So Joe is the new lord of the manor, but who is Graham really.

Will this be the thread where Moira and Cain finally get back together

Will there be wedding bells for Bob and Brenda, I don't think so

Will Marlon and the head teacher get along nicely or will it end up going nowhere slowly until we all want to scream at the telly

What will Lachlan do next.....................................

Love tonight that even Gerry knows the Mill is Liv's place so not Robert's to sell.

Hygge · 06/04/2018 21:56

I suppose Laurel might be living off Ashley's life insurance?

Not sure if she still works at the sweet factory, that's where she used to work. Not sure if anybody works there now though, you never see anybody at work in there.

I hope Brenda puts a brick through that awful window before the unveiling. I don't like Brenda but I really, really dislike Laurel and Bob now. I was never overly fond of Laurel before to be fair though.

PrincessScarlett · 06/04/2018 22:10

Yes Brenda needs to stop being so wet and wreak havoc. There was promise tonight with what she whispered to Laurel at the end. I hope she lets them both have it.

JaneJeffer · 10/04/2018 10:49

The line from Bob to Laurel about how they've tried to stay away from each other but just can't was cringeworthy.

Graham doesn't seem too impressed with how Joe is treating Robert.

Charity was great.

I love that every time David goes on holiday he gets sunburn Grin

Frillyhorseyknickers · 10/04/2018 11:00

I really enjoyed last nights episode! I think Laurel is great when she gets some proper lines and the alcoholic storyline was well covered I thought, I like how they haven't forgotten about that!

The Rodney storyline was fucking weird though, nope no animal noises on Emmerdale.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 10/04/2018 12:32

The Rodney shit was appalling. Whoever wrote that needs to be sacked! Seriously, two grown adults grunting at each other in front of his daughters and grandchildren and then chasing his lover upstairs for a shag whilst they’re all standing downstairs! Awful.

JaneJeffer · 10/04/2018 12:35

I'm surprised Amy Walsh wasn't nominated instead of Lucy Pargeter who hasn't had much of a storyline since she returned with a personality transplant!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 10/04/2018 12:50

Oh definitely Amy Walsh should have been nominated. She played that horrible storyline so well.

I’ve also just found out that she is Kimberly Walsh’s sister! And their older sister Sally Walsh was also in emmerdale years ago!

HettySunshine · 10/04/2018 12:52

Is the Rodney stuff supposed to be funny? It's shameful. No half decent person (which Rodders was before he 'found himself') would behave like that in front of their young family.

Totally lowest common denominator, super lazy writing.

Hygge · 10/04/2018 12:53

I have not noticed that Chas Dingle has a personality, so she needs to get the money back for the transplant.

Unless she donated, in which case pity the poor person now wandering around the dales looking like there's a permanent nasty smell under their nose.

Scotschic · 10/04/2018 13:02

I think Emmerdale is utter rubbish atm and it’s cringey to watch so I’m bowing out of watching it for the foreseeable, I’ll watch this thread to see if it changes. They don’t deserve to win any awards this year I’m afraid.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 10/04/2018 13:07

Agree the dales has been scraping the barrel of storylines recently.

kikashi · 10/04/2018 13:18

Does Rodney live with Jimmy and Nicola (I thought he lived with Brenda)? Where does everyone sleep in that tiny house?

I agree it's pretty dire atm. I have only been half watching whilst multi tasking of late. Even my student DD's who like watching Emmerdale and Corrie with their breakfast haven't been bothering of late.

JaneJeffer · 10/04/2018 13:19

I love the Rodney nonsense. Patrick Mower makes me laugh and his silver jacket is brilliant Grin

HettySunshine · 10/04/2018 19:37

There's every such a lot of blondes in Emmerdale, have you noticed?

Charity
Vanessa
Tracey
Nicola
Brenda (ish)
Robert
Liv
Rebecca
Daz

Have I forgotten anyone?

Scotschic · 10/04/2018 20:53

I know I said I wouldn’t watch it Wink but there’s nothing else on.

What’s everyone thinking of Charity’s rape story?

Frillyhorseyknickers · 10/04/2018 21:00

I think it’s a rubbish story for charity because she’s not the most likeable character.

Jimmy really boils my piss, he’s so wet and drippy.

Where are they going to with the Ross and painkiller story, because they have literally just covered that in Corrie.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 10/04/2018 21:11

I actually like this storyline for charity because it gives us a bit of insight into why she is so harsh and aggressive. Also let’s us see a bit of vulnerability and a More human side to her. Her constant sarky remarks is very tiresome (and probably very tiresome to play for the actress) so it’s good to see something different from her.

Scotschic · 10/04/2018 21:51

Hasn’t Rhonda already had a painkiller addiction too?

Scotschic · 10/04/2018 21:51

*Rhona

JaneJeffer · 10/04/2018 22:09

I've always loved Charity and Emma Atkins is a brilliant actress who can make me laugh and cry. I don't think Vanessa should have reported it as its not her place to do so. Charity will be livid.

I also liked the Jimmy/Nicola story because it showed their closeness. I hope they handle it properly and don't turn it farcical as they are inclined to do with them.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 10/04/2018 22:16

Agree on both points jane.

Vanessa was massively out of line. Not her business to report it.

And yes, I like the jimmy and Nicola storyline. I used to really hate Nicola. I’ve warmed to her a good bit in the last few years.

LoveMySituation · 10/04/2018 22:27

I think Maxine Alderton, who wrote tonight's, is by far their best writer. She did the Robron reunion, along with lots of other Robron episodes, and will I reckon, do something in the summer Wink

JaneJeffer · 10/04/2018 22:41

She's very good at adding in lots of little details and refereeing to past episodes. I also love Paul Roundell's writing.

The boy who plays Elliot King is great little actor.

JaneJeffer · 10/04/2018 22:42
