Thought I'd start a new one as we're not far off and there'll be much to talk about this week, I I fear.

When did Alya become so unlikeable and why? Was it Karl's death? (BTW what happened to the gym? No scenes in there anymore).

Last few episodes have seemed shoe-horned in some way or another with strange bits of dialogue sticking out.

Steve's holiday has done him good. He's as tanned as Summer now....

Jesus how many bloody storylines do they need going at once, that whole thing with them in the bar and random (wannabe Calum) guy following them home was nonsense.

Well I'll tell you if I'm ever stuck for money I'm going to head to corrie and get a job, there's lots of them and you only need to have a quick pint with the employer and it's yours.

They must be looking rid of zeedan and have drummed up a prison sentence for him. What are the chances, Zeedan hits a fella in defence of two damsels in distress and gets life in prison for manslaughter while phelan kills all round him and swims off to Ireland without a care in the world.

I don't know what happened to that clairvoyant, bizarrely dropped. A few weeks ago Abi was a junkie with kids taken into care and now she's a mechanic? Probably have a relationship with Kevin.
The best scene was the one in the Kabin with Rita, Liz and Gemma and the Royal Weddings!

The Zeedan storyline is bonkers. It's come too soon after David beating Gary to a pulp.

That fox was the best thing I’ve seen on Corrie in a long time.

On the plus side, presumably if zeedan is going to prison then David's getting out - yay!

Ooh I can see Yasmeens chickens going to the Great HenCoop in the Sky with a fox about (and it'll give her yet another bee in her bonnet to get enraged about)

The Kabin scene with Gemma, Liz and Rita was really well- written, I agree. Makes a change!

So Michelle and Improbable GP son are good friends now, and he's leaving the Medical Centre? He'll most likely be a cardiac consultant soon and save the life of Robert. Even with Summer doing an altruistic campaign, I can't take to her.

I know we've said it before but the scriptwriters/editor etc should start to watch the Classic Corrie episodes - one or two big storylines moving at a slow pace with human interaction/chats etc for 'light relief'. This was when it was only on 2 days a week so a story like Alan getting money from Rita or Don gambling would have been dealt with in weeks/months not in days like now.
Everything now feels very rushed - would Summer and Billy really have been able to set up the helpline, print leaflets, get consent/money from local businesses in a week?
The Kabin scene about the weddings was good but what was the point of the giant inflatable thing of Tyrone's?

Loved the scene in the Kabin. Loved the Tinder comment. Loved Yasmeen and Tim in the cafe. Loved the reappearance of the Rubik Cube, which used to appear discreetly in every scene set in the cab office. Loved Johnny'a nuanced acting. Loved the fox.

Didn't love the Kate and Rana nonsense. Time to sack off those characters.

Summer is quite strange. I'm not convinced by the actress.

Shoe-horning Abi into the garage is ridiculous. I like the actress though.

Ali is the world's unlikeliest GP but the actor is ok. The writers should have given him a different job, or cast someone else imo.

I wondered why there was a vacancy at the garage - no preamble from Kev or Ty about needing extra hands. Surely Sophie and her clipboard will be needed again due to increased admin.
Abi supposedly "aced" her mechanics exam in prison. Mechanics in soaps never seem to need proper qualifications - over in Emmerdale the garage is entirely staffed by people who have had no seeming training or college exams (just need to be "good" with (stealing) cars.

Summer needs to be sent to boarding school (preferably in the Shetlands).
I quite like Abi. She seems interesting and is definitely a better actor than some some of the cast (Kate, Aliya, Sophie).

I am really enjoying Corrie lately, I feel they have slowed the pace down a bit and have a little more banter going on. Agree about Abi, I think Kevin is already giving her the glad eye.

Where did Johnny spend the night? Was it with Liz?

I think he slept on Liz's Sofa.

I was just going to ask that too. Did Johnny sleep with Liz ?

No, he slept on the sofa but lied about his whereabouts because he sensed that Jenny wouldn't approve.
