Me too mrsjayy - they both need a good slap imo!

catinboots9 · 11/04/2018 12:36

What ring?

Tinkobell · 11/04/2018 12:41

How about a new line of Mick finally fitting some locks on the doors at the Vic? Seems he & Linda or indeed anyone keeps having a coitus interuptus as any tom-dick-Harry saunters in!!!!

MrsJayy · 11/04/2018 12:41

Weeks ago Kim gave her ring to Vincent to be pawned but Pearl took it out the box and posted it in the DVD player Karen was cleaning the house and got blamed ring is still whirring about i the Dvd player

MrsJayy · 11/04/2018 12:42

coitus interuptus Grin

lazymum99 · 11/04/2018 12:48

If Ted is on an income based benefit such as Pension Credit he could qualify for help with Funeral Costs. If collecting State retirement Pension or private pension he won't qualify. (I think I am becoming over invested in these storylines).

Ridiculous because whatever falling out his kids had with their father they would still be involved in organising their mothers funeral.

youarenotkiddingme · 11/04/2018 14:01

Well his daughter did come. But she left in a huff because it turns out Ted (very badly!) pointed out her DH is a dick many moons ago.
And she won't admit he's right Grin

Coitus interuptus made me spit out my coffee Grin

MrsJayy · 11/04/2018 14:26

Ted probably got beer money from Joyce and had no idea where their money came from saying that I don't believe that Jay didn't have contact to pass Teds details on, when an aunt of mine died the funeral director helped her family to apply for a hardship grant.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2018 17:33

£6k is a lot for a funeral

a more basic one could be had forless and yes thekids would help

catinboots9 · 11/04/2018 20:04

Ah thanks @MrsJayy

MrsJayy · 11/04/2018 20:07

You are welcome catinboots

Akire · 12/04/2018 10:28

It’s bit mean of EE not to put information out about what available for funerals. We constant have the info hot line of touching on any sensitive issue. Apprently because some people can’t use internet. Yet on subject which primarily affects older people with no access no easy information on the web about support, mr Mrs Jones left there thinking well we don’t have £6k so looks like paupers funeral for us. That’s really upsetting. I know it’s soap but still.

Hope The Vic isn’t back into money troubles by next week again because of E20. In fact they better start having something to show for ally his money they are making.

The80sweregreat · 12/04/2018 11:06

The funeral directors should give some kind of advice regarding costs if somebody can’t pay or hasnt insurance I think? Not sure but I am guessing they might.
I’m shocked his daughter hasnt pitched in - you just would help even if you don’t get on. She is heartless.

troodiedoo · 12/04/2018 13:11

Most funeral directors offer credit and payment plans these days I'm sure! Do wish they would do basic research sometimes.

The80sweregreat · 12/04/2018 14:03

Jay said that Les coker didnt want people ' having credit' - in which case i would take my custom elsewhere ( if i were Ted)
( sorry, custom for a funeral sounds a bit cold and harsh, but you get my drift. i dont want to offend anyone)

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/04/2018 14:25

The three funerals I’ve been involved in - dh - my mum and my uncle

All 3 diff funeral parlours

And all wouldn’t do finance /payment packages as they said they wouldn’t get their money after the funeral

troodiedoo · 12/04/2018 14:38

Thanks @The80sweregreat Must have missed that bit.

Odd, they all seem to near me. Credit provided by a broker not the actual director.

The80sweregreat · 12/04/2018 15:14

Blondes - that’s sad to read.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/04/2018 16:37

makes sense tho

you wouldnt eat at a restaurant/sains and say i will pay you £50 etc for the next 6 mths

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 12/04/2018 16:55

no, i can see why a lot of directors dont have credit or payment plans - must be horrible though when people dont have any form of life insurance or savings as they do cost a lot of money, even the ones that Jay mentioned about for Mrs Murray - you still have to pay something.
My inlaws paid up front for their funerals years and years ago now. you dont hear of places doing this any more either.
its is all very sad.

nancy75 · 12/04/2018 19:50

You are watching a party political broadcast by Karen Taylor

youarenotkiddingme · 12/04/2018 19:59

Karen 😂😂😂😂😂

The80sweregreat · 12/04/2018 20:31

Karen was funny. It was amusing in parts and I actually laughed.
Bit of a first in ages!

Optimist1 · 12/04/2018 22:00

Good point by PPs about this being one of the very subjects which would make Public Service Announcement-type information worthwhile. As Akire points out, the very elderly who are most likely to be thinking about funeral arrangements are the ones who probably can't do online research about costs, grants, worst case scenarios.

Loved Karen's political rant, but would have liked someone to take issue with her failure to vote!

Thebirthdayparty · 13/04/2018 00:54

I counted nine in Stacey's kitchen today, excluding Stacey's three kids and Tiff, there are five adults and not one of them is working! Why isn't Tiff at school? Is Bianca still supposed to be on a cruise?

Jean makes me laugh "keep me in the dark, why? I'm not a mushroom'. :) I'm sooooo glad EE is back to normal.
