I know it's early- but I've got a football packed morning with dd1. If it's not postponed. And I saw the song choices last night- so have been itching to share them. My bingo card has some crosses on it Grin.

Overs
Kevin Davy White
Fastlove Pt 1

Matt Linnen
Careless Whisper

Boys
Sam Black
I'm Your Man

Lloyd Macey
A Different Corner

Groups
The CutKelvins
Killer / Papa Was A Rollin' Stone

Jack & Joel
The Edge Of Heaven

Rak-Su
Faith

Sean & Conor
Freedom '90

Girls

Grace Davies
I Can't Make You Love Me

Holly Tandy
One More Try

Rai-Elle Williams
They Won't Go When I Go

Alisah Bonaobra
Praying For Time

I don't mind 'Edge of Heaven' too much for J and J- it could have been much worse.
Am very surprised at the choice for the Cutkelvins. At the beginning of the series, I thought they were one of the favourites, but Simon doesn't seem to be giving them much, and they are increasingly becoming the sister , with backing.

And BINGO! 'I can't make you love me' I can't stand that song- and it's Grace singing it- which means they really want her to win. it's such a favourite on these shows.

I think Rat Soup doing 'Faith' rather than Sam , means Sam is going home.

And hopefully, the title of Sobby's song is an omen Grin

There are rumours that the quadruple elimination won't happen now. Which is good in a way, as it would probably have left us with Grace and Rat Soup for the next 4 weeks .

So- I'm off to check if dd1's football has been postponed, and then i need to sort out snacks for later. Grin

What with all the crying and stuff Grin

LineysRum · 12/11/2017 21:05

I agree the ping pong comments aren't nice, Mrsfloss.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 12/11/2017 21:05

Yes, crisis ship.

I'm still sore at J & J going.

LineysRum · 12/11/2017 21:07

Will J&J not even get onto the tour? I think they'd be Such Fun.

Raahh · 12/11/2017 21:09

I am only 4ft 8. I should get a job with Simon, I know way more than it seems he does about the modern music scene. And I'm very short.

Winner. Grin

I liked her, thought she had a lovely clear voice. She just sang songs nicely, without feeling the need to rap halfway through or wear a hat backwards.

You are my Mum in 1994 Grin Grin

The80sweregreat · 12/11/2017 21:20

Raahh, id love you to get a job with Si and co! Get in.

I would love to meet Dermot, but im 5ft8 and overweight and old so i doubt he would want to meet me! Shame really.
I do love him.
Watching the EMAs and shawn is on there nancy..just saying

Raahh · 12/11/2017 21:25

Squoosh Grin

80s it would be brilliant. I could just sit under the desk during the live shows Grin

I want to watch the tennis, but the bbc are only showing the afternoon matches at the tour finals. Bastards. Bet it would be different if Murray was playing. I don't like Murray .

Raahh, awww..andy is a dad again. Another girl. I wonder if they will be any good at tennis or just have swishy hair like their mum? I i imagine a racket will be bought once they can walk though!

Raahh · 13/11/2017 08:33

this morning, and dd1 wanted to know who left ( she got bored before the end last night), She is now convinced that Sobby will somehow re-appear Grin.

Did I miss what next week's theme was, or didn't they say?

I now really want to know who the others were in the what would have been the bottom 2. And would we have missed them if they had left? Grin I'm still baffled as to how Sean and Conor, and Sam are still hanging on in there.

The irish lads are popular but i cant see why really.
Sam is okay, as is Matt. both a bit meh, but harmless enough. not keen on Holly really - Simon was right that she needs to be more 16 than 40.she can sing.
Rat - su will probably win it all though, they seemed to be the ones being pushed along with Rai-elle.
Kevin i do really like, but not sure who would buy his records? I dont care who wins it all, but the show needs a shake up.

nancy75 · 13/11/2017 09:11

Morning all, doesn’t look like I missed much last night? Happy to hear sobby has left the building!

starlight36 · 13/11/2017 09:19

Theme next week is 'Crazy in Love' - think Dermot muttered something about all the emotions of falling in and out of love. Quite a flexible theme so they can all fulfil Simon's new wishes of being 'relevant' and the artist they are going to be!

Raahh · 13/11/2017 09:21

I'm surprised really by Rat Soup- I don't think they are very good, I mean they look the part, but rely heavily on backing and over-production. When they first appeared, they were just another 'boy band' with a name i misheard. To see them now be the favourites, is a bit odd.
I thought the Cutkelvins would do better, but they do seem to have lost their way a bit.

I like Kevin, at least his voice is different to the others, and he's not relying on the usual songs .

I think ditching the double elimination was a way to get back control- the GBP were probably in danger of voting off one of Simon's preferred acts, so he's bought them some time.

I am not keen on Holly- and the contrast between her and Rai-elle, when they are both the same age more or less, is huge. I would have thought Rai-Elle would be the more marketable.

Raahh · 13/11/2017 09:23

starlight really? well that means they can sing absolutely anything then Grin.

JaneJeffer · 13/11/2017 09:25

Just caught up on the bits I missed. There was definitely something off with the sound but that could have been TV3's fault, maybe it was fine on ITV as no one else seems to have noticed.

Sobby didn't sob when she got voted off! I thought she would have to be dragged off the stage Grin

Next week's theme is "crazy in love". I think the emphasis will be on crazy.

I wish they'd put it on earlier.

JaneJeffer · 13/11/2017 09:33

Raahh Just realised that I forgot all about Holly so I'm watching her now. I thought she did well. Sort of Sandie Shaw vibe.

I see I missed the Jesus & Mary Chain chat. I went to see them in '88. The mosh pit was crazy.

You know it wouldn't surprise me if Lloyd won this year!

Raahh · 13/11/2017 09:41

Oh, I hope lloyd doesn't win. although I'm not sure why I care Grin

There wasn't much moshing at the JAMC gig. Mainly because most of the hall was full of people in their mid 40's plus Grin.

It was a very student-y gig, though. But it was at Manchester Academy. Stank of stale booze, and the floors were sticky.

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 13/11/2017 09:50

The 40-something pelvic floor is not suited to moshing Grin

Raahh · 13/11/2017 09:54

Jane mine can barely manage the rigors of a sedate walk Grin

I dont mind Lloyd, but he is a bit too musical theatre. He reminds me of the that other welsh guy with the blond hair ( Ryan, or something like that) who was turned down for the Joseph show on BBC. He didnt win, but got to the semi final i think??
similar kind of act.

Raahh · 13/11/2017 11:01

Now, I liked Rhydian. He was good- but more operatic, a much better voice than Lloyd's. Sharon really didn't 'get' him- she was always very rude about him. He came second to Leon Jackson- he was robbed. Grin. he did a lovely version of 'O Holy night' back when they did prper Christmas stuffGrin
