We've got a couple of launderettes where I live, I use it when I was the big quilt because they have an extra big washing machine & tumble dryer.

I don't know anyone that doesn't have a washing machine & I've never seen a house without one

it was discussed on facebook that 'unter might be Phil's offspring - Mel slept with Phil in 2000 and she left in 02. however, she might have had one last 'farewell' shot at him or something - despite being married to Steve owen by then, you know how he is with women, they do tend to fall at his feet and they lose all reason.
i would be lost without my trusty washer, its on most days and i actually hate it when its broken or has to be replaced as the washing mounts up within days. obviously they are made of sterner stuff in EE land - clean clothes? nah, we don't need 'em.

The Vic must have a washing machine even for the bar washing? What about bar towels (mats? I'm not sure of the correct term), tea towels and that sort of thing, those need washing frequently. Though I can't recall if I've seen any now.

nah, its an old east end boozer, they dont need mats!! lol. the food all stopped when Babe cursed them all and Abi was fired for some reason so they dont need to worry about kitchen stuff.

He’s not great but this is his first TV role. I hope he’s not Phil’s son because Phil has too many stories in my opinion. But I think he’s Steve’s and suspect that he was partly cast because of his likeness to Martin Kemp.

Only places I’ve lived without washing machines is houses converted to flats. And even then some of them had a shared washing machine in the house. I remember when I lived in a Bedsit that was only time I can remember using laundrette.

I think Louise and Hunter are going to get close so if Phil is his father the truth will have to come out.

I thought there was a strong resemblance to Martin Kemp too and Tamzin Ourwaite too to be fair. No idea if he will be good or not, he didn’t say enough but I’m sure he will surpass Danny Boy and Danny Dyer!

I am really struggiling atm I hate Mel and couldn't care less about her or the boy and Ciara the gangster so have just had it on in the background,was lovely to see Pam though I like how she pops back even if it was to fire Billy

I only watch for this thread as your all so funny and we can pick it apart when it’s really bad. Other than that I might not bother either. Mel was annoying back in the day ( from what I remember) but the story lines were not that bad. Maybe I have rose coloured glasses!

I suppose she is replacing Fee who replaced Ronnie and Roxie?? EE always like to have a good looking blonde woman for all the ‘other halves’ forced to watch it I suppose is the reasoning in their heads. Who knows.

She is pretty but the character is just another gangster Ronnie type and that’s boring. Should have kept Ronnie and Roxy. At least Roxy was a laugh.

Now, 80s, I think that Phil is surly (to the max, really) but not dour, for example. Good to have these different words. Dour is often followed by Yorkshireman or Scotsman. Stereotypically.

Why did I use the word max? Now Max isn't really surly or dour. Sometimes. But he's something else. Not sure what? Unhinged recently, I suppose.

Gordon Brown was dour. My hair dresser is Essex born and bred and she is a bit dour for someone so young! Max is unhinged true. He has ‘issues’ from way back 😀. Needs help that one.
