How long will Joe and Robert play the one upmanship game, its tedious beyond belief.

Has Lisa gone for good and if she has I wouldn't blame her.

Will Chas and Paddy last as long as this thread, I'd be very surprised.

Moses is adorable

Yes I wondered at that too. Surely with no lungs the baby would have minutes, at best, once she is born?

JaneJeffer · 15/06/2018 22:49

What was going on with Moira tonight? She looked liked she was trying to keep the laughter in during her scenes with Cain.

QueenOfIce · 15/06/2018 22:56

I don't think Chas is believable at all, wouldn't you want the support from your oh so keeping it a secret would be the last thing you did! She's pulling that tight angry face and I don't find it at all believable. There's so many tragic storylines going on at the moment it's a bit much. I can't root for any of them!

redshoeblueshoe · 15/06/2018 23:13

Queen I agree. I generally think Chas is a good actress, but not at all tonight.
I also think they are trying to fit in so many dramatic things into one week has backfired.
Apart from Brenda, I think most of them have looked like idiots if they have spoken this week Grin

QueenOfIce · 15/06/2018 23:31

I've warmed to Brenda, I think she has the best storyline at the moment!

redshoeblueshoe · 15/06/2018 23:43

me too Queen. Bob and Laurel have been absolutely vile towards her.
Bob going in the pub and accusing her of shagging around, and being an alcoholic - what a bastard.
And Bob always plays the victim.
Laurel implying it would be nice for Brenda to have the kids when she actually means get your brats out of my face
I also am really liking Rebecca, she is such a brilliant character since Lachlan cut off her oxygen supply Grin

JaneJeffer · 15/06/2018 23:47

I think Laurel might hit the bottle soon with the stress of all the kids together. She's not coping too well.

I can't stand Rebecca.

redshoeblueshoe · 15/06/2018 23:56

But Rebecca is now so funny
I hope Laurel hits the bottle, and Bob sees what a twat he has been.
I hope he goes grovelling back to Brenda, and she says No
I hope things go really badly for both of them, because when they were so busy lying, they did not give one shiny shit about their families.

Eastie77 · 16/06/2018 00:29

Yeah Laurel is heading for some kind of breakdown. Good. She is absolutely awful and clearly cannot stand having the twins around.

Why hasn't a single person mentioned contacting Andy to let him know his daughter is at death's door?!

bonfireheart · 16/06/2018 00:38

Even Robert as her uncle seems unbothered.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 16/06/2018 00:56

I think they forget who is connected/related to who when they write these storylines. They should have a big family tree and a “previous connections” board for each character. Then they can remember that Sarah actually has a father who might like to know that she is dying, and who could call him? Oh, his brother! (Who I’ve literally never seen interacting with Sarah.)

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 16/06/2018 00:57

might be dying! Sorry Sarah!

ellenanora5 · 16/06/2018 01:18

I can't even remember why Andy went on the run, so did Adam, why do they go on the run instead of staying to prove they are innocent.

I thought Paddy and Chas were very good tonight, I shed a few tears, but I think they should have had it as a stand alone episode.

Bob is a complete and utter knob, the bloody cheek of him speaking to Brenda like that when he's shifted his kids into Laurel's house and they are supposed to just get on with it, and where are they all sleeping, its not that big.

I don't think Brenda and Doug should get together.

Jojoanna · 16/06/2018 07:39

Good point why has no one mentioned Andy? Can’t stand Bob or Doug but I like Rebecca .

Smidge001 · 16/06/2018 07:41

I think Bob is being like that coz he still loves Brenda and really wants v to get back with her. There have been lots of times when he's wanted to hang around and have tea there, and now he's worried she's going to go off with Rishi.

I think laurel is regretting it too. They don't seem to enjoy each others company any more. I think it's the typical wearing off now reality has set in. It was all exciting and they both thought it was real. But now they're together I think they're both regretting it. Hopefully it won't be long before Bob and Brenda get back together.

I'm sick of all the cheating storylines. I actually think one with regret would be more realistic than all these where they get together and all end up matey with the ex.

Eastie77 · 16/06/2018 09:34

I'm struggling to remember why Andy went on the run but think he was framed for trying to kill Lawrence? He was cleared but no-one has mentioned him since. None of the Sugdens give a shiny shit about Sarah or Jack. Diane seemed to remember for the first time ever this week that Sarah is her 'granddaughter' and Victoria obsesses over Seb while also completely forgetting she has another niece and nephew.

Hygge · 16/06/2018 10:36

I don't want Brenda to take Bob back.

I agree that the affair with Laurel was probably about the excitement and the sneaking around, and now they are dealing with consequences and reality rather than fairy tales and fantasy.

But I hated it when Lisa took Zack back and I don't want to see Brenda do the same.

I'm not sure I can see her with Rishi, but it would be interesting to see what might happen if they put her with Eric, who I think is her partner in real life.

I would like Bob and Laurel to split up though. They've never made a believable couple and I don't like them together, it doesn't work, and they should face the consequences about what they've done to everybody else, in particular Brenda and Arthur, but also Gabby, Heath, and Cathy (whose names give me the creeps a bit considering they are blood related twins).

As for Chas and Paddy, from personal experience I found their scenes believable. It can be an incredibly isolating time, even from your partner, because nobody ever reacts the same way as anybody else. You learn a lot about yourself and your partner in times like this, and there are moments where you feel very close together but also moments where you feel so far apart you can't imaging being close ever again. It's just so completely personal a time for both parents. And an isolating one when you know that whatever anybody else thinks or feels, it's just going to be you giving birth in the end. Nobody can do it for you and even when they are with you, you're on your own in that, and it's frightening and isolating.

I can remember having that expression on my face and seeing it on DH's face, even recognising it on another women who had lost her baby. It was like having a very thin film over my face forcing it into the expression for months. Shocked and angry and tight and totally stricken.

So I thought their scenes were quite real, and very sad.

Smidge001 · 16/06/2018 18:56

Agreed, hygge.

I think with the Brenda taking Bob back thing, it's just that the whole story was ridiculous and unbelievable and came from nowhere and isn't working, so I think I just feel bob and Brenda should get back together so we can all forget this story ever happened!

bonfireheart · 17/06/2018 09:47

The Chas & Paddy storyline has been brilliantly done, and even the Debbie & Sarah stuff. The only thing ruining the Amelia storyline is Benton. Why doesn't he trace the ip/isp whatever its called of the person messaging Amelia? Or even use her messages to track location? Why doesn't he get someone to follow Daz? And Benton's acting is so OTT, making eye contact with the other lady all the time and acting shifty.

JaneJeffer · 17/06/2018 19:43

Well Benton was convinced that Adam killed Emma so I don't think he's a great detective. Which is why he's with the Hotten police force Grin

RightOnTheEdge · 17/06/2018 19:46

I absolutely hated the Laurel and Bob story line but I am quite enjoying them showing the reality of what they've done.

I am a bit shocked that none of the village seems to have reacted to it or judged them though. But I suppose the other villagers have enough drama going on in their own lives!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 18/06/2018 19:00

No emmerdale (or Corrie) on tonight?? Shock why?

bonfireheart · 18/06/2018 19:04

Is it because the England match stats at 7pm?

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 18/06/2018 19:06

BOOOO!! Football Booooo! 👎

Eastie77 · 19/06/2018 05:30

Sherlock 'Benton' Holmes is is now the default Emmerdale detective, the only one capable of investigating crime in the village. Yet he has failed to realise that at least two murderers (Moira, Lachlan) are walking around right under his nose. And agree with PP that they can easily trace the origins of the messages to Amelia using the IP address
