We've suddenly gone very quiet.

Evening! Yes, it's a little quiet isn't it. I do hope it won't be too long until Series 3 Part 2. I still haven't rewatched the last episode - something of a record but I'm going to have to bite the bullet - so to speak - and force myself to rewatch. Knowing what happens and all the chat on here may make it a bit easier.

In the spirit of moving on I am already wondering if it is true that Georgie could possibly have another love interest? If so, however odd it may seem after Elvis, I will be intrigued to know how it will be played out. Mind you if she falls for another SF guy she probably needs her head examined - frankly I'm beginning to feel a little bit of sympathy for Dr Dull now. There is also much food for thought with CJ and I'm interested in the Rab/Maisie combination so there is definitely enough to bring me back for second helpings despite my initial pessimism.

lalalalyra · 08/11/2017 18:38

I hope that "early 2018" means January so we don't have to wait long!

It is still series 3 that the cast are filming at the moment or have they moved onto 4? (assuming they are not just all bestie mates and that's why they're all together).

I'm currently living vicariously through a friend this week who I introduced to OG. She's watching S1 Ep4 for the first time and I'm chuckling at her having the "HE'S BLOODY MARRIED" moment that I remember so well!

lalalalyra · 08/11/2017 18:41

I think Georgie having another love interest would be a bit far fetched unless it was a rebound thing. Which could get interesting and difficult. I wonder if her grieving for Elvis is in any way related to the kidnap photos we've seen.

Also very curious about the "you hear more about that on a later mission" regarding Molly. She hasn't been mentioned at all so far. I hope the "more" isn't that their relationship hasn't lasted. I could understand the writer wanting to have the scope to bring another love interest in for CJ though.

Rhubarb01 · 08/11/2017 18:47

Oh lala I think we can all remember that moment when Smurf mentions CJ's wife. I think we all simultaneously hated him for ten minutes or so. I can remember feeling so utterly disappointed in him.

I really don't like the idea of CJ having another love interest. I think there could be a complete OG fan revolt if that happened - well at least the series 1 diehards like many of us. It feels almost as if CJ's relationship with Molly is sacred and to be honest I just would hate to think anything had happened to them. I'd rather hear nothing at all about them again than have that destroyed - ooh I'm coming over all emotional Grin

kazzaD66 · 08/11/2017 18:51

Totally agree rhu and on that note, I'm going to listen to London Grammar whilst I prepare dinner Smile

lalalalyra · 08/11/2017 19:06

I had forgotten the bastard moment until she started 4. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a tv character than then!

I hope they don't break them up. I just wonder if they'll be as loyal to the sacred relationship as we will be. It's such a pity Lacey Turner has such a full schedule with Eastenders. It would have been perfect if there was odd moments of being able to have her involved. I think then we might have seen more of his home life - the complications of going on different tours etc.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 08/11/2017 19:33

I think Lacey Turner is wasted in Eastenders. She should come back to OG full time.

lalalalyra · 08/11/2017 20:48

I wonder if the filming commitment put her off. 6/7 months away from home is such a different story to long days but going home each night.

I wonder if that added to the cast changes (no Kinders in s2 etc)?

I'm probably posting things you've all discussed ages ago, sorry! It's ridiculously exciting having people to talk too about it who get it.

Rhubarb01 · 08/11/2017 20:58

No worries lala we are quite happy to discuss these details at any time. We never get tired of our favourite subject Grin. We all consider ourselves a little bit bonkers but reckon we can pass for reasonably normal people in civilised society. It's good to have somewhere to 'meet' like minded people!

Magi84 · 08/11/2017 21:20

I think you are right Lala when you say LT prefers t be on home ground and not say for log stretches. In a coupe of TVs. Read on nerves sh has given she as emphasis how much he sh enjoys being able to g to work almost on her own doorstep.

Also I think after Series 1 the BBC very slow about coming up with a second series, during which time she was approached again for Eastenders and that was a nice steady option. Actors do have a precarious life really.

Still wish she would change her mind though as Molly's story was unique.

Magi84 · 08/11/2017 21:23

Well my post reads like a lot of garbage with whatever my keypads seems to want to do. Anyway I wanted to say she dislikes being away a lot. And that I read about interviews she had given nothing to do with 'nerves' as it printed!

Flowerfan · 08/11/2017 21:35

Hi
Am in on my own so just watching last episode again and have stopped it with CGand Elvis after the Azizi death. Centre screen CJ sitting looking into my lounge so I left it there to see if anyone had posted and saw all your posts we are all a little mad but when I see CJ I definitely know why. Elvis just made it perfect for a while they were so good together
As we’ve said before it is so good to have someone to talk or read about our obsession

Thought I would share this with you ‘😄😄❤️❤️

Magi84 · 08/11/2017 21:51

Thanks Flower. Always most welcome. This one is particularly poignant with the furrowed brow. He really is such a good actor.

Goodnight

Ilovelblue · 08/11/2017 23:12

My thoughts on the second photo: who wouldn't want to be sandwiched between those two hunks Flower?

It's absolute ages since I watched series 1 (with the exception of the restaurant scene in episode 5) and maybe it's something I should have a look at over the weekend.

I think you're all right about Lacey Turner. I think I read somewhere that she described herself as a home bird. I have no issue really with MK as the medic. It's a whole different scenario and there was no way really that CJ and MD could have served together once they were an item but I do agree that a few mentions of her in this mini series would have thrown a few crumbs in our direction. Here's hoping things are ok between them. I think I'm more worried about CJ's internal conflicts and what I imagine will turn out to be PTSD.

If Georgie falls for the next SF leader, it's not only a bit naff but unless there's a suitable time lapse, you would wonder how she has managed to deal with her grief in such a short space of time. I would be concerned it just makes her some sort of slapper!

Tracy re your interesting sounding book title, we have had discussions in the past about favourite male actors reading bedtime stories. Rhu might be able to remember more names than me but other than BA, we had Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston.

I've had a rather sad evening as my elderly next door neighbour who is suffering with the beginnings of memory loss and also prostate cancer, seems to be going downhill fast. I'm quite fond of him really and it's very upsetting to see he is deteriorating so quickly.

I decided to watch the most recent episode of OG but it probably wasn't the best episode to choose when I felt sad to start with! I've decided that when we do the watchalong on Sunday, I can do it up to 52 minutes - in other words, just before Georgie opens Elvis' letter. I can't do it after that.

Out of interest, what do people think of the ending for Thara/Fara whatever she's called. I know TG said he wanted to explore current issues and I understand how he wanted to highlight child trafficking, but I have to say I found it a fairly weak (and at times irritating) sub plot.

Good morning
I agree ilove I’m not sure about Tara story she was a very lucky girl I know it’s fiction but the way she travelled it almost looked as if it was all booked in advance!!!!!! I don’t think many of them get back home.
I do hope CJ has recovered a bit by next series but it would take time in real life after your best friend was killed by someone you thought was also a friend betrayed you.
Just a mention of Molly and him sorting things out is all I ask
I’ve realised Molly coming back except as a cameo role isn’t going to happen
Sorry to hear about your neighbour it’s a horrible thing to see someone you like deteriorating like that
Hope to be there on Sunday I will have already been glued to tele for all Rememberance Day things at the weekend anyway!

Magi84 · 09/11/2017 08:24

Morning - yes the Tara story did become rather far fetched especially with the everlasting battery on the mobile! That was a pity because it is a very serious thing the transportation of these young innocents and it doesn't really come over too well when it is all made to look so easy.

I did hope to participate in Sunday's watch along but now find I can't. I shall look forward to reading all your comments on Monday morning.

I too hope CJ's possible PTSD is handled well. Mentions of Molly would be great so here's hoping.

kazzaD66 · 09/11/2017 12:26

ilove I found the whole Tara storyline a bit distracting and annoying, esp when they went back to it in Ep 4 and it just got ludicrous (the whole phone thing, easy travel, even easier getting back to village). It's a valid storyline but it all got a bit far fetched in the end.

Where has it been said that Georgie has a relationship with the new SF guy? I don't think that's necessary - can't she survive without a bloke on the go?! Also, don't know the timelines but bouncing from one guy to the next just seems daft, esp after the love of her life has died in front of her. I've heard of on the rebound but it's getting ridiculous. Talking of ridiculous, seeing the still from the BBC for the next series, please don't say she's going to be kidnapped again. Hmm

lalalalyra · 09/11/2017 14:11

I think Georgie getting it on with someone else quickly could only happen if it was done in a rebound/grieving way rather than moving on. I'm also praying they don't do a pregnancy 'who is the father?' storyline (even a panic for her).

It is a real pity that Lacey Turner couldn't be tempted back. Whilst she and CJ could have served together they could have had two sections. She could have been in Kenya while he was in Nepal. Even if it was one 4 eps of him and his section then 4 of her and her section with a few crossovers between them. There was real scope.

I also really wish they'd at least hint at how it went down. I mean - is that why he's still Captain and not Major? How did the section react? Has Molly's career suffered at all (because it would) - even a simple moment of him swearing with Elvis about her CO making a snide comment and him being unable to get involved. All those things would add to the weariness CJ's character seems to have. Molly was supposed to be Georgie's friend according to the start of S2 so why hasn't she mentioned her at all. Not even a "how is Molly after X event?" or "when is Molly back from y place?".

lalalalyra · 09/11/2017 14:13

Talking of ridiculous, seeing the still from the BBC for the next series, please don't say she's going to be kidnapped again

It looks like it, and unless it's a distracted, grieving Georgie fucking up it's totally unrealistic.

And if it is that then questions would have to be asked of CJ for not noticing her mental state in that case (like when he allowed her to go back to Nepal after Elvis died in her arms).
