Anyone else excited by the start of the new 2017 series? I am! It's the law in our house to watch all these Christmas programmes - SCD, X Factor and Celeb.

I don't know who half the contestants are but I like Fizz (Corrie). And I can hardly bear to watch the high planks tonight...

He gets paid regardless of whether he does trials or not. Last time I looked, waterboarding wasn't a sodding bushtucker trial.

Can anyone explain to me Dec’s jokes about Dennis Wise being small. I missed one episode near the start and don’t really get where the joke has come from. Did I miss something? Or is it just a really shit joke?

Yes the joke is that he's actually taller than Dec.

I cringed like hell watching poor Iain's trial yesterday. How could they expect him to fit through that tiny tank? I have felt that panic of not being able to breath and it's truly terrifying, I felt really awful for him.

I don’t find the Denis Wise jokes funny at all, and find them slightly uncomfortable. I almost feel it’s tantamount to bullying, was there any particular incident that sparked these jokes?

I agree, it's the thought that he is going to have to watch them back. Bad judgement from the usually wholesome and inoffensive Ant & Dec

It's more that Dec is poking fun at himself, they are the same height yet 'thinks' he's obviously much taller.
It's not a really funny joke but not particularly tricky to understand

And there’s Dennis' reputation as a bit of a hard nut...so it’s funny because Dec is inky brave enough to say it while DW is still in camp

I know Dec is short also so I wondered if maybe Dennis was shorter but makes sense what you’re all saying about them being the same height and that being the joke. I still think it’s a shit joke though and agree that it’s on the verge of bullying.

Just turned on after missing last night. I hate these bug trials and don't see why they can't do more like the Bushtucker Trials which are more interesting.

I completely forgot whatserface MP was in there until they showed her just now. I agree that they sometimes focus on just a few characters but OTOH some contestants are so dull I don't blame them for not showing more of them

I laughed at Amir saying dont tell anyone when he mentioned woman PM ! does he not realise he is been filmed ? on the extra show they said for the first few days he wasnt aware he was filmed in the hut, he thought it was just a chat to someone !
