Like the title? I think she was either, with that laugh!

Is that it then, Martin's gone? For some bizarre reason, I thought he was back for an actual purpose. I thought (well, hoped) David might confess to him and they'd renew their relationship while Martin helps him through it.

Was I hoping for too much, do you think?

Hygge · 26/03/2018 21:31

Chevalier I thought the same thing about Martin and David, I was expecting David to confide in Martin and then for Martin to postpone his departure.

Otherwise it seems a bit odd to bring him back, just to have him leave for good with only David standing on the street to say goodbye.

It's a bit much to bring him back just so that last exchange between Josh and David could happen on the street. That could have happened anyway.

x2boys · 26/03/2018 21:32

Maybe bot chevalier the actor that plays Martin has hinted he would like to come back on a more permanent basis , well he would wouldnt he.. ..

x2boys · 26/03/2018 21:33

not ffs*

woodhill · 26/03/2018 21:39

Yes Lilly definitely Scottish

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 26/03/2018 22:09

I see they're going to drag out the Phelan storyline even more, going to demolish the concrete pillars next week.

scrabbler3 · 26/03/2018 22:09

I'd have liked to see Martin interacting/reminiscing with Kev, Sally, Jenny, Rita. It seemed a waste to get Sean Wilson back for such a brief spell. I know that he's a pretty successful businessman now and probably uninterested in a long-term commitment to CS but surely he could have been in a few more eps.

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 26/03/2018 22:10

Oops, posted too soon. I was going to say I had an actual nightmare about Phelan trying to kill me last night, in front of all my friends and no one would help me. It's made me funny all day.

I wish they'd just finish his storyline now, get him arrested and out of Corrie.

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 26/03/2018 22:11

Feel funny**

eddiemairswife · 26/03/2018 22:18

It's been nice seeing Martin again.
I wasn't so happy to see Gary and Seb.

Clawdy · 26/03/2018 22:34

I thought the Phelan story was going to come to a head this Friday?

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 26/03/2018 22:38

I wonder if Carla is going to find out she's pregnant then not know if Daniel or Ali is the father.

Ohhhh a baby Daniel!!! If carla won’t oblige, I’ll have his baby Grin

Yes to Tyrone and Gemma being brilliant together. She was very good in the scenes with ruby. Very natural.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 26/03/2018 22:43

So just a cameo appearance for Martin then? It would have been great to see him reminiscing over old times with Kevin, Jenny, Sally etc, an opportunity lost by the script writers, so disappointing. I also thought he was brought back so David would confess and then Martin would decide to move back to Weatherfield to help his son overcome his ordeal and become a permanent member of the cast, otherwise what was the point?? I think it would make for a good new Platt dynamic if Martin returned on a permanent basis.

deadringer · 27/03/2018 00:07

We all said that cement was too runny, and it was raining whch can't have helped, Phelan really is a crap builder. And when did he fix up the factory, i dont think we ever saw him go near it.

CoolCarrie · 27/03/2018 08:07

Well, the reappearance of Martin was a total disappointment and waste of time, didn’t add anything. I was expecting to see him propping up the bar with Kevin, Sally, Jenny and Rita, great opportunity for some funny writing, especially with Jenny.
Instead of a few laughs we got pen on Oliver’s face, ‘enry asking about Gemma, the ridiculous idea of the Rovers being presented as a “ family friendly “ pub, instead of what it is; a back street pub with a court yard for smokers, and Simon being a little shit! Absolute rubbish again!

beargrass · 27/03/2018 09:11

So I'm not the only one who thought last night's episodes were meant to be the start of "something", then.

Also really don't get why Martin made a reappearance - what was that in aid of?!

I did enjoy the bit with Roy - but seriously - the rest?!! Piss poor.

I think they brought him back for the publicity and ratings, similarly with the rape story.

Clawdy · 27/03/2018 09:30

Anyone else think Rosemary was going to shock Roy by humming The Lark Ascending and saying "Does the name Hayley mean anything to you........." Shock

Susiesoap7 · 27/03/2018 10:12

I was sure rosemary was going to come with something about Hayley just to shatter Roy's beliefs

LineysRun · 27/03/2018 10:23

I found last night's episodes odd and uninteresting.

The actor who plays Simon is an exceptionally good snivelling little shit, though.

Collywobbles1984 · 27/03/2018 12:40

Has Eileen's front door moved?!

Seniorcitizen1 · 27/03/2018 16:04

Smeaton - he is actually a very successful multi-prize winning cheese maker selling in many of the main uk supermarkets as well as exporting
