I still have 2 episodes to catch up on so that will do tonight's tv.

Glad baby blondes is ok.

southeastdweller · 19/02/2018 09:23

Happy 33rd Birthday EE! 🎉

Don't forget that there's no episode tonight.

The80sweregreat · 19/02/2018 12:16

Happy birthday to our favourite soap! 🍸🍻

tobee · 19/02/2018 13:51

Yeah, and celebrate by pulling yourself together! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/02/2018 14:07

So wrong it’s EE birthday and no episode

Just watched the funeral, quite a bizarre funeral with next to no family there (was Cora the only one?)
I just thought Lauren was walking for a bit and Josh would follow her out of crematorium in the car not that she was 'going it alone'

troodiedoo · 19/02/2018 14:57

@tobee GrinGrinGrin

Figgygal · 19/02/2018 20:43

Since when was Lauren not into Josh? I feel like I must miss episodes at a time and then realise it's not just me it's the shoddy writing

Squirrelpatrol2174 · 19/02/2018 21:19

To be fair on Lauren, Josh has barely shown his face since she fell off the roof and her sister died. I was surprised to see him bother to turn for the funeral to be honest.

southeastdweller · 19/02/2018 21:26

Also Tanya made Lauren think about not repeating some of Tanya's mistakes.

Theshipsong · 20/02/2018 08:37

I got the impression Josh was looking after Louis seeing as Lauren was in the hospital a bit and Ian choose that as the ideal time to go on an unplanned holidays Hmm

I know Tanya’s talk was to fill Lauren with the confidence not to rely on a man. But it came out of the blue and making big decisions (not least transferring the feelings she had about Stephen onto Josh) while distressed over the death of her only sister is hardly a recipe for success. More inconsistency from the EE writers really.

Thymeout · 20/02/2018 09:31

The ending was just some writer showing off that he'd been to film school and seen The Third Man. Nothing to do with what the characters would do in real life. Who'd take Whitney's advice on relationships, for a start? And telling Lauren not to leave Walford because she'd be there for her? What happened to going to Wakefield and opening a T-shirt shop?

Akire · 20/02/2018 09:34

Sol has Lauren left? Where is she supposed to be sending postcards from? With no job no money?

The80sweregreat · 20/02/2018 09:35

Whitney isnt going anywhere as hard as nails Tiff needs her around to mop up the tears that Hunter will cause when they get it together ( i do believe they will after the way she was checking him out in the chip shop the other day, but its only a guess)

Anyway, Lauren and Abi have gone, leaving Max with the baby.
i wonder if Tanya will come back now?
i hope Rainie stays away though, she is bad news.

Theshipsong · 20/02/2018 09:59

I’d be surprised if Cora doesn’t block Max from taking the baby, stating him as an unfit parent. I’m not sure that even with Jack’s involvement that Max could claim he was suitable even with Jack’s support as he doesn’t have his own home, income etc? A bed on Jack’s sofa is unlikely to satisfy social services? Would Jack even agree considering what Max did with Matthew? Not to mention the amount Max drinks? The baby simply wouldn’t be in safe hands. Still not Lauren!’s either worry obviously! The only person family member I can see being anyway capable is Ian really. Not that he made such a great job out of three quarters of his other children!

The80sweregreat · 20/02/2018 11:22

Ian isnt even baby Abi's real grandad - steven is cindy and wicky's child.
Tanya has her own little one to take care of ( he is about 7 or 8?) and i agree that Max isn't best placed either - he even smashed up the crib he made for her! Cora is too old and not working or wealthy and Lauren has gone.
Jane helping out might be an answer - but she has also disappeared and was on crutches last time we saw her. plus steven has tried to kill her twice before, so she might not be that bothered about his child , even if the poor thing is an orphan.
The child would be better off adopted i think, sad to say. She probably would in real life!

SoupDragon · 20/02/2018 11:26

Oscar must be older than 8 I think. He’s spent so long in the cupboard though he may not have aged!

The80sweregreat · 20/02/2018 15:37

Oscar! i couldnt remember his name and cba to look it up. he was born just before it all came out about Stacey and Max so he is about 9 - older than i thought. who does she leave him with when she comes back? she must have very good friends down in Exeter who can help out!!
they will probably make Oscar come back in a few years time and wreck revenge on his dad for killing his sister and his Nephew's dad.
at least all three of them have the same dad - makes life easier for me. lol!! Unlike Jack and his numerous kids with different mums and the Beales and their complicated set up and the other Brannings and their kids ( and Bianca and stacey too ) having 3 by the same person in EE is a record.

The80sweregreat · 20/02/2018 15:39
  • Nephew's dad? i meant his niece's dad ( steven) ( i know he didnt kill Abi , but she was on the roof because of him and he did help the demise of Steven)
youarenotkiddingme · 20/02/2018 16:47

Yes - family dynamics and parentage are just a bit shit and unrealistic is EE Grin

troodiedoo · 20/02/2018 17:08

plus steven has tried to kill her twice before, so she might not be that bothered about his child
Actually crying at this! Grin

The80sweregreat · 20/02/2018 17:47

Troo, i know, only in a soap eh?
' im not looking after the baby, her dad was a nightmare on the attempted murder front'.

GottaGetThisDone · 20/02/2018 19:32

I must have missed an episode - why was Tina in the loos? And was it the gents?

nancy75 · 20/02/2018 19:34

I must have missed an episode too, who the bloody hell is this bloke?

SoupDragon · 20/02/2018 19:35

With a new tattoo?

I don’t think there’s a missing episode but that’s why I came on the thread!
