Anyone else excited by the start of the new 2017 series? I am! It's the law in our house to watch all these Christmas programmes - SCD, X Factor and Celeb.

I don't know who half the contestants are but I like Fizz (Corrie). And I can hardly bear to watch the high planks tonight...

As a veggie myself I was wondering what would happen if a veggie was voted to do one of the eating/drinking challenges??

I expect that they have to say that they will agree to do certain things if they are medically able to do so before they sign the contract. Being veggie is a choice, so I don't think they'd just be able to opt out.

Just tuning in to this now. Saw it's Shappi who goes, was shocked to see she's a comedienne - she doesn't strike me as a particularly 'funny' campmate, not that she should particularly have been in character of course, but she hasn't made me laugh once!

I've only been dipping in and out of this series but a couple of observations...

Do you think Toff will maintain that cheerful, positive "Jolly hockeysticks" attitude right to the end? It must be exhausting being that up-beat but then again I'm a miserable fucker when tired and hungry.

As for Becky I think she's going to increasingly come across as a hard-nosed, unforgiving and driven but not in a nice way. I think she's probably quite ruthless and will make enemies.

Iain seems very much on the edge. I wasn't expecting him to have that side to him as (from what I remember) he always came across as loud and confident on tv.

Much more interesting last night. The intrigue makes it all more engaging. Couldn't watch Toff gagging the night before - I ended up doing the same..

Why didn't Kez go? I don't understand Xmas Sad. I didn't want Shappi to go at all. I like her. Becky is at least entertaining if not particularly pleasant.

Is Dennis in on the 'short man' joke do you think? Was he prewarned? I find it very funny myself [fgin]

I like Becky - think she comes across as a strong driven woman who knows her own mind & takes no shit. She's not bitchy but goes for what she wants. Compared to the tabloid impression of her, I think she's coming across well.

Also really like Toff & Amir - both seem very genuine.
