I know it's early- but I've got a football packed morning with dd1. If it's not postponed. And I saw the song choices last night- so have been itching to share them. My bingo card has some crosses on it Grin.

Overs
Kevin Davy White
Fastlove Pt 1

Matt Linnen
Careless Whisper

Boys
Sam Black
I'm Your Man

Lloyd Macey
A Different Corner

Groups
The CutKelvins
Killer / Papa Was A Rollin' Stone

Jack & Joel
The Edge Of Heaven

Rak-Su
Faith

Sean & Conor
Freedom '90

Girls

Grace Davies
I Can't Make You Love Me

Holly Tandy
One More Try

Rai-Elle Williams
They Won't Go When I Go

Alisah Bonaobra
Praying For Time

I don't mind 'Edge of Heaven' too much for J and J- it could have been much worse.
Am very surprised at the choice for the Cutkelvins. At the beginning of the series, I thought they were one of the favourites, but Simon doesn't seem to be giving them much, and they are increasingly becoming the sister , with backing.

And BINGO! 'I can't make you love me' I can't stand that song- and it's Grace singing it- which means they really want her to win. it's such a favourite on these shows.

I think Rat Soup doing 'Faith' rather than Sam , means Sam is going home.

And hopefully, the title of Sobby's song is an omen Grin

There are rumours that the quadruple elimination won't happen now. Which is good in a way, as it would probably have left us with Grace and Rat Soup for the next 4 weeks .

So- I'm off to check if dd1's football has been postponed, and then i need to sort out snacks for later. Grin

Yes George was brilliant at taking the piss out of himself!

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 12/11/2017 20:43

Oh, Raah, I am jealous! Never got to see J&MC, missed out a couple of times. Were they good? (Or even almost gold, as autocorrect tried to sufgest!)

Roussette · 12/11/2017 20:43

Is Paloma meant to be the body of a spider? What's with the tentacle things

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 12/11/2017 20:43

Oh, Raah, I am jealous! Never got to see J&MC, missed out a couple of times. Were they good? (Or even almost gold, as autocorrect tried to sufgest!)

Alwaysinmyheart · 12/11/2017 20:43

WTF IS SHE WEARING?

Raahh · 12/11/2017 20:43

Why have they got Paloma on?

And why is she 'singing' in an affected manner?

Are they going to tap her up for a judges's role?

The diction tonight is shocking. Grin

Well they would kill each other trying to over affect their voices.

NoisyBrain · 12/11/2017 20:44

raahh haha I remember you going to JAMC!

Considering how many of us like the darker side of music, it's quite something that we all end up on the X Factor thread Grin

LineysRum · 12/11/2017 20:44

It's very Dr Who. Or something.

squoosh · 12/11/2017 20:44

Raahh most important for one's romantic partner to have decent taste in music I think!

dillite · 12/11/2017 20:44

I hate the thing that she does with her mouth

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 12/11/2017 20:45

Glad to see they have caged her. She seems a bit unhinged

dillite · 12/11/2017 20:45

I have a confession to make- x-factor is the only music I listen to during the week.

Alwaysinmyheart · 12/11/2017 20:46

My DP likes Chris de Bleugh. I don't tell anyone as I'd be mortified! He's v nice to me tho so I can forgive him that. Just as long as I never have to listen to it myself....

squoosh · 12/11/2017 20:48

Oh Always I'd genuinely find it easier to cope with finding out my beloved had a criminal past than was a fan of De Bleurgh.

My thoughts are with you.

LineysRum · 12/11/2017 20:48

OH loves Chris de Burgh too. Fortunately the fairly innocuous older stuff, which is ok, before he got delusions of talent.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 12/11/2017 20:49

My DH has decidedly dodgy taste in music. He does like some good stuff, but then appals me by liking something awful. Left to my own devices I would listen to music a lot more, if DH is home the tv is generally on. If he is away, I have tv off and music on

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 12/11/2017 20:49

Paloma's hard work isn't she.

Piggywaspushed · 12/11/2017 20:49

I used to get him mixed up with Chris Rea. They're both a bit creepy.

WellErrr · 12/11/2017 20:49

Who's gan yem then??

Raahh · 12/11/2017 20:50

Platypus dh is the fan, but actually I really enjoyed myself Grin. I remembered a lot more if their stuff than I thought I would. I felt both 'really old' and a bit like a student, it was at the Academy (ithink) .Grin

The support acts were hilariously bad- and we were stood near a couple- the bloke looked like a 70's porn star type, (curly hair, tache, tweed suit!) and she was taller than him. They were in their 40's , same as us. And at one point exclaimed 'We will always have the Mary Chain, my love'

My pelvic floor nearly collapsed Grin

I used to hate Lloyd type acts, but now I have come full circle and am so sick of them trying to make people edgy and current that I positively relish just seeing a nice boy sing a nice song nicely.

Alwaysinmyheart · 12/11/2017 20:50

Thanks for your condolences, it wd def have been a dumping offence in the past but now I'm old I appreciate someone who makes me a cuppa in the morning, cooks for me, is faithful and kind, rather than someone who is cool but a shit!

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 12/11/2017 20:50

Thanks all for your kind words. Music definitely is a powerful thing. Instead of making a Photobook or similar for his funeral, I made a compilation album of songs I knew he loved, or that reminded us of him, and included some of his own songs that he wrote and recorded. I gave out copies in return for donations for a charity he used. They are using the donations to set up music/guitar group lessons for people with mental health problems.

If I need a good cry (which we all do sometimes) there are certain songs that will set me off without fail. George’s ones mainly at the moment! I am having a bit of a moment now actually. I blame the George videos! 😊

LineysRum · 12/11/2017 20:50

OH also has the checkered past thing going on as well, I haven't even got that comfort. I said I'd dump him I find him watching Jim Davidson, though.
