Just that really. I love the thought of being able to go off grid and outwit the hunters. I'd probably be rubbish, but i like the idea.
Also wondering how 'real' it is - cameras following you etc.

Didn’t she send them to East Sussex? Good on her.

Did anyone notice they didn’t actually feature Alex in the last programme, so maybe letting him win.. . Don’t get me wrong, he worked hard for his win, and i’m Thrilled for him. However, they did seem to concentrate on Bob and the duo.

Mrsmadevans · 09/02/2018 20:36

She did!
Yes we actually commented on that Petal but I don't think they would have done it to be kind the hunters were horrible imho.

Cherrypie32 · 10/02/2018 07:31

I think if they didn’t really feature it was because they were seriously off radar and the Hunters had nothing on them (ie there was no tv to be made)

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 10/02/2018 08:22

I think you're right Cherrypie. They never really explained how the singing milkmen got away from the pub, in the build up they gave the impression the hunters were arriving at the door while they were still performing. I think the reality was not quite as a dramatic.

StorminaBcup · 10/02/2018 08:50

The singing milkmen escaped out of the back of the pub as the hunters went through the front. It showed you.

This is the first series I’ve watched and I did wonder if it was scripted. It’s a shame but then how else would you be able to make a watchable tv programme.

Cherrypie32 · 10/02/2018 09:53

I agree with ladykylie I think the whole pub scene was edited to look like the Hunters came in as they left but probably not so. There was another pub thing like that earlier in series, when Bob left Alex I think, that was also made to look more dramatic than it was.

mumonashoestring · 10/02/2018 09:59

Conditions catch them out sometimes - the scenes will be edited to make it look like e.g. Bob and Alex escaped from the church just as the hunters arrived, but when Bob & Alex left it was pissing with rain and when the hunters turned up it was bright sunshine and the road was dry... A lot of it is definitely down to clever editing.

That said I do think there's a genuine element of skill /challenge on both sides and if it weren't for the fact I can't think how we'd manage childcare for a month (DH is a SAHD) I'd totally encourage him to go for it (or do it myself!).

DamsonGin · 10/02/2018 10:38

I agree it's definitely been over produced and they've been setup at times this year but it was really great to see how Alex grew, and it did seem at the end the hunters did just miss them all.

Interesting to read Magid's twitter account of it all, I can't link but it's one of the top ones @magicmagid. I really took to him.

DamsonGin · 10/02/2018 10:40

I guess it's send more like a tv show this time than a genuine challenge, not to dismiss the contestants but it's been a bit too obvious at time.

DamsonGin · 10/02/2018 10:41

In fact of change that from genuine to unsolicited challenge.

Charismam · 11/02/2018 20:25

Watching episode 6 season two now in the uk. Havent read the spoilers on this thread. Two left. Really hope one makes it!!

Charismam · 11/02/2018 20:26

Also struggling with the rules. Do they have to be on the water at 1300 on the last day to win?

mumonashoestring · 11/02/2018 21:06

There's a slightly different 'extraction point' every time - basically they get told in the last few days that they have to make it to somewhere like an airfield or port and onto a specific plane or boat which will only be there at the prearranged time. Too early and they could get caught, too late and they'll miss out.
