That is meant to say "on the front" not friend

Flowerfan · 21/11/2017 09:10

Brilliant magi and Congratulations on your wedding anniversary and your DH’s birthday
I like his comment about CJ.💐

Ilovelblue · 21/11/2017 10:51

Magi congratulations! A great achievement. Your husband clearly feels no threat from CJ either!

Congratulations Magi & DH
60 yrs that's amazing as somehow 1957 doesn't seem so long ago.....well I was born in early 70s.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 21/11/2017 15:08

Because of your user name I thought you were 33.
Well we all sound like we're in our early 30s. That's what age I'm at in my head.......though some days I feel more like 6 or 106 Smile

Magi84 · 21/11/2017 16:41

Thanks everyone. Yes Tracy I agree my age in my head is completely different to the one the mirror tells. Just solve that one by not looking often.

Certainly being part of the OG crowd is really great as like many people on here have mentioned in the past it seems difficult to find fellow 'fanatics" in RL. I don't do too badly though as my eldest grandson's girl friend is CJ mad too so we pounce on each other for a chat whenever we do meet up and we text a lot. My two daughters-in-law and my daughter just say things like "Oh I saw a mention of that bloke you like" and then have a quiet giggle to themselves at the thought of it. Who cares I've got you lot to keep me going.

Rhubarb01 · 21/11/2017 18:51

Evening all!

Magi congratulations on your diamond anniversary and I have to say that your tale warmed my cockles considerably especially your DH's lovely comment about your good taste in men! Well, they say age is just a number and I tell my kids you don't feel different in your mind you just have the benefit of knowing a bit more than you did. They say youth is wasted on the young, don't they!

There was a little piece in the new RT magazine for next week about OG. It was only in the readers letters and questions section at the back where they had answered a couple of questions about where it was filmed and also what's happening in the next series. Nothing that we don't already know but it was nice to see them giving it a nod for once.

eejittwo · 21/11/2017 19:54

ilove - I may be hallucinating again, but I was sure that someone had posted a pic of LP as D'Artagnan for comparative purposes a few pages back. I went to look for it, but couldn't find it, and reckoned you would be more likely than most to know if it was there (and where!)

Magi84 · 21/11/2017 20:07

Thanks Rhu - it is nice to find the odd snippet about OG from time to time. I often wonder why it doesn't get more coverage even when it is actually on. Other series certainly do, sometimes too much. It would be nice to get some clue as to how far into next year it is going to be before the next four episodes air. I certainly hope some sort of mention of Molly comes about but somehow I feel a little pessimistic about that lately.

On a different tack - meant to mention that like you I was team Aramis in the Musketeers, didn't take to LP as D'A. Began to think TB as Athos was OK too though.

Am enjoying your P&P fanfic by the way.

Rhubarb01 · 21/11/2017 20:23

Thanks Magi. The story has turned into a bit of a monster really Grin that is it seems to be getting longer and longer and at times I do wonder what possessed me. I will get there in the end, though, even if it takes a while.

Glad to find a fellow Aramis fan - I don't care for beards much but I can make the occasional exception. agree that I didn't mind Athos too much either. I liked the actor in Strike as well. He has nice eyes!

Ilovelblue · 21/11/2017 20:37

eejit it wasn't me who may have posted a photo of LP as D'Artagnan as I never watched The Musketeers. I did find a number on the internet though. How does this one look?

Of course, as a major Elvis Harte fan, I have to counter the D'Artagnan photo with one of my favourites of Elvis.

I also like this one which appeared somewhere a while ago (genuinely can't remember where it turned up) but obviously this scene of Elvis and his canine friend never made it through to the actual series. Oh to be that little dog!

Thanks, ilove, maybe it was Rhu, then?
Didn't have any objection to any of the other Musketeers either, and wept buckets at the death of Treville. Also (apologetic cough) at the deaths of Leofric and of Erik the All-right (Last Kingdom) - could there be a pattern emerging here?
And I do love that pic of Elvis - it was a lovely scene with CJ, wasn't it?

Ilovelblue · 21/11/2017 20:54

Yes, there were two scenes where Elvis made my heart flip over and that was one of them. The other was a few minutes later when he was talking to Georgie, just after CJ had received the information about the helicopter being grounded. The grime on his face only made him more appealing in my very humble opinion.

Quiet on here today?

We've had torrential rain for the majority of the day here in the North West. The bottom of my garden has flooded which it does only very rarely. It reminds me of the Christmas before last when a village only 5 miles away was under water and the RAF helicopters had to plug the riverbanks with sandbags. Fortunately, it's supposed to be better tomorrow and will give the rain a chance to drain away.

Alwaysfrank · 23/11/2017 08:22

Just reading about flooding in your neck of the woods ilove - hope it's only your garden affected.

Magi84 · 23/11/2017 09:37

Hope things are OK for you Ilove with the flooding. Garden is bad enough hope it hasn't got worse.

Flowerfan · 23/11/2017 11:32

I hope the water is subsiding I have just seen the pictures in the Daily Mail. It brings back horrific memories of December 2015 when our business was washed away down the river Aire. I never want to see such destruction again as it was absolutely terrifying. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by flooding every time we see it. New ff today about elvis and Georgie don’t read it anywhere public!!❤️

Ilovelblue · 23/11/2017 12:02

Thanks for your concern ladies but the worst flooding was about twenty miles further north. The river near me is a mile away and would have to travel uphill to get to my house fortunately. Only a mile or so west though it is very flat and lots of market gardens. This was one of many fields flooded around there an hour ago.

BTW - just been re-watching. Is it me, or does Rab remind anyone else of Clinger from MAS*H?

Ilovelblue · 23/11/2017 23:59

I never watched MASH eejit* but I Googled the character earlier and yes, I can see what you mean!

I've been rewatching episode 3 tonight - so much for weaning myself off it!

Sometimes you need a bit of diversion therapy ILove Wink

eejittwo · 24/11/2017 18:01

Since you have been re-watching episode 2, ilove, maybe you can solve a problem for me.
What happens to the soldier who more or less steps on the IED? Looks like he got a bit of leg blown off, but when she gets there, Georgie's much more concerned about Rab and, in due course, Dyno. Any ideas?

Delphin · 24/11/2017 21:42

eejit, AFAIR the men carry a bed into the shelter first, and the man who is placed on it seems to be the Vallon guy who triggered the IED. Then Rab is led inside and sits down to the right, and only then the second bed is being brought and Dyno is placed on it (and later hauled off it again, when Captain James arrives with Azizi).

Ilovelblue · 24/11/2017 22:22

eejit is this the same man as sits opposite Dyno in the final episode and they are giving each other filthy looks?

I've got to admit that normally these "shoot to kill, high octane testosterone laden" gun fights are absolutely not me so I suppose I've tended to gloss over those scenes in episode three.

Episode THREE ffs, the name is appropriate!
