Slightly copying the old thread's title...

Come on Corrie writers! Get a grip! This is the thread to moan about the utter tosh that we end up watching, or in some cases to praise the actors because some of them are actually pretty good! Let's discuss!

OP posts:

All Gary had to do was threaten to tell the authorities that Bethany is not yet 18. And why was he prioritising Bethany anyway, when his mother's court case was coming to an end?

Agree re open-door AA meeting. Unlikely.

Liked Rosie's "Red Line", I must admit. Although the party itself was pretty flat.

Is Debbie Rush leaving the show?

SpottyGecko · 22/01/2018 21:39

What on earth was Gemma dressed as??

thenightsky · 22/01/2018 21:41

I think they were all meant to represent pub names and Gemma was the Frog and Bucket or something.

EdithWeston · 22/01/2018 21:53

"when it becomes a stillborn baby"

24 weeks in English law. Later than that in the inaccurate world of Corrie as Tracey's twins which had passed that duration gestation were described as a miscarriage. That was a hurtful mistake by the writers.

Akire · 22/01/2018 22:01

Thanks Edith should have worked that out myself. Seems a bodge job for story line.

I didn’t get Gemma’s pub either. Why would Liz and others pay out money for his party?

millimat · 22/01/2018 22:07

It just gets worse Angry

millimat · 22/01/2018 22:16

Was the ending meant to be arty?

eddiemairswife · 22/01/2018 22:22

Gemma was Frogspawn and Bucket.
Was Gary in A and E when he was sitting with all the blood on his face?
Weird ending; as if they'd finished with time to spare.

SpottyGecko · 22/01/2018 22:34

Ah, frogspawn and bucket Grin

Thank you pp

Frillyhorseyknickers · 22/01/2018 22:40

Every single trial on Corrie they have to yell from the viewing gallery - that Just doesn’t happen in real life.

I feel really let down that the writers could drag this shit Phelan story on any longer, I’m another about to give up watching.

The Gemma storyline is fucking awful, the costumes were funny, loved Rosie as the Red Line.

magentastardust · 22/01/2018 23:13

Twitter is just full tonight of everyone begging the ridiculous Phelan story line to end. Coronation St must be aware that they are driving away viewers in droves , they need to sort it.

The Anna thing is ridiculous, how many prisons out there are full of innocent soap victims?

As this rumbles on and on is Eileen going to ever find out the full extent of what Phelan has done or will it all be skimmed over when he finally gets his comeuppance? Rape Anna, Nicola's mum, Killed Michael (sort of) , imprisoned Andy for 6 months and tortured him. Killed Andy, Killed Dave Glover from Emmerdale, Killed Luke...have I missed anything?

crazycatgal · 22/01/2018 23:30

How the hell was it proved beyond reasonable doubt that Anna pushed Seb? As if a jury would decide that she was guilty.

crazycatgal · 22/01/2018 23:32

Eileen is an absolute muppet as well. The whole Phelan story is doing my head in.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 22/01/2018 23:32

Can’t the DM get hold of this and run it as a story? MN on verge of revolt over complete bullshit storylines dreamed up in batshit land.

Akire · 22/01/2018 23:36

He also may have killed off Vinnys mum. The only hope is Eileen will go off wherever Todd is and she will tell the story and Todd can fill in some blanks.

Didn’t Todd know about flat scheme and kept quiet for some blackmail reason? There may have been something else.

Hope Bethany does move out - no more sardines!

LineyS · 22/01/2018 23:38

The club would be shut if an underage performer were erm performing. So the fact that no-one is reporting it is slightly unrealistic.

SymphonyofShadows · 23/01/2018 00:15

Wouldn't Craig have a duty to report it?

I'm not sure how it would work with Faye. I think she's 16 and living with her Dad and Stepmum. I have a feeling that when she had her forgotten baby it was mentioned that Tim was some sort of parental support along with Anna.

It really grinds my gears that Phelan got away with the Owen/money scam, I still don't understand that one. And then he supposedly lost it all when his wife divorced him, as he'd hidden it in her name. Why not kill her instead of going on a convoluted murdering spree?

ClimbingCatBells · 23/01/2018 00:24

Does Adam know that Billy was involved in the accident that killed Susan Barlow (Adam's Mum)?
Did anyone see what he was taking a photo of in the kitchen?

LineyS · 23/01/2018 00:33

You know when you stop caring...?

Ellie56 · 23/01/2018 01:53

Yes Adam knows. He took a photo of the pill packet I think.

lizzieoak · 23/01/2018 03:25

I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but is there any reason ITV would want to lose viewers and then have a reason to pack in Corrie? It’s either that, or that the writers/producer want to sexy up there cvs by adding crime show to their cv.

Interesting, thanks Smeaton. Force of habit though, I think? But it does seem perverse to plough on for this long with plots that people complain about in droves. I just can’t fathom the reasoning - just hubris?
