"Hunted" (on tonight) - would you do it?

Just that really. I love the thought of being able to go off grid and outwit the hunters. I'd probably be rubbish, but i like the idea.
Also wondering how 'real' it is - cameras following you etc.

Why don't they take the whole amount of money at the beginning so that they can't be seen on the cctv at the hole in the wall just the once. Or have I missed that they are not allowed to take it all in one . Can't bear Jamie either we were hoping he would be caught Hmm not really the point of the programme lol

SparkleFizz · 20/01/2018 23:33

Agree it would seem more sensible to take out as much cash as possible immediately after going on the run.

I do wonder if there’s a bunch of rules the contestants have to follow that aren’t spelt out to the viewers.

BoobleMcB · 21/01/2018 08:58

I believe there are some rules the contestants have, but I do know that whatever those rules are, the hunters are not told them.

They can obviously speculate and guess like we do but they're not actually told

helenoftroyville · 21/01/2018 09:11

I think there are rules, they can't stay in a place more than one night, so have to keep moving and can only draw £40 at a time (so they have to keep resurfacing for money and to find shelter)

I think the postman & his dad were tipped off (by the cameraman?) in the church that their phone call would've been listened to because suddenly after making the call they had a change of heart and ran.

Also strange that the pregnant lady left her back door and garden gate unlocked (they just walked straight in when she went out) very suspicious.

Also would you pick up a hitchhiker who said 'please help me, I'm on the run' Grin

Yes when they have a camera person with them and are clearly doing it for a tv show.

Eve · 21/01/2018 09:21

The stables they were at this week is where I keep my horses.

They turned up with 1 camera person in tow then a car with 4 others, which had 2 other cameras and 2 others . Lots of paperwork to sign giving permission for hunters to be allowed to check phones, ask questions etc. Visit wasn’t pre planned or booked in.

This season feels very scripted. It hasnt really in the past. Shame.

Tensecondrule · 23/01/2018 17:39

No, because I’d be too tempted to chat to people and lay myself open to being dobbed in. Having watched previous series it’s the need to be social that gets them into trouble, they can’t resist phoning home or visiting friends/relatives. My DH could do it tho, he’s a total loner and loves the outdoors so could happily disappear into the hills! I’m totally addicted to the program so I’ll be gutted when I’ve watched them all 🙃

SparkleFizz · 23/01/2018 17:41

I wondered if some of them had even seen the previous series’s.

Things like them seeming to be unaware that phone calls can be monitored, or taking a coach away from the city they’ve started in.... surely someone who’d watched this before would know they were doing something risky?

Tensecondrule · 23/01/2018 20:13

Oh bugger, I'm watching the second series now and I've just read this thread all the way through so I know who won 🙊

loverofcake983 · 25/01/2018 21:16

This is annoying me now

JonnaSilvie · 25/01/2018 21:33

I really can't understand the desperate need to call/see family that loads of the contestants fall prey to. It's what, three weeks? FOR SO MUCH MONEY. Fuck that, my family would see NOTHING from me!

Cherrypie32 · 25/01/2018 21:41

I hate how aggressive the chasers on the ground are. Swearing at people, couldn’t they have a bit of a laugh about it....it’s only a game

JonnaSilvie · 25/01/2018 21:44

That's some scripted bullshit with the separation of the father and son, then the son getting away in time.

Kind of hope they get the dad though, I can't fucking stand the masons. Don't need to be watching their shit when I'm at home.

Jamiek80 · 25/01/2018 22:02

You have to be very stupid to use a phone. The head investigator has got more repulsive by the episode as have the hunters, sure they are only being real but it doesn’t come across well. Seems most leave an internet trail or make basic mistakes. Go off the grid camp, cycle and live off the land. If you need to get cash in and out quickly. Doesn’t matter where you stay as long as you avoid urban areas and cctv. In fact it seems that staying close to home may be an advantage as long as you only deal with people you trust face to face

CurbsideProphet · 25/01/2018 23:03

I also think it's become more scripted and fake this time round. Doesn't stop me watching though HmmGrin

I would like Alex to win, as he seems to be coming out of his shell Smile

Timeforachange68 · 25/01/2018 23:09

Did feel like the ex-cop gave up too easy tonight - he looked like he could have outran the hunters
And the coincidence of the hunters being at the pub that the guy & his son were heading to

CurbsideProphet · 26/01/2018 07:53

Yeah there are too many coincidences this year. I presume that the camera crews feedback info to the production team, who in turn will pass on certain info to the hunter team. I wonder if they're aiming for a Hunter victory this year?

Frith1975 · 26/01/2018 17:05

I’m sick of all the hunters’ cars (mainly giant Volvos) doing that silly little wheel spin as they pull away. Obviously once they’re driving, they’ll be doing the same speed as everyone else!

Timeforachange68 · 26/01/2018 17:14

We said that - they're not in a cop film there's no urgency that requires them to wheelspin!

Cherrypie32 · 26/01/2018 19:10

And that’s what I mean, running after people shouting ‘give up now’ ‘stop running’ etc they’re not cops.

Mrsmadevans · 26/01/2018 21:32

We have nearly given up on this programme it is so fake.

Petalflowers · 27/01/2018 07:44

We thought the pub was too much of a coincidence also.

Also commented on the dramatic wheel spins, although my husband says that was dubbed on as they can’t make that noise.

I did feel the dad had had enough and was slightly abandoning his son, a vunerable 26 year old, although I love how well he is doing.

I though the friend of M (Sheffield deputy mayor) was great in the interview.

Have any of them watched previous series before?

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 27/01/2018 08:00

We have the same issues as you all do - the ridiculous wheel spins, the aggression of the hunters when interviewing perfectly ordinary acquaintances of the hunted - I’d tell them to fuck off to the far side of fuck, no, they can’t come in, and they certainly can’t search any of my property without a warrant Hmm

There are too many coincidences as well.

And I got really annoyed with the father whinging about “living rough” as he and his son sat on a perfectly nice camping field with their tents. It’s only a few weeks!
