Just seen this is back. Anyone else watching?

OP posts:
Crinkle77 · 27/06/2018 14:39

Ellle it's the same with C3PO and R2D2 in Star Wars. They are not human yet you feel something towards them.

Crinkle77 · 27/06/2018 14:42

italian there has also been talk of robots doing care work. It has echoes of the synth nurse that was sent to take care of George in series 1. My god she was sinister.

Italiangreyhound · 27/06/2018 17:03

@Crinkle77 'Soon we will become the brain dead ones.' I tend to agree with you!

@Ellle 'I wouldn't have chosen the boy or the old man. I would have chosen Anatole. Shame he wasn't one of the options on who should be killed.' Bloody brilliant answer. Grin

'I am so disappointed that he turned out to be the way he is.' Yes, I agree, quite fancied him!

I think how things look is actually vital. But that is because most of us see people as friends. In the movie I, Robot, Dr. Susan Calvin appears afraid of humans and trusting of robots. It's interesting.

Crinkle77 · 28/06/2018 21:59

Ooh how exciting. Odi is back sort of.

Italiangreyhound · 29/06/2018 09:30

Ian't Nyska a bloody donut!

MargoLovebutter · 29/06/2018 12:00

Odi is back - looking a bit hot & with blue eyes!!!!! What do blue eyes mean?

Crinkle77 · 29/06/2018 13:53

Anyone else think the basswood plan was a bit weak. How do they know that all the synths would be charging at the same time so how will they know when to switch the electricity supply on and off. Also couldn't they go and charge elsewhere and hideout places? Then you have got rogue synths like Niska who aren't living in the camps and who seems to stroll round and people don't notice she isn't a synth? What about the synth sympathisers who might be prepared to hide people? I know that they said the other synths would be finished off by vigilantes but it's not a very robust plan. Surely there will be those that slip through the net?

MargoLovebutter · 29/06/2018 14:20

Crinkle agree, very weak plan. Also, why the hell haven't those clever synths at the camp place built some solar panels for charging?????? The electricity has been dodgy for ages

Italiangreyhound · 29/06/2018 15:59

@Crinkle77 I thought it was quite a clever plan. They must charge. They can't reproduce or live forever so they would 'die out' in the UK.

But in Sweden they are attempting integration so what would that mean?

Crinkle77 · 29/06/2018 16:03

Margo of course can't believe they haven't thought of it.

Italian I just thought there were a few holes and doesn't gurantee that they will kill them all.

Italiangreyhound · 29/06/2018 16:12

@Crinkle77 we don't want them all killed! We want a season 4.

Crinkle77 · 29/06/2018 16:21

Well yes that is true and I don't want them all to die. I have grown attached to some of them. Still love little Sam and I always loved Odi. Am glad he is back even if it's not in his past form.

Italiangreyhound · 29/06/2018 16:43

What I'd going to be up with Odi?

I have my suspicions!

Crinkle77 · 29/06/2018 16:57

Well you're right. You don't know who to trust. I had my suspicions all along about Anatole but i want new Odi to be a goody.

JustLikeBefore · 29/06/2018 20:08

odi is back!

But I can't remember what happened to him? was he just sent out to make his way in the world?

Ellle · 29/06/2018 20:24

I think Matty looked for his discarded body last season and used him to experiment on the conscious code with the improvements she added to it. Odi was the first one to become conscious with the code that Matty had in her computer. Then, by the end of the season she uploaded the code on the internet to save Mia because she already knew it had worked with Odi.

Last thing I remember with Odi is that he struggled to find meaning to his new conscious life, and he went outside searching for it, then day zero happened and we hadn't heard from him until now.

JustLikeBefore · 29/06/2018 20:33

ahh thanks EllIe

I really enjoyed the last two episodes, I just watched them back to back.

I think the plan is weak but as they have enlisted the help of the of groups to round up stragglers they are still looking at killing most of them.

can the power grid be hacked?

what was the meeting with Mia and the other woman?

EmNetta · 29/06/2018 21:53

If next week's episode is the last, there will be an enormous party when all the plot lines are tied up, probably instantaneously as there are so many characters from previous series, including Mattie's pregnancy of course, and a whole backstory for Odi - can't see how it could be finished in the usual 40-odd minutes so
I can only think there is another series due next year.

Italiangreyhound · 29/06/2018 22:34

Agree another season I hope.

thanks EllIe.

purpleme12 · 29/06/2018 22:53

Well I hope there's another series!

Crinkle77 · 30/06/2018 10:33

Is next week the last?

Cherrybomball · 05/07/2018 21:45

Poor Mia I hope She isn't gone forever... 😥

Italiangreyhound · 05/07/2018 23:27

@Crinkle77 I was kind of sad when the synths were being attacked so many I am buying into it! But wow Sam is creepy!

There must be another series.

Sorry but the baby story line is crap. It's V all over again.

I knew it would be the daughter of Dr Athena Morrow who had taken over Odi! That's just too easy!

The thing with Mia is that Laura's little girl (Sophie?) fell in love with her as Anita, not Mia, she had no specific personality, she just looked after her. I can't believe the family would let Sophie watch Mia being attacked!

I felt that episode was very poor. They are killing off the characters we are interested in (well I am interested in!) and bringing in people we don't much care for (well I don't much care for!).

Boo hiss.

Italiangreyhound · 05/07/2018 23:28

Maybe not many

ScaredPAD · 05/07/2018 23:32

Hmmn. Not sure where this is going!
