Fizz first please. And everyone related to her.

Actually he's going to have get Andy to start digging out an extension to fit them all in.

Different climate now though - any bloke who breathes in the wrong way towards a woman is of course guilty

RJnomore1 · 29/10/2017 00:07

Bullshit wooly

woolythoughts · 29/10/2017 00:11

Really?

IHaveBrilloHair · 29/10/2017 00:12

It's a shame the actor has been sacked from a viewing point of view, but in the current climate, I think it's the right thing.

woolythoughts · 29/10/2017 00:12

Suspended until proven guilty notified because someone made an allegation

woolythoughts · 29/10/2017 00:13

Not Fired

RJ - I agree. I assume there must be irrefutable proof like CCTV as they say they are re-shooting scenes.

Or it could be trial by press. Craig Charles did time for sexual assault and was then exonerated. Corrie seems to attract either abusive actors or waste of time charges as this would be, what, the fourth time a Corrie actor has been accused?

He’s a good actor and these abrupt departures are always odd. Impossible for anyone to know at this stage of course, what actually happened. If it was in a club then presumably there’ll be winesses, or not.

Housewife2010 · 29/10/2017 06:16

When Tommy and when Alya's dad were immediately sacked and when Ken and Kevin were suspended I don't think that the programme suffered. I do think that it is a great shame with Todd though as he is an excellent character and is very well played. He will be a loss to the show. I am assuming that the Coronation St bosses have irrefutable proof that he has done something terrible.

scrabbler3 · 29/10/2017 08:28

He should have been suspended not sacked , until he pleaded/was found guilty.

woodhill · 29/10/2017 08:37

What a shame and it will impact on storylines I think. I'm near giving up with watching after Phelan rubbish

TattyCat · 29/10/2017 09:02

The only way Corrie bosses could have irrefutable 'evidence' is if they were there when it happened, or they witnessed another Corrie actor being assaulted (or whatever the claim is).

Of course, it won't cause them a problem - they'll just have Billy getting back with Sean. The soap will be an even duller place...

I'm giving up on it now. Enough stupidity.

redshoeblueshoe · 29/10/2017 09:05

Craig Charles was remanded in custody whilst awaiting trial, at the trial he was found not guilty. I don't understand why Todd wasn't suspended.

User843022 · 29/10/2017 09:20

'He should have been suspended not sacked , until he pleaded/was found guilty'
They perhaps were instigating suspension procedure or whatever until or if he was charged and he may have reacted angrily and that led to sacking. I'm obviously speculating but there's no way he'd have been sacked purely on an unproven allegation.

eddiemairswife · 29/10/2017 09:33

Perhaps he could take Summer and Billy with him when he goes.

Poor old Eileen. No Jason, no Todd and soon (one can only assume/hope no Pat. Who are they going to set up for her to bounce off? Perfect chance to revert to her old believable character who took no prisoners (unlike her DH etc etc). Sad times on the Street.

southeastdweller · 29/10/2017 11:13

I'm no expert but it's standard practice in most contracts to have a clause in them that the contracts can be terminated at any time for certain reasons. I hope that there is some irrefutable evidence because to sack someone on the basis of accusations is very wrong.

Can his reputation ever recover? It's much harder for the ex-Corrie actors to make a go of a decent acting career after they leave, compared to women.

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 29/10/2017 12:27

I read the sun’s version of the story and it said the alleged incident happened in a club on 1/10/2017 the soap bosses were contacted last week about the allegations and that Bruno Langley had no idea what has been alleged. I could understand him being sacked if he had said “yes, that happened” but the fact he is saying he has no idea what was supposed to have happened makes me very Confused about him being sacked.

Clawdy · 29/10/2017 14:28

The girl playing Summer must be furious, as apparently she will have to leave with Todd, in the changed storyline.

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 29/10/2017 14:36

That’s what I ready too. I don’t understand how Todd can take summer away. He isn’t her legal parent. Theyre still going through the process to adopt her so how can he take her?

southeastdweller · 29/10/2017 14:40

I'm thinking he'll break up with Billy for some implausible reason and run off abroad with her.

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 29/10/2017 14:42

I suspect billy will be charged with assaulting peter Barlow and SS will get in touch saying that they can no longer allow summer to live with B&T so T will grab summer and run off with her.

LineysRun · 29/10/2017 14:48

I was anticipating "Todd's Keys" being a necessary part of the unravelling of the Phelan debacle. (Remember when he ran into Rosie in the office, had Anna's earring, all that malarkey, he said Todd had lent him His keys.) I guess that's just another part of the picture that won't make sense any more.

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 29/10/2017 14:58

I thought he said Todd was lending him a Guide book?
