I remember when that police officer was on a few years ago, I thought they covered that storyline with Charity already, but I agree Vanessa shouldn't have reported it, it's up to Charity to decide to do that.

I've always said Laurel is brilliant when she gets a good story, I'll never forget when they lost Daniel how brilliant she was, it was Oscar worthy and so have many more storylines she's had but the writers ruin it for her with nonsense like this and the affair with Marlon.

I think Rebecca is acting much better now she has a role to play and I don't like the way Ross is going to use her.

I like Nicola and Jimmy, I think they must have the longest marriage in Emmerdale at the moment.

I still don't care about Joe, he's useless as an actor anyway

The police officer was also a character in channel 5s soap ‘Family Affairs’, it was on when the channel first started and was a great soap for a long time, he was the son of the main family, their second name was Hart, anyone remember it?

I remember it, it was the first program aired on Channel 5, his characters name was Duncan. Family Affairs also starred Idris Elba 🙂

I remember it too. It was good. David Easter was great in it as was Dave Matthews (now Johnny Connor in Corrie) and Nicola Duffet (great in anything). I loved the gorgeous Yasmin from the corner shop and her handsome boyfriends - it felt very modern. Sad it failed.

Idris Elba got his lucky break in that soap, it was actually really good in its day.

Does chas look as if she suddenly has very loose skin on her face? Like she lost lots of weight but she hasn’t.

Chas has always kinda looked like that, IRL she likes to smoke, drink and diet, none of which are great for your looks. She looks at least 20 years older than her true age.

I hate her hairstyle again. She looked great when she came back from her ML but now it's gone back to how it was before she left.

The Corrie writers definitely read MN so I’d hazard a guess the Emmerdale writers do as well? Perhaps they’re looking to push ratings down?!

I enjoyed the Joe/Debbie/Dingle storylines but everything is very vanilla now isn’t it? Like the bob/laurel thing was rubbish, that will obviously blow up at the alter but other than that, it’s just dross.

I think Bob needs written out now, he’s a pointless character, and infact he always has been since Viv left.

We were so close to getting rid of chas and paddy. And then they go and make them pregnant! Why didn’t they just send them off to Mexico and they could die in a banana boating accident? Why did they need to have a baby? Why?

I have a feeling that won't be having a baby.

I'm one or two eps behind but the positivity about the scan and the potential for it being a girl makes me wonder if a mmc storyline is afoot.

Forgive me if I'm being dark, if it does happen I'm right id be interested to see how it's handled (I've had one myself you see)

Legend I wondered the same thing as they are making such a big deal out of her morning sickness and stress.

Plus, Chas and Paddy make a terrible couple, as do Pete and Rhona.

I think they only put Rhona with Pete so she could notice Ross's painkillers, but ultimately they will have her go back to Paddy. But he won't necessarily leave Chas if she has a baby, so I don't think that will happen either.

I believe they will lose the baby and Paddy will sleep with Rhona as a result.

They won’t just have a straightforward pregnancy because no one ever does in soap world.

It’s great how they highlight the heartbreak of miscarriage/older mums/ abortion etc etc but just for once it would be nice to have a bog standard planned pregnancy, no fertility issues, no scandal with the parents, just everyone happy.

Get rid of Bob I agree he’s a pointless character and Brenda, Daz, Paddy, get new people to run the coffee shop .

I was totally emotionless in the Chas and Paddy scenes tonight. I'm not rooting for them but the writers clearly want us to be.
