Friends never got it and I lived with a group of friends who watched episodes back to back on a Sunday after a weekend clubbing. Confused

cloudchasing · 04/11/2017 13:38

I don't understand the GoT hate at ALL.

Imo, it's easily the best TV series that's ever been. It's clever, intricate, compelling and exciting, nothing like the tits and ass reputation the haters seem to give it.

My overrated ones are Mrs Brown's Boys, which is actually painful to watch, any soaps, and Top Gear. I actually hate all the presenters though, especially Jeremy Clarkson, the massive fucking bellend.

pollywollydoodle · 04/11/2017 15:52

The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones..tedious

TossDaily · 04/11/2017 15:54

Fawlty Towers.

Hate it. I just want Basil to shut the fucking fuck up.

TossDaily · 04/11/2017 15:55

Also The West Wing.

Sentimental, nationalistic hogwash.

TossDaily · 04/11/2017 15:55

And Frasier.

Very badly written, imo.

TaylorTinker · 04/11/2017 15:59

The jungle one with celebrities. Big Brother. Anything with Simon Cowell at the helm. All like watching paint dry.

greendale17 · 04/11/2017 16:00

Orange is the new black
Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones
The Office

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 04/11/2017 16:00

Lost
Mrs Browns Boys
Game of Thrones
The Office
The Great Britsh Bake Off

TaylorTinker · 04/11/2017 16:01

Mrs Brown's boys is weird.

New Poldark was disappointing.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 04/11/2017 16:01

British. Even when it's spelt wrong it's still crap.

greendale17 · 04/11/2017 16:01

Friends

TaylorTinker · 04/11/2017 16:01

Frasier makes me laugh.

Vagndidit · 04/11/2017 16:06

Nope! I am thoroughly Wink at the suggestion that Frasier is anything other than brilliant. It is one of the few sitcoms that can still genuinely make me laugh. Although, I am American and it may appeal to a certain level of humour

Also cannot stand Game of Thrones, Mrs Brown, Strictly or any other competitive reality show. Oh, and Only Fools and Horses.

TaylorTinker · 04/11/2017 16:07

I agree on Fawlty Towers. It was always overrated imo and it looks worse as it ages.

JustDanceAddict · 04/11/2017 16:14

Mrs Brown is hideous.

fussychica · 04/11/2017 16:30

Looks like Mrs Brown is a clear winner - how is dressing up as a woman as a premise for a show even acceptable on TV these days? Perhaps we should send this thread to the BBC.

Top Gear - every show is pretty much a repeat of the last

The Wire - expected to love it but I couldn't hear/understand the dialogue so gave up.

However, I love GoT, Breaking Bad and Big Bang unlike many of you.

fussychica · 04/11/2017 16:34

Agree Frasier is brilliant, probably my favourite ever sitcom except the season with Millicent Martin and Anthony LaPaglia, that was utter crap.

Wheelerdeeler · 04/11/2017 16:40

Fr Ted

Teddy1970 · 04/11/2017 16:41

Miranda and Mrs Brown's boys.....awful

KinkyAfro · 04/11/2017 16:47

Any reality tv show
The big bang theory, totally unfunny
Friends
The walking dead

mydogisthebest · 04/11/2017 16:53

Mrs Brown's Boys
Miranda
X Factor
Britain's Got Talent

I love Big Bang Theory and Frasier. I've seen all the Frasier episodes at least twice but they still make me laugh if I watch them on tv

mnpeasantry · 04/11/2017 17:08

The Sopranos. So boring!!

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 04/11/2017 17:20

I think this thread shows just how huge a difference there is on what people enjoy. I love Frasier (and Father Ted - who the feck can dislike that!), but the programmes on my list appear to be beloved by many (deluded fools) Grin

fishchipspeasandgravy · 04/11/2017 17:20

Friends. Unlikeable characters and cringeworthy plots
Only Fools and Horses. Mean humour, unpleasant.
Game of Thrones. I just don’t get it.
Eastenders. People shouting at each other for half an hour.
