I don't mind 'Edge of Heaven' too much for J and J- it could have been much worse.
Am very surprised at the choice for the Cutkelvins. At the beginning of the series, I thought they were one of the favourites, but Simon doesn't seem to be giving them much, and they are increasingly becoming the sister , with backing.

And BINGO! 'I can't make you love me' I can't stand that song- and it's Grace singing it- which means they really want her to win. it's such a favourite on these shows.

I think Rat Soup doing 'Faith' rather than Sam , means Sam is going home.

And hopefully, the title of Sobby's song is an omen

There are rumours that the quadruple elimination won't happen now. Which is good in a way, as it would probably have left us with Grace and Rat Soup for the next 4 weeks .

So- I'm off to check if dd1's football has been postponed, and then i need to sort out snacks for later.

I think it was Richard Carpenter that was creepy. There was a film made about them and I believe he was actually in love with her ( not in a sisterly way either ) i am not suggesting anything went on, but he seemed very controlling and her family were in denial about her anorexia problems for years. Its just my own observations. I like her voice but I just have an 'unhappy ' feeling about them all and I agree , the songs seem to be about a fantasy life rather than real life.

I think she has a haunting quality to her voice, there are a few of their songs that just remind me of events, sad story and agree on Richard, he was awful

I think I need to stay away from the X-factor. I have been sewing with PLEATHER!

Noisy I decided against getting squashed in the crowds of people, Did you go along to the Oracle switch on? That is usually brilliant.

Music I didn't but my boss did. I think the Oracle's switch on is more low-key this year (unless that's just what the Broad Street Mall people told me!)

I went to the post switch on reception thingy and got chatting with Jack & Joel again and told them that they've got the Mumsnet seal of approval. They seemed quite pleased about that

They think Lloyd will win (nan vote) but Rat Soup are their favourites. Apparently the Soup sound much better live than on TV.
