Peter Kay tickets, I believe are on sale at 10am tomorrow (19th). But do check his website just in case Smile

Ilovelblue · 18/11/2017 22:31

Sorry I had to give up on the commentary. No idea why MN kept crashing - all the other sites I use seem to be ok.

Talking of Peter Kay, if anyone was a Car Share fan, I believe he's doing another two episodes, having sworn the last series was the end of it.

It'll be odd tomorrow night not doing a watchalong. Maybe I will have withdrawal symptoms.

Love you're spot on re Car Share.
One episode wraps up the ending of the last series & we find out what does happen with Kayleigh & John.
The other episode is a one off totally unscripted not connected to any of the other episodes as Peter & Sian wanted to see how it would turn out.

Anyway back to OG, doesn't it seem like something's missing on Tuesdays at 9pm?

Flowerfan · 19/11/2017 10:38

And then there was on
I agree I feel it feels really strange without OG I think I will watch some of OG 1 tonight as I think DH is going out. The next two weekends are fully booked. DD here next weekend for friends 50th and the weekend after my 75th !!! Where has it all gone. At least OG and a certain Captain has made me feel young and daft again 🤗🥂😍

ONE

Magi84 · 19/11/2017 10:55

Hi Flower - definitely getting withdrawal symptoms with no OG. Like you I often resort to series 1 and love it. My DVD probably needs replacing it has been played so much.

Congratulations on that milestone birthday too. It's good to be in company with someone who can appreciate a hunk like CJ and let it make you feel young again. My user name tells you my age. Unfortunately it goes up in January but I'm sticking with this number..

Flowerfan · 19/11/2017 13:27

Brilliant Magi yes I think I will stick with this one as well. The silly thing is it’s the first ‘Fan club’ type thing I’ve ever joined. Perhaps second childhood is true. I have certainly enjoyed all the chat and banter over the last three years. 🦌🦌🦌🌲

Ilovelblue · 19/11/2017 21:54

Evening ladies. I thought I was mad at 55 having a post menopausal crush on two fictional characters but 75 and 85, well I don't feel so bad now (though I don't think you view Elvis in quite the same light as I do!

Magi I thought from your ID that you were born in 1984, not that you were 84 years young! Every credit being on here!

I do feel at a bit of a loss with OG having finished but tonight, after I came in from the garden when it was going dusk, I sat and watched the new DVD and laughed numerous times at the outtakes. Flower you have the DVD, don't you? When 2 Section are listening to Kingy talking about his daughter and Elvis (I think it's him) walks past, he says something about a chihuahua on a piece of string. What on earth is all that about?

OP posts:
Flowerfan · 19/11/2017 22:12

I wondered where and what that was about but still haven’t figured it out. Will have to do some more research!! I’m a willing students on all things OG 😁😁

Flowerfan · 19/11/2017 22:20

I was very pleased to find a similar age buddy on this crazy site. OG has certainly got fans of all ages I think it was because of OG 1 having such a good story between MD and CJ, who am I kidding, a handsome captain is the answer I think 😬👵

kazzaD66 · 19/11/2017 22:42

Did anyone watch the Strictly results show tonight? I have to admit I had a bit of a tear in my eye when Jonnie and Oti gave their farewell speeches. I thought he was very gracious and thought he was lovely when he thanked the judges for not making allowances for him but for treating him just the same as the other contestants, which was all he wanted. Bless him Smile

Ilovelblue · 19/11/2017 22:48

Tracy my neighbours went online this morning to buy some Peter Kay tickets for the Manchester date and they were £90 each! Something happened and either it was their internet that went down or it was deliberate by the agency but when they went back in to try again, the tickets had gone up to £121 each! At that point they both agreed it was a ridiculous price and didn't bother.

kazza I'm glad I wasn't the only one who cried when the pair of them were voted off Strictly. I thought he was incredibly gracious in defeat, yes. (I guess most of the sportsmen and women we've seen on there are very gracious when they leave). It's amazing how well he has done. I can't ever imagine being so good, and that's with two feet!

Who do you think will be in the final? My friend and I have bets on Gemma, Debbie and Alexandra (plus Aston who bit the dust a couple of weeks ago). I do think Davood and Joe are improving week on week as well. I quite like Gemma and Debbie is obviously getting the "older" vote. Not struck on Alexandra if I am honest.

Thanks Ilove and Flowerfan - I love this thread and lurked on it from 2014 and only got brave enough to post fairly recently since I realised what a friendly and welcoming lot you are.

It's definitely Captain J for me but can appreciate Elvis's appeal also just not so strongly. Was very very sad at the end of series 3 though. I might get the DVD now though as the out takes sound intriguing.

Watched Strictly too and was sorry to see JP go, a lovely lad.

Magi84 · 20/11/2017 07:56

Kazza - just to update you about my fanfiction app and the possibility of moving a story on from there. Well it doesn't look promising as my son very quickly looked it over for me and it seems my mini IPad does not have enough iOS (whatever that may be, enough to make your head spin!) to be able to do anything much. However he may be able to rectify that some time in the future. Just thought I'd let you know I'd tried.

I would just say here I love the fanfiction and the recent upsurge of more CJ/MD stories has been much appreciated.

kazzaD66 · 20/11/2017 09:20

Ilove is it 3 in the final? In previous years, they've swapped it around a bit, with just 2 sometimes, might even have been 4 one year? I'd like to see Joe in the final, although Katya can be a bit full on sometimes. I'm assuming Alexandra will be there - it would be interesting to know how she stands with the public vote, as I think she is a bit of a marmite contestant, esp if you read the Strictly thread on here Hmm . As to the third finalist, it could be anyone of the other 5 left, although how Mollie and AJ are still there is beyond me. I've never liked him - too irritating, not good enough and some fairly mediocre choreography most of the time - and she gets on my wick aswell. After 2 weeks in the bottom 2, it seemed they weren't getting the public vote either but obviously that has now changed.

Magi84 thanks for the update. It would be lovely to have the story back again if it can be done, as it's one of my favourites, but it's obviously up to Itsembarrassing. I have absolutely no idea when it comes to IT Confused

Ilovelblue · 20/11/2017 14:17

kazza I think there's usually three then one gets eliminated so it's a head to head. Don't they have a gap where people can vote (probably the lottery or something in between), then when they come back on stage, one of them has to be eliminated. I think as well they must factor in if anyone leaves - ill health or whatever. What did they call the guy who sulked and left the show early last year? I think he was an X Factor or Britain's Got Talent winner.

I think was Will Young Ilove. He was partnered with Karen Clifton and I believe she was not a happy bunny at the time!!

Ilovelblue · 20/11/2017 21:39

Magi Will Young, that's the one! I was too lazy to Google it.

This is the first night since the end of OG Nepal that I've not watched any of it (even fast forwarding through bits to the Elvis or CJ parts). I'm trying to wean myself off just a little at a time!

Me too, I clicked on to the recording on the tv then talked myself out of it. The more I watch it the more I enjoy it. I need something else to grab my attention but so far no luck. I did enjoy the 70th wedding programme of the Queen and Prince Philip so now a bit of ff before bed. Goodnight all.

Ilovelblue · 20/11/2017 22:50

I watched the royal wedding anniversary programme too and really enjoyed it. I follow Holby City weekly but the only other thing of interest at the moment is Love, Lies and Records which started last Thursday and seems to be off to a promising start.

There are a couple of ff updates today.

OP posts:
Magi84 · 21/11/2017 06:08

Yes TV is a bit dire at the moment. Love, Lies and Records did get off to a promising start so hope it keeps it up. Kay Mellor stuff is usually good. Certainly an impressive cast. Can't say the same for Howards End. I like Matthew McFadyen but think he is the wrong choice for this. Mind you E M Forster is not a favourite author for me.

Sound like a proper grump here but that is probably because OG is over for now and we are all worrying slightly over what the next four episodes might bring. Honestly such an investment in a TV programme!

Magi84 · 21/11/2017 06:58

Have just caught up with the Queen and Prince Philip anniversary programme on Iplayer. I too enjoyed it. Suffice to say a lot of my enjoyment came from remembering what I was doing at the time. I was 14 when they got married and remember having to wait to see the film of the wedding in the cinema because no T V then! Also 5 years later when King George died all cinemas and theatres closed. It happened to be the evening of our office outing to see "Call me Madam". That was cancelled.

So that programme was a stroll down memory lane for me. I got married exactly 10 years after their wedding and saw in the paper on Saturday that 1957 was the happiest year for Britain which made my DH laugh when I showed him the article!

Ilovelblue · 21/11/2017 07:43

Magi does that mean you've just had your diamond anniversary???? And a telegram from Her Majesty?

OP posts:
Magi84 · 21/11/2017 08:15

Yes had our diamond in March. It isn't a telegram these days it's a card. Lovely one with a picture of Her Majesty on the friend. Current picture actually. Signed "Elizabeth". The postman made me laugh when he delivered it. He knocked and said "Oh thank goodness you're in as I can't just put it through the letter box might end up in the Tower" I liked the bit on the back of the envelope saying "If undelivered return to Buckingham Palace"

Quite an eventful year this for us as my DH had his 90th birthday in January. He laughs at my devotion to CJ and just says well you've always had good taste in men!
