Friends

MASH. So smarmy and unfunny but thinks it's oh so clever.

Closely followed by Friends. How did anyone think this was funny? Or like those dim-witted, self-obsessed, unrealistic morons?

GypsieQueen · 04/11/2017 06:31

The last leg. I find the three of them so boring.

abbsisspartacus · 04/11/2017 06:45

Lost
The walking dead
Never seen game of thrones so I can't comment

The soaps corrie etc total sensationalist drival

flumpybear · 04/11/2017 06:49

Lanaa · 04/11/2017 06:54

Miranda, utter shite. I can’t see how anyone thinks it is funny.
Friends. See above.
Celebrity Juice. It’s inane rubbish.

Biggreygoose · 04/11/2017 08:10

Breaking bad. Gilmore girls. Lost. Mrs brown's boys. GoT. Last season of Sherlock. Big Bang Theory.

Biggreygoose · 04/11/2017 08:11

Anything with Keith Lemon

MargotLovedTom1 · 04/11/2017 09:30

Whatever, Nancy. That's your opinion and you're welcome to it. I didn't bother watching it because I'd read similar before, but then friends encouraged me to give it a try and I found it to be one of the most thrilling, absorbing, involving and emotional things I've ever seen.

Yes, there are too many gratuitous scenes of female nudity etc in the early seasons, but for me, the good completely outweighed the bad.

charliebear78 · 04/11/2017 10:15

Definitely Lost!
The years I won't get back-and I'm still as confused by the whole thing as I was when it first started.

Don't agree with the hate for TWD(or Strictly lol)

PurplePumpkinHead · 04/11/2017 10:19

Mrs Browns Boys
Big Bang Theory
Any soap

InternetHoopJumper · 04/11/2017 10:42

@Fleasinholidayhome

Omg, I came here to post the exact same thing. Game of Thrones sucks. They could have something really interesting, but they clearly have no faith in their writing as they obscure it with so much (random) sex and violence.

A close second is Downton Abbey. I really liked the attention to detail and the conflicts they started out with, but quickly noticed that only the first and last episode of each season had any plot at all. The plot is on pause for a whole season, every season and all we get to see is the details of running the house, which gets old really quickly. The Titanic disaster? The First War World? New Technology? Suffrage? All just backdrops to the goddamn house and that boring family with their bland romances and bland drama. I did enjoy the Christmas parody though.

Strummerville · 04/11/2017 10:53

Agree Margot. People do like to stick the boot into GoT. I mean, it's fine not to like it, same as anything else, but whinging on about it being just boobs and blood for teenage boys is silly. I don't love the nude-women-as-scenery in the early seasons, and it has its duff episodes, but when it's good, oh boy is it good.

I think a thread like this can be interesting if everyone sticks to "I think X is overrated because..." and avoids going on to "...and anyone who likes X is an idiot / no sense of humour / not as clever and cultured as me."

My vote goes to The Big Bang Theory for most overrated!
I loooooooove Rick and Morty, though, which someone mentioned.

ArbitraryName · 04/11/2017 10:58

Girls. Every single character in it was utterly, irredeemably awful. Yet the Guardian wrote approximately 3 articles a week about how amazing it was.

I hate crazy ex girlfriend too. The songs are painful.

BexleyRae · 04/11/2017 11:03

All the shit classics that DP watches
Only fool's and horses
On the buses

Keeping up appearances

You would think he was in his 60s, but he's 29

MrsJayy · 04/11/2017 11:06

Celebrity juice WTAF they all hehaw and laugh at wank jokes.

GoT I just don't gettit

confused123456 · 04/11/2017 11:12

The old sit coms are the best. I'm only 24 and I watch them.
And Mrs browns boys, one of the best shows on telly. Ever. I love it. The live show was even better

DrHarleenFrancesQuinzel · 04/11/2017 11:13

Coronation street - the acting is just soooo bad
Celebrity juice - its just very egotistical and loves itself a bit too much

Having said that I dont really watch TV much at all. Id quite happily get rid of it from my life, but DH and 2 out of the 3 DC's would have something to say about that.

lljkk · 04/11/2017 11:20

Friends: Revive every gag from any other Sitcom on air in previous 50 yrs, this time in the context of vain selfish uninteresting pretty white young people in NYC.

The Big Bang Theory is near second. Clever man wearing obscure-reference-geek-shirts is very rude to everyone else. For no decent reason they put up with it.

I'd rather have a thread about good shows, though. Ones that stopped too soon or you loved even when others didn't.
