Must say though, despite the far fetched storylines and out of character behaviour (stealing vicars) some things are a glimmer of hope...love the Cathy/Brian pairing and the character of Colin ("can I have a Lemsip?")
Andy'll have to budge up in the cellar soon then...

Lydia's character in Brookside was a traffic warden I think.

I think it'll turn out that Phelan was Lydia's boyfriend and that she was never aware that he'd cheated with Nicola's mum.

Lydia played Rosie Banks in Brookside. Her and Eddie lived next door to the Jordache's as I remember. Still miss Brookside

The Mary and Angie story makes me laugh, It's like the MIL threads you see on MN, but on tv

Each Hollyoaks uses a lot of the same locations as Brookside and is filmed in Liverpool

How did the story about the Mr and Mrs Competition end? I assume Mary and Norris didn't win. It all seems to have been a waste of time and energy, because Jude(?) and his wife are making frequent visits.

So 'Nicola' has been tweeting this after noon about the men who have tried it on with her over the years. Like many other women - she's met some rotters.

A useless bit of gossip about her is that she was apparently the woman who was sent home from work when she was temping for one of the Big 4 (PwC?) last year, as she wouldn't wear high heels. I should think there were one or two MN threads about that at the time!

I'm really confused why Phelan needs to have someone in the basement?! I have totally missed that reasoning.

Phelan is getting bored of the situation but can't think of a way around it. He doesn't trust Andy not to report him to the police if he releases him. So, Andy has offered to take over from Phelan as captor to a new hostage, meaning that he will also be a criminal and therefore unlikely to go to the police about Phelan.

Not one of CS's more realistic plots!

It's so uncomfortable to watch really think they will string the andy storyline out until xmas 😩
Another one who misses brookside though not the later stuff that was awful stopped watching during late 90's.

I don't think it would matter how bad things were, Gandy wouldn't put someone else in his place.

I reckon Lydia will reveal that Phelan raped Nicola's mum, who confided in Lydia at the time. Phelan thinks nobody else knows because Nicola's parents are conveniently dead, so he will be shocked to find that Lydia can scupper his relationship with Nicola by telling her that the great love affair Phelan has talked about was all lies, and will want to put Lydia in the cellar.

Yes we are to believe he’s not that bad to kill anyone (though let what’s his face die and didn’t call an ambulance ) but happy to be on bucket emptying duties/chippy run forever and a day.

Why are they being mean to summer? Apart from anybody they have all lost a parent. In fact hasn’t every child in the street?
