"Hunted" (on tonight) - would you do it?

Just that really. I love the thought of being able to go off grid and outwit the hunters. I'd probably be rubbish, but i like the idea.
Also wondering how 'real' it is - cameras following you etc.

I'm watching last weeks on catch up now. And I get really angry that they use phones to ring their family! Sooo stupid. I'd take myself off to the woods for three weeks haha

DownWentTheFlag · 18/01/2018 20:05

DH and I are convinced we could win it. We also get really angry when they use their phones. Didn’t they watch the last series??

loverofcake983 · 18/01/2018 20:08

I think I'd genuinely dress up like a tramp and sleep on a park bench and look so revolting and smelly no one would talk to me haha

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 18/01/2018 20:08

We watch and I even have my very own "Hunted" plan of how I would evade them and win Blush Grin

None of us can believe that they ring anyone!

Am also a bit Shock at the guy with the very pregnant wife. How on earth does he think he's going to be at the birth without getting caught?

SimonBridges · 18/01/2018 20:12

I think a certain amount of it is bullshit.
Especially the cctv cameras.

I do like coming up with a plan. I wouldn’t be calling anyone. I would just spend the time on MN.

TheWitchAndTrevor · 18/01/2018 20:15

I can't watch it, just does my head in, when they say they recognise them on cctv, do they fuck it's the bloke with a camera that they see Hmm

lucylouuu · 18/01/2018 20:16

watched it when it first came out and googled the programme and some of the " professionals " using their skills were just actors

loverofcake983 · 18/01/2018 21:58

I'm getting the rage watching this now.

SmilingButClueless · 18/01/2018 22:01

This series definitely feels more scripted than the previous ones.

It’s an artificial set up though. Although I’ve no experience Halo, surely if you were really on the run you wouldn’t keep moving, you’d find a safe place and people to trust and just stay there until things had died down.

Beeinthecity · 18/01/2018 22:05

Smiling I think they made it that they had to keep on the move after the first serious when people just bunked up with mates for ages.

I'm really questioning the ethics of channel 4 allowing the bloke with the heavily pregnant wife to take part knowing the amount of stress and pressure placed on people.

Scrowy · 18/01/2018 22:10

I'm resisting googling because I don't want to completely ruin it for myself once and for all but an awful lot of it must be made up.

The WTF point for me tonight was the 'Bugging' of the computers of a random friend, yeah right. Either the friend must have given permission in the first place or it didn't happen.

Beansonapost · 18/01/2018 22:16

I can't stand Jamie (pregnant wife). Selfish!

TheWitchAndTrevor · 18/01/2018 22:55

scrowy

Yeah Don't Google.

saladdays66 · 18/01/2018 23:01

I don’t like how they can go into families’ homes and confiscate laptops, phones etc. Cheating!

Also, just watched the last series. How did they find out the extraction point was the isle of sheppey??? Will thousands of boats and miles of coastline? Dodgy.

saladdays66 · 18/01/2018 23:02

And that’s true re spotting people on cctv - they have a cameraman with them! Makes them easier to spot. I wonder how much is real on tv altogether.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 18/01/2018 23:07

If you want to know about the cctv just google it. Suffice to say, it's really not very clever...

supersop60 · 19/01/2018 07:40

Also - the cameras following the cameras? The two women who hitch-hiked in a 'ghost' car - there was a camera inside and outside in another car! And a camera outside the hunters car at the services where they did a very obvious wheel spin (for a journey of 50 yards).
Why do they have to keep going to the cash points?
SO fake, and yet, I'm hooked.

saladdays - I wonder too. My dsis took part in a makeover show recently, and it was filmed arse about face. Eg they did the "you've been chosen" bit AFTER they'd done the makeover and the reveal!

OP posts:
AlbusPercival · 19/01/2018 07:47

If you listen to the blurb at the beginning it says they have to stay on the move and seek help from friends and family.

DH and I are developing ever more elaborate plans.

supersop60 · 19/01/2018 07:54

How much notice do they get that they've been chosen?

VivaLeBeaver · 19/01/2018 07:59

The first series was good. Since then it seems scripted bollocks. And using camera drones to hunt for people like in the last series is unfair.

Petalflowers · 19/01/2018 08:05

I agree. The first series was a lot better. This is the third series, plus a Celebrity one, and they are making rookie mistakes such as phoning relatives.

I wonder how the house-husband is doing who won (?) last year. He wanted to do it prove himself.

saladdays66 · 19/01/2018 08:07

Yes - I liked him and was rooting for him. He seemed to have such low self-esteem.

I also think it's unfair to use drones - and dogs!

Shock
cantthinkofanythingwitty · 19/01/2018 08:12

I think that once they have found them, they re-shoot bits to dramatize it and make it more interesting.
I think I might apply for it this year Grin
