Slightly copying the old thread's title...

Come on Corrie writers! Get a grip! This is the thread to moan about the utter tosh that we end up watching, or in some cases to praise the actors because some of them are actually pretty good! Let's discuss!

I was thinking that Anna will have a retrial and be found innocent, but now doubting it.
I know there is injustice out there, but it's hardly sending out the right message considering children as young as 9 watch it.

Olddear · 23/01/2018 09:06

I howled at the balloons saying 'Enry'

SilenceMeansWhatAreTheyUpTo · 23/01/2018 09:14

I howled at the balloons saying 'Enry'

So did I! Grin

Interesting that Enry sacked off his mate to stay at the party. Wondering if there's going to be a positive twist in this story? About time something good happened, what with all the other very dark storylines going on.

lou1221 · 23/01/2018 09:36

Something that's confused me, how is Phelan a landlord? I know he was Andy ll, but couldn't work out how he came by owning that flat. I'm sure he was broke when he came back on the street, prior to Vinny saga.

Why did Anna not shout at about Luke at the trial as she was going down? Seriously, I don't think they would allow Phelan to shout at her like that either. Eileen needs a bloody good shake, let's go back when he wags his finger. Urgh

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 23/01/2018 09:42

What is the whole story with ‘Enry? I know he was up to something with Gemma but what is it? Do we know?

Olddear · 23/01/2018 09:45

Think it might be he's going out with her for a bet

SymphonyofShadows · 23/01/2018 10:27

It's Jason's flat. He left it for Eileen to manage and Phelan has just wormed his way in to looking after it, he does any repairs etc.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 23/01/2018 10:36

I thought Jason Owned a flat above the Kabin? I remember him renovating one that I thought was above rotas kabin.

StopTheRoundabout · 23/01/2018 10:37

I think Alya and Kate live in Jason's flat because Eileen came around after Luke's memorial and mentioned it. Didn't he buy it with Sarah or Eva or someone else a couple of years ago?

CoolCarrie · 23/01/2018 11:35

As I posted earlier, I honestly think the directors are using Corrie to audition for Scandinavia thrillers !

QueenDaisy · 23/01/2018 12:08

I think ‘H’enry is starting to like/fall for Gemma, I like her, she makes me laugh Smile

SilenceMeansWhatAreTheyUpTo · 23/01/2018 12:11

I'm predicting Eileen will find the gun after Phelan puts it back in the toolbox because he knows she's already looked there. She'll need a screwdriver for something or other and will come across it quite innocently... Hmm just guessing

Comedyusername · 23/01/2018 12:11

I can't be bothered to catch up with last night's second episode but I gather Anna was found guilty. But when she went on the run and broke into Phelan's office, didn't she see in his diary that he was at an appointment and not on the street when Seb fell off his ladder? Surely she should have got her solicitor onto that? Along with dozy Rosie seeing Phelan in Adam's office...

And another of his misdemeanors that won't come out is him stealing Kevin's tow truck and selling it, with Andy his accomplice, unless Andy isn't really dead of course!

Sidsreadingdiary · 23/01/2018 12:13

I agree Silence, it seemed to be suggested that Henry chose to stay at the party with Gemma instead of meeting up with his mate Hugo.

I was really annoyed with Eileen too. Where is the intelligent and feisty character we saw previously?

The court case is a joke. The forensic evidence would not stand up to any scrutiny, nobody sought to corroborate or refute Phelan's testimony by asking Rosie or Adam whether Anna ever went into the office or has access to a key. I know that we have to allow for some poetic licence and suspension of disbelief but this is ridiculous.

Kikashi · 23/01/2018 12:33

I agree. No one questioned how Anna managed to gain entry to a locked solicitors office, go upstairs to the empty flat above it - open the sash windows (can they open?) reach out and grab the ladder - push it over with Seb on it , close the window, get out of the flat and be down to comfort Seb and ask for someone to phone an ambulance straight after his fall Hmm ad the only forensic "evidence" - the earring was found in the vacuum cleaner which Rosie had brought from home - a home that Anna visits. Made no sense whatsoever - even with the useful suspension of belief allowed for soaps.

HarperFrannie · 23/01/2018 13:34

That club Bethany works in is open some bizarre hours. Yesterday it seemed to be open on a Monday morning at the same time the street residents were getting ready to go to court & cleaning the pub before it opened, presumably for lunchtime. Who goes to a lapdancing club in the morning??

CoolCarrie · 23/01/2018 13:43

Men who work shifts?

Kikashi · 23/01/2018 13:54

It's a very demure lap dancing club. One girl listlessly was touching a pole a few episodes back but there has been no lap dancing and everyone is very well covered. Do they not offer "private dances"?Not many punters either.

Plumes · 23/01/2018 14:29

It's very small too, not enough room for them to thrust and gyrate about.

HarperFrannie · 23/01/2018 14:30

Oh of course, I didn't think about shift workers. I'm not that knowledgeable on lapdancing clubs - well you learn something new every day Grin It just seems a bit ... unseemly, don't know why, going to watch some lapdancing on a Monday morning when everyone is going to school or work (or court) Shock

Plumes · 23/01/2018 14:36

Pint in Wetherspoons then on to Big Babs Titty Bar for a morning ogle.

StopTheRoundabout · 23/01/2018 15:05

Henry might have another reason to stick around with Jemma... he met Rosie just before the phone call from Hugo. He might not be as innocent as they're making out.

ajandjjmum · 23/01/2018 16:12

I'm about to retire from Corrie - sad after half a century. I cannot stand this Phelan storyline.

woodhill · 23/01/2018 17:03

Yes 'Enry fancies Rawsie.

Anna's lawyer was pretty crap, couldn't Adam have helped?

woodhill · 23/01/2018 17:03

Or CSI for that matter
