Hi folks.

Hope you don't mind me wading in! Just going to add a 'contains spoilers' warning to the title so that people are prepared for spoilers.

Hope that's okay, OP.

It wasn't a spoiler I believe, just another theory! But now the spoiler warning is there - has anyone seen the synopsis of this week's episode? Something like 'Gemma goes to drastic lengths to get her old life back.'

Please - someone tell me I have read this wrong.

My ideal scenario would be to see Gemma and Sian together, Simon single disowned and unhappy, Tom in a good place mentally... A brand new life. If it goes full circle, plus she ends up tied down with Simon and another baby, I will not be watching a third series!

Bet we will all be on here later tonight saying how disappointed we are! The pregnancy theory is a possibility, but I can see it being a silly cliffhanger where the last shot is her gazing at a test kit, with a sombre face, but we won't see the result. ...

I read that Gemma reveals lots of secrets about her past tonight and expalins why she behaves the way that she does... And I know that there's a scene where it is just Gemma, Tom and Sleazy Simon.

There was hints at a 3rd series, I really don't get how they could do another series.. I mean what on earth would it be about.

Ok, has there been spoilers? I can't read the newest comments now just in case, can we start a new thread? What time were the spoilers posted so I can avoid, and how the hell did someone find out?

There haven't been any spoilers posted Kate, just theories. One of the theories above was phrased like a spoiler i.e "this will happen" (prefaced by, 'I reckon') and one post refers to the official radio Times run down of the episode. However now there is a spoiler warning, people will be more likely to post spoilers so maybe best to avoid til ten!

FWIW, I think Gemma came prepared, and will produce an acid-filled syringe stashed about her person...
(covertly taped to one of her ubiquitous nude courts, perhaps).

There are too many background characters that need to come back and sort their shit out for this to have a satisfactory ending.
The poorly patient.
The young woman Carly.
The ginger neighbour over the road and wife - what's going on with them? I know he's moved out but she seems just as on edge as gemma.
James who has seemingly disappeared into oblivion.

Kate's parents - I reckon simon has been shagging the mum all along. Or that he did in the past.
Also, want to find out if any of that nonsense dissolving the wedding ring comes to anything.
I will be bitterly disappointed if this episode just focuses on Gemma, Simon and Tom - this is about so much more than those misfits!

James kept trying his level best to make a go of things with Gemma, but probably admitted defeat on having it revealed to him (IIRC, think was shouted angrily by Tom?) that she'd slept with Simon again.

Sian Control Freak Dr. will definitely play some useful role in tonight's episode. Who is supposed to have fathered her son , btw???

Am hypothesizing again, but just in case some sensitive people are around:

The writer was inspired by Euripedes play "Medea", in which the scorned woman kills her children to make her husband suffer , as well as poisons her husbands new lover (poisoned dress/gift)

How will she "kill" Tom for Simon?

I reckon she made all the wedding speech and other stuff up too, and put the massive seed of doubt in Kate's mind, And then pretended to be on Kate's side by saying " I'm not going to let you go through 15 years of it"
