieKat88 · 25/06/2018 20:57

So is Cassius the underliner? And he has an aversion to the hot tub where Hamish met his demise... Hmm

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 25/06/2018 21:28

And are Gary and Amy going to be a thing? Are we supposed to forget she’s already been in a relationship with his son?

Leo and Piper would be interesting...

Smidge001 · 25/06/2018 22:27

Oh god, yes! I'd forgotten about the Amy and Kyle lumberjack shirt duo.

Clawdy · 25/06/2018 22:55

I'd quite like to see Piper and Cassius together. Unless the lovely Tyler returns, which doesn't seem to be on the cards.

MiddleClassProblem · 25/06/2018 23:41

It should be Amy and Mark, Ellie and Leo (despite me enjoying their platonic friendship I think they would enjoy the same lifestyle), Gary annnnnd... nope, not got it. Maybe the parent of a random adopted child and they bond over how they were crap parents in the early years.

Typer forever.

Xanthe and Cassius.

Mishti and a wall of wet paint.

Clawdy · 26/06/2018 07:43

Paul and Therese too.

SleepingStandingUp · 26/06/2018 08:28

Yeah Ellie liked him initially didn't she and we snogged his sister instead??

What about Xanthe and Ned, Piper and Cassius until Tyler returns...

Clawdy · 26/06/2018 08:53

Ned seems a bit old for Xanthe. I see him with Ellie.

SleepingStandingUp · 26/06/2018 08:55

He's been there, done that though. Ellie needs a bloke she hasn't already dated. I agree re Leo

BlackandWhitePostcards · 26/06/2018 11:49

I know she’s gone now but I could really see Gary and Steph.

Lovewineandchocs · 26/06/2018 13:43

sleeping I could see Ned and Xanthe too. He’s only 5 years older. I never really liked him with Elly-she’s 9 years older than him, but it wasn’t the age difference, I just thought they were really awkward together.
I think we are definitely moving towards Mark and Elly, hopefully he treats her better than just a pump n dump this time Grin Piper and Cassius, definitely happening I think-bit boring that he’s the Mystery Underliner though!
