Did anyone catch this this morning? Same old format and a bit boring. It is long overdue a makeover.

However, I love it Blush

This is heartbreaking. The children don't deserve to be upset like this.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 19/01/2018 11:42

Dad would do anything for his kids. I suspect his ex wife walked all over him when they were together.

StripySocksAndDocs · 19/01/2018 11:43

Kid in the hat doesn't want to go.

witchofzog · 19/01/2018 11:43

This one is making me angry too. So the dad has to uproot his whole life too so his ex can live her dream. She is unbelievably selfish.

Do we have an update for this one? (I hope they didn't go)

dillite · 19/01/2018 11:43

So did they go in the end?

Bambooo · 19/01/2018 11:44

Do all of the kids have the same parents, or are some of them the children of one of the women and some the children of the other? I didn't catch that at the beginning.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 19/01/2018 11:45

Massive consideration for Kylie.

But not for the woman who is changing her kids’ lives forever? “We all have to vote for Australia”, can 7 year olds understand the consequences of such a major decision?

StripySocksAndDocs · 19/01/2018 11:46

Kylie was the girlfriend of the mum with four.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 19/01/2018 11:46

Bamboo, they are all the children of the one without dreadlocks.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 19/01/2018 11:49

DID you hear the update? ABout marriage equality law changes in Oz and ‘how did it affect the couple? We’ll find out when we catch up with them in a couple of years’ Hmm. Implying they actually went?

Bambooo · 19/01/2018 11:51

Thanks both

Facebook update:

The Ellis Waugh family are still living in Sunderland and Kylie and Rebecca are engaged to be married!

The renovation of their home is nearly finished and Kylie is now working full time in a school in the autism unit and Mary has started secondary school.

The children continue to excel in their sporting activities and Mary has had a promotion at swimming. Adam has now joined his sister with a love for swimming and joined her swimming club. Tim continues to dance nonstop and Ethan still loves his rugby and drama.

The Australian dream is still very much alive and with the recent changes to the immigration legislation the family are now redirecting their destination slightly to South Australia. We wish them the best for the future!

NancyDonahue · 19/01/2018 11:52

The person running the facebook page is having a busy morning!

OP posts:
DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 19/01/2018 12:15

[Hmm]

So 2 of the 4 are now at secondary school. They’ll need to crack on if they’re going, or they’ll have problems with disturbing the eldest’s GCSE prep. How long does the process take?

What about Dad? It sounded like he was going to go too, if they went over. What about his visa eligibility?

Madwomanwanted · 19/01/2018 12:26

So if dad was planning on going too that puts a totally different spin on it. Surely that was something they should have discussed/agreed before hand. And if he was going and they didn't do much time together shouldn't he have gone on the trial week? It sounded like he was going to turn his life upside down but his earnings, job prospects, living arrangements etc weren't even being considered!

CaraBosse1 · 19/01/2018 13:17

So if dad was planning on going too that puts a totally different spin on it

I believe that's what they call (on AIBU) a massive drip feed !

It's possible the dad is keen to go to Oz himself.

RebootYourEngine · 20/01/2018 18:54

When i started watching yesterdays episode i did wonder why the dad wasnt overly bothered about the children moving and they sneak in the reason during the f&f section. I bet if they revisit them in a couple of years the dad will be living in australia. Not sure if the mum and kids will be there.

NancyDonahue · 22/01/2018 11:22

Another 'paint dry' episode today... so far

OP posts:
LonelyOversharer · 22/01/2018 11:45

So, you can emigrate, take your dh and child on a work visa ? They glossed over very quickly that her job no longer qualified for an emigration type thing. Or are they just the same thing? What happens when her work visa runs out?

Bambooo · 22/01/2018 13:55

Very boring episode today. It looks like the main goal was for her to work part time: I'm sure they could achieve that in the UK.

Flizzz · 22/01/2018 17:10

i wonder if the lack of people actually making the move this series is because of the visa changes, the fact there isnt much time from filming programme to now to pack up and go or another reason. Im sure in previous years more people have usually made the move when it comes to the updates

phoenix1973 · 22/01/2018 19:09

We'll show them 2 properties within budget (which are shite), then 1 dream home (that the poor saps can't afford- bwah ha ha🤣🤣🤣)
They'll be gutted that spuds are 3 times the price, he'll only get pt work when he needs ft and she'll therefore continue with ft (the whole idea of Aus is so she can go pt).
But never mind, a day with the giraffes will sway them! 😂😂😂😂

salsamummy · 23/01/2018 20:35

why show them a house 200 grand over budget. Hmm

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 24/01/2018 11:14

Great views from this first house today. At least these people are an actual active outdoors family already. So many aren’t and come on WDU saying ‘Oh, we want to be able to go to the beach after work...’ and I find myself wondering how realistic that is once the novelty has worn off.

NancyDonahue · 24/01/2018 11:39

They are so rude about people's homes. They should save the rude comments for when the cameras are off Angry. Maybe the seller likes it, or can't afford to 'rip it all out'.

OP posts:
ISeeTheLight · 24/01/2018 11:43

They seem a lot more realistic about it than most families though.
