Who was that setting the van on fire? Was it Tyrones van? Did I fall asleep and miss something?

hippyhippyshake · 08/11/2017 21:04

Sorry to be a nuisance but only flicked over at the end. Whose van was it that Todd set fire to? And was there a dog in it? 😱

Akire · 08/11/2017 21:26

Yes Todd did. Why is he so against what’s his face? It’s not even his van. Hope ty has it insured.

scrabbler3 · 08/11/2017 21:46

What happened to Sinead's modelling career?

Blue25654 · 08/11/2017 22:03

I think Todd hates Aiden because Aiden stopped him and the other one getting a big work deal at their solicitors and Todd wanted to use the money to send Summer to the private school Rosie went to. So set fire to what he thought was Aiden’s new work van but is actually still Ty’s.

thenightsky · 08/11/2017 22:09

I think it was Aiden's van, which he had just bought from Tyrone. I didn't see any dog in it. It was Todd who set fire to it.

I suppose this weak story is gonna end with Todd doing a runner and leaving the programme.

eddiemairswife · 08/11/2017 22:23

i'm glad Todd is going. This feud with Aidan is so childish and boring.

ChevalierTialys · 08/11/2017 22:33

The feud was between Adam and Aiden. Todd getting so involved is again very unbelievable. I did read that they had to rewrite and refilm in a hurry so I assume this is a way to get rid of him quickly, if he does a runner for torching the van.

southeastdweller · 08/11/2017 22:45

I stopped watching in April after being a regular viewer for more than thirty years Sad. I usually read this thread and some TV magazines so have a general understanding of what goes on and was curious enough to watch a week's worth of episodes recently (the murder week).

Dear God, it's got even worse. The episode with the two murders was not just full of story holes but too bleak for Corrie, it just didn't feel right. Even EastEnders have never done a double murder! The Phelan story has gone on way too long. But the main problem I see that should be stopped (but won't be) is the sixth episode. Kate Oates can spin it all she wants saying it was an opportunity to bring in (even) more characters and exciting new sets but we all know what it's really about - more advertising revenue for ITV. The writers and some of the actors just aren't up to performing properly doing all these episodes.

Clawdy · 08/11/2017 22:57

So many unbelievable scenes tonight. Mary is now a monstrous, hateful mother-in-law. Todd is torching a van. And Beth shrieking and hurling lego bricks.....I don't know why I'm still watching!

lizzieoak · 08/11/2017 23:57

A week or two behind here, but just watching Nicola being told about Pat raping her mum. It’s very well done & believable.

This is the sort of drama people watch Corrie for. Believable, relateable stories. I’ve always turned off for a few years when it gets like this. I’m really not sure I can stick with it - I may stop watching until I hear things have improved (& by improved I mean domestic stories about interesting characters leavened with a bit of humour).

hippyhippyshake · 09/11/2017 05:15

So if Todd does a runner that's another crime that goes unpunished. Why can't he exit by Billy just saying Todd has decided to leave and show Eileen a note he left? So easy.

scrabbler3 · 09/11/2017 07:53

Wouldn't these scenes have been filmed before the alleged incident in the nightclub came to light, though? I thought they filmed about 6-8 weeks in advance.

Clawdy · 09/11/2017 09:17

Yes, I read that they are showing the existing scenes up till Christmas, then showing a changed, re-written story where Todd leaves.

LoveMySituation · 09/11/2017 17:41

Yes, Todd's last episode is Christmas Eve. What happens if he's found not guilty? They will have sacked one of the better ones for nothing. Missed the last 15 mins of the second episode, did anything actually happen?Grin

MrsSteveMcDonald · 09/11/2017 18:11

There isn't enough Steve in it at the moment

deadringer · 10/11/2017 10:10

The Chesney and Joseph story is really annoying me. That poor little boy is supposed to be grieving for his mum and all Chesney does is sit around whining about him not eating. What about putting up a picture of his mum, or giving him a treasure box of some of her stuff. Or ringing the grand parents for advice, or even having Joseph's invisable cousin jake over to play. Anyway rant over. I am really hoping aidan was sleeping in that van. with at least half the cast

Wormulonian · 10/11/2017 11:29

I agree deadringer. He also has to cope with being looked after by a bored/grumpy Sinead staring gormlessly into the middle distance and Beth shouting and screaming all the time. All these people are strangers. No wonder he responded so well to a few Portuguese phrases and a smile from Daniel.

mrssunshinexxx · 10/11/2017 13:07

Gutted todds leaving didn't use to like him now he's one of my faves

Viviennemary · 10/11/2017 13:23

I didn't like Todd much either but he has grown on me a bit. It's a shame he's leaving as his acting is quite good I think. Even when he's been given pretty unbelievable stuff to do. Eileen is simply awful now. And Roy my favourite is in the background. He should get back with Cathy. Don't know why that was stopped. Craig and Beth have just got too silly now. I quite often don't bother watching it these days.

Olddear · 10/11/2017 20:46

kirk is just unbelievably thick. They've really gone overboard with it.

Akire · 10/11/2017 21:19

What bugs me is 4 now 5 adults on least mim wage. Would be bringing home about £4K a month into the house. Even if rent was £1k plenty left over. Yet all they do
Is moan they are broke. Now they had a month now working nobody believes or cares they are broke because it’s a broken record.

Yet part time bar maid and unemployed Gary can get flat in Victoria court— ok then.

ChevalierTialys · 10/11/2017 21:36

They do go to the pub for a hotspot every lunch then again for drinks after work followed by the chippy for their tea. I can see how they get through £3k a month

ChevalierTialys · 10/11/2017 21:36

*hotpot

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/11/2017 21:50

Perhaps Jawsiff could do some colouring on Sinead's couloring book jumper she was wearing the other week.

Katie/Izzy's Mum is in River City, the terrible soap we get here and her accent is hilarious, it's like every third word has a bad Scottish accent, and the rest of the time she's still Jaw, Jaw, when she was in Eastenders with mad tinfoil Joe.
