I loved the doctor and David scene

That scene with the doctor and David was a bloody joke, how unprofessional can you get.

I hope Tracy reports him, that's really bloody annoyed me.

AWoman, totally agree with you, otherwise David would have told his dad who might try and persuade her and he would have told Priya and she would have been bleating on about a little sister or brother for Amba, meanwhile not one of them giving one hoot about what Tracy wants.

The doc was spot on about one thing, David is so selfish.

Tonight's episode made me so cross.

David is a complete and utter buffoon - how on earth he charms most of the women into his bed is beyond me.

Nobody believing poor Liv. However if you are sending somebody texts on a burner phone, you don't have the volume on, and certainly not when in the presence of said person. Nor would I continually seek out said person to confront them, when I believed them to have tried to murder me.

The doctor was in total breach of everything by telling David that Tracy was pregnant and having a termination.

Tracy's termination will be a nice (not nice obviously, but I can't think of the better word, I sort of mean 'balanced') foil for when Leila inevitably returns with David's baby (not a spoiler, just what I think will happen).

Suddenly he will have a baby to make up for the one he lost and he & L will get back together to 'really make it work this time' blah, blah, blah.

I don't mind that the trans story might be about ticking boxes and Emmerdale wanting to catch up (it's the only U.K soap that hasn't had a trans character before). Transitioning gender is something that increasingly affects lots of people these days and the actor playing Matty is great. He also looks a lot like Hannah and the story has lots of dramatic potential.

I agree southeast. I'm really enjoying Matty and especially his friendship with Zak.

Amy Walsh was excellent tonight. She needs more recognition.

Emmerdale are being a bit heavy handed though with Moira going on about how she needs another "man" helping at the farm, Cain on about Hannah working in a call centre but Matty needs something outdoors n manual, and then Zach saying the same thing. Yes Emmerdale we get it! Luckily the storyline is saved by Marty being such a lovely character.
Did anyone else find Lachlan driving around with a shovel and blood covered hands really scary?!

I’ve always thought the actress that plays Amelia is really hammy; and I feel bad saying that about a young teen but in comparison to all the actors on the show that are her peers; Samson, Noah, Sarah - there’s no comparison.

She’s probably great for musical theatre but she’s wrong wrong wrong for the role she’s in.

Mind you, the guy that plays Dan is just as pants: two settings only

I don't mind Matty (though I hate that name. Just matt, surely. I don't know any metthew that shortens their name to matty)

But what I do think is ridiculous is the way everyone in the village just shrugs and accepts it without any comment! That seems totally unrealistic to me. People from Pearl, to Zack, to Cain, Ross, and Victoria. It just seems totally unrealistic to me. I'm sure in real life people would take the piss or at least be a bit weirded out. And certainly struggle to refer to him as a he when talking about him. Even the off screen beat up has been badged as a normal mugging.

Kind of seems a bit box ticking when it's just tada, here's my son you used to remember as hannah. OK. Hi mate.

I don't like Matty, the character gives me the creeps for some reason I can't put my finger on, it's nothing to do with the trans thing by the way in case I get jumped on. It's just the voice and his eyes are really stare-y!

100% yes, instantly dislike her - but easy to see who her nasty little daughter takes after! Although the dr is also an odd ball with no idea of patient confidentiality so the daughter had no hope really

I agree smidge. Tbh I think they’ve done a bit of a disservice to the story. In reality people would be giving funny looks and making comments. I think they should reflect what it’s like IRL for people who have transitioned or are still transitioning. It’s not just as easy as “hi, I was Hannah, now Matty”

Agree jane - doctors wife has a wild look in her eye. Somethings brewing there.

They should have had a build up to matty returning. Things like Moira on the phone to him and saying “have you a cold, your voice sounds odd” and then her saying she wants to visit and him putting her off etc.

Some people are actually quickly very accepting of trans people but I agree there should be some kind of nod to the fact that there’d be bigotry in a real life village. Transphobia and racism don’t exist in Emmerdale

the actor playing Matty is great. He also looks a lot like Hannah and the story has lots of dramatic potential I disagree, we were discussing it and have decided the character is really mediocre and the actor very meh. Maybe the idea is that Matty is going to be a very boring uninteresting character. Now that would be a bold storyline.

He's being a complete arse. So selfish. When she said she'd had the termination he didn't ask her how she was, he just walked away! A-hole. I'm not convinced that's in line with his character to be honest. He was always wet, but always caring. Now he's just being a selfish arse.

I think they must have changed the writers, there are so many personality changes at the moment. Diane being a case in point. Laurel and Bob. Belle just disappearing in the night to (Ireland?) without talking to lachlan even though she wouldn't dream of going to London without him. Where's Lisa these days anyway? Is she with granny clegg too? (if so why did belle have to dash off there?)
