And this one from a few years ago of a Jive lecture. The poor guy she's demo-ing with looks so nervous!

It all looks so nice and sedate as she's talking it through, but wow when they put the music on for full speed she is on fire!

I was very pissed off with Shirley's reaction to Simon's dance. She's there to judge the bloody dancing and the technique - he was shit, he messed up big style so she needed to have scored him accordingly. I appreciate she had an emotional reaction to the song but she also has a job to do. Totally dented her own credibility last night Hmm

And yes to a pp - Karen seemed very odd when the judges were commenting. She seemed vacant with a fixed smile on her face Hmm

dalek · 01/10/2017 12:55

Also meant t say both Alijax and AJ out danced their partners - they were doing the Ola look at me look at me I'm fabulous. Although when you are a pro it must be difficult not to do this.

That's why I like KFG - not popular on this thread I know - as he always seems so generous to his partners. Alijax used to be like that but not so much now.

CaveMum · 01/10/2017 13:39

Had Elaine Paige on the radio over lunch time and "GoldenEye" came on which instantly took me back to this - the, IMHO, best AT we've had on Strictly.

CaveMum · 01/10/2017 13:40

Oops, wrong link - that other one was another Shirley video I was watching Blush

I don't know if it has been mentioned but Simon was at Hillsborough so I do understand his emotional reaction. However Shirley should have based her judgement purely on the dance.

bonfireheart · 01/10/2017 16:58

Molly, Jo, Johnnie and Davood were better than expected. Don't think anyone didn't expect Aaron or Alexandra to be good.

I was watching old SCD dances on YouTube and supposed at how little "faffing" and props there were. Chizzy and that cereal box were so annoying, then davood and the books. Just get on with it and dance.

bonfireheart · 01/10/2017 16:59

*Aaron not Aaron.
Pretty soon SCD will have Ashley Banjo on and then try to justify it by saying "but he wasn't danced ballroom before."

They didn't mention Hillsborough on the show at all. Simon just said he was a Liverpool fan.

IMO YNWA is so intrinsically linked with LFC and therefore Hillsborough that it doesn't need to be explicit.

I agree that Shirley's reaction was OTT, I assume she's from that area?

It just feel a bit out of place on a light bright sparkly Saturday night entertainment show to me, but I understand it's important to Simon Rimmer. It also smacks of voter manipulation a la X Factor.

Shirl's from the Wirral - just over the water from Liverpool but still 'Merseyside' area. It wasn't very professional though. Unless it's very personal to her as well.

KittyVonCatsington · 01/10/2017 19:08

Maryz and cowgirlsareforever

It was mentioned on It Takes Two on Friday, rather than the Live show yesterday.

cowgirlsareforever · 01/10/2017 19:14

Oh I don't watch ITT so I didn't realise that it had been mentioned.

ScaryMonstersAndSuoerCreeps · 01/10/2017 19:16

Checking in for the results!!

KittyVonCatsington · 01/10/2017 19:17

Yeah cowgirl (love the username!) Simon said he was 'dancing for Hillsborough'

ScaryMonstersAndSuoerCreeps · 01/10/2017 19:20

That was a bit crap!!!!

ellenanora5 · 01/10/2017 19:21

Checking in, wonder who'll be first to go.

GrouchyKiwi · 01/10/2017 19:22

I thought so too, ScaryMonsters!

Hepzibar · 01/10/2017 19:23

Tess's roots! Shallow sorry.
Love her dress.

GrouchyKiwi · 01/10/2017 19:24

I don't know anything about Ruth and Eamonn but he creeps me out a bit. His eyes are dead.
