Ilove - I'm counting the time in the prequel. Okay, it's cheating, but it's still part of Series 2, especially since it's featured when she's captured.

Ilovelblue · 14/11/2017 21:08

Oh of course! I had completely forgotten about that! I think I fell in love with Elvis right from the word go in that prequel.

She was definitely ungrateful eejit and ilove. How many times does a man have to save your life to earn a 'Thank you'?

As for the watch thing ilove, well, we were pretty impressed by CJ's tanned forearms and big watch but Elvis's appendage definitely wins the prize !

The spirit of Woof lives on!

eejittwo · 14/11/2017 21:42

Confession - I fell in love when he was still D'Artagnan!

Rhubarb01 · 14/11/2017 21:48

Oh I was definitely a Musketeers fan - we even had some chat alongs on this thread when they were on ...but I have to say I was always Team Aramis! Blush

I much preferred his more modern look in OG. He always struck me as a little too youthful in the Musketeers and I wasn't a fan of the hair. However, I am now tempted to go and catch up on few episodes on netflix...just to test my theory of course.

eejittwo · 14/11/2017 22:01

He was the right age for D'Artagnan (who's only 18 at the start of the first book) and his only fault (in my eyes) was his (non)accent. As a Gascon, the character should have had a really strong regional accent.
Accents don't matter in the same way in OG, the characters are such a mix.

Rhubarb01 · 14/11/2017 22:20

Perhaps I should have clarified - too youthful for me Smile. I prefer the slightly more mature version!

The accents issue is interesting. When all the characters are speaking in English but are portraying characters speaking in another language it must be a bit of a quandary for the writers/actors to know whether to speak with accents or not and if so what type. I can't help thinking of 'Allo Allo' here. Despite the silly nature of the programme they addressed the accents issue really well (French, German, Italian) - especially the English gendarme speaking rotten French!

eejittwo · 14/11/2017 22:33

When you re-watch Musketeers, Rhu, listen carefully and you will find that the only people with regional accents are baddies! As this isn't a Musketeers thread, I will go no further ...

Ilovelblue · 14/11/2017 22:44

Confession eejit: I'd never even heard of Luke Pasqualino until he was due to appear in OG! I did some frantic Googling when I saw the prequel and saw photos of him in Skins and Casualty and I felt like a cradle snatcher. Sooooooo young. Like Rhu, I prefer the more mature version (if you can call 27 mature!)

I've seen the first episode of Snatch and I must say it's not something I would have watched were it not for LP. He's obviously very good looking but I think for me, it was the uniform that did it. Elvis all the way!

My neighbour from across the road has caught me watching OG2 and recognised LP. I lent her the DVD but she couldn't get into it and said she only liked LP in The Musketeers.

Well ladies I can report that after doing some arduous Musketeers research my findings are that it is definitely an Elvis attraction. I'm afraid that D'Artagnan has little effect upon me. I studied very hard, as you would expect from someone with a Postgraduate Diploma in 'Our Girl', and came to the conclusion that it is the combination of uniform, hair cut, a certain swagger and self-confidence combined with the very occasional - and I mean very occasional moment of humility that appeals. As far as Musketeers goes I am still very firmly Team Aramis Grin.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 15/11/2017 16:22

Yep sorry Luke, it's Elvis for me too.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 15/11/2017 16:26

Though only the Elvis is this series.
Wasn't too keen on the previous Elvis.

Flowerfan · 15/11/2017 16:35

Hi
I am definitely CJ obsessed but have to say I did really like Elvis this time. I didn’t watch Musketeers but I seem to think there was a lot of hair and beard masking his good looks in that as well. My DVD has arrived and I have watched the outtakes etc but the picture on some of it is dreadful, the actual series is ok though. Has anyone else found this?
I do like the idea of a watchalong of series 1 after Christmas as I wasn’t ‘with you’ last time.

Rhubarb01 · 15/11/2017 16:49

Yes flower there is something funny about the film quality of the outtakes. I wonder whether they weren't subject to the same improvement and brushing up as the main film as they weren't going to use it. I agree the actual episodes are fine.

I think my favourite outtake is the one of CJ staring into space for a little too long and then....well you'll know which one I mean.

kazzaD66 · 15/11/2017 17:37

Oh rhu don't tease us CJ obsessives fans who don't have the dvd!

Rhubarb01 · 15/11/2017 18:22

Ok...The camera is side on and CJ is staring into space, clearly overcome by the enormity of what has happened on such an arduous mission, wondering what might happen if they don't find a way out of the mess they are in, overwhelmed perhaps by the weight of command?

He continues to stare for what seems like an age but it becomes apparent to all of us watching...that he has totally forgotten his lines and so he turns his face to the camera, stares, frowns at us all in disbelief then bursts into laughter - I try to believe it is truly a very happy CJ!

kazzaD66 · 15/11/2017 19:17

Aahh bless Smile I might just have to get the dvd now. I'm such a sucker for a gorgeous CJ / BA GrinBlush

Flowerfan · 15/11/2017 20:41

Obviously not watched as often as Rhu just going to do some more research 😜

Flowerfan · 15/11/2017 20:51

Oh yes I’ve got it looks straight at the camera before he laughs wow some funny lossof lines and tongue tied dialogue. Now for the rest of the outtakes. I did read the ff from yesterday and ended u crying again!!! It’s FICTION I keep telling myself 😟😟

Flowerfan · 15/11/2017 21:03

Here he is as you can see outtakes pics Not as good as rest
Still a laughing CJ is good to see

kazzaD66 · 15/11/2017 22:50

Thanks flower he still has a gorgeous smile that makes his eyes and the rest of his face light up, even with the slightly dodgy picture quality - wonder why that is?

Ilovelblue · 15/11/2017 23:45

Flower and Rhu I wouldn't have thought of buying the DVD this time if you hadn't mentioned the outtakes Hopefully mine will come either Thursday or Friday.

I've seen a couple of interviews from ITV's This Morning with Eamonn and Ruth that LP has done and found him quite appealing on that but didn't find him as droolworthy (I've just made that word up I think) in the episode of Snatch I watched as he looks very young. Elvis all the way I think. Mind you, he was rather cute in that Twitter interview too. Rhu Elvis and humility aren't two words you would normally put together, but I know what you mean! It's his self-confidence and cheeky chappy approach I like.
