Bloody loving this.

Even if there are inconsistencies.

Welcome back all.

A few people on the thread from the first series said she deserved to have her head smashed into the patio door too.

Hmmm, nice. They are all completely nuts in my opinion but that should not be excused.

Let's face it, he has been deeply unpleasant throughout, he's no nice guy just being targeted for no reason.

MargoLovebutter · 29/09/2017 11:43

So many severely dysfunctional people in one show!!!!!! It is hard to unravel their skeins of fuckedupness to know who's to blame for what, other than Simon who seems to be made of entirely of excrement.

JustDanceAddict · 29/09/2017 13:58

AGree, Namedy - the showdown with the parents and Kate was ridiculous. Every mum wears boots and skinnies!!!

Inkanta · 29/09/2017 16:09

I don't think she will have run him over. She loves him too much still.

EnidButton · 29/09/2017 16:26

Honestly, out of all the ott dramatic moments, bad sex scenes, dodgy accents, wonky acting issues and wtf plot leaps, the skinny jeans and boots thing is the one that I will carry with me after this is over. for five minutes until I forget all of it

Simon is a slimy, weird mouthed arsehole but he doesn't strike me as being so deathly dull that his fetish, turn on, whatever, is "skinny jeans with boots". How does he cope just getting through the day, walking through town? He must be permanently half erect.

I've grossed myself out. 🤢

EnidButton · 29/09/2017 16:29

"Finishing it was politeness."

Grin I've just remembered this line again. One of the funniest lines ever written for anything ever.

RustyLeaf · 29/09/2017 16:47

Interesting the car running over thing - didn't her parents die in a car crash ... The bit where he's locked outside his own house at the end reminded me a little of Burt Lancaster at the end of the brilliant film The Swimmer.

However, Dr Foster series got increasingly sordid to be honest, and in the end I found it all quite ridiculous and distasteful esp. the sex scenes / talk. Also, the way the teenage boy is going downhill is esp. upsetting to watch.

Still, I found her character interesting at least to begin with (I wrote more in comments on Relationships Dr Foster thread). The actress so watchable somehow. I felt her character was presented in a sympathetic light at least to begin with - someone going through shocking trauma but somehow managing to hold it together. The car boot discovery was utterly gripping! And there are some interesting patches and plot twists. Finally, her neighbour opposite, the actor unspeakably handsome.

But I'll be glad when its over.

DH and I nearly missed ourselves at "thai food was our thing"
We're having fish'n'chips tonight, should I worry that he also liked fish n chips when he was with his ex?

Who DOESNT like thai food?

RustyLeaf · 29/09/2017 16:56

yeah all that stuff - thai food was our "thing", skinny jeans were his "thing" was all a bit unconvincing!

Cagliostro · 29/09/2017 17:00

I thought the "what Simon told Tom" thing had been covered - they seemed to be talking about that last episode (outside the fancy house I think, just before they both rushed off to get to Tom at the end) and that was when Simon repeated that he'd told Tom that the only way he'd leave town was in a coffin. Hence Tom being super panicked when Gemma told him he was leaving. So he told him that to manipulate him. I thought that was the big reveal but maybe I misunderstood.

JamOrCreamFirst · 29/09/2017 18:33

Missed that completely Cag.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/09/2017 19:53

SIMON did seem Confused /puzzled when Kate said all the things gemma did

Were they lies? Thai ? Pictures? First dance /son during sex

intimeandspace · 29/09/2017 22:44

Glad to see a few grafters and hard corers are still plugging the gap twixt last Tues and the finale. I, sad bastard I am, am RE-watching the last episode for more clues.
So far I can offer you no enlightenment except to observe that Simon is UGLY AS SIN -and who in their right mind would even give him directions, let alone DTFD with him!n aaaaaaarrrrggfhh

intimeandspace · 29/09/2017 22:45

You'd need a scrub down with a wire bush and Dettol

EnidButton · 29/09/2017 22:59

He had nice forearms in the washing up scene.

intimeandspace · 29/09/2017 23:01

"Finishing it was politeness". Best line ever invented you"ll hopefully never suffer again. "You"ll sleep in the spare room tonight" ..give me a pound, etc.

intimeandspace · 29/09/2017 23:01

Tom in the bath. Enough to rent you in two

intimeandspace · 29/09/2017 23:04

Imagine the dating profile for Simon, Enidbutton. " 6 foot, (liar) solvent (liar) OHA. ( ok, car) , nice forearms when washing up 👨🏼‍🍳

Emilybrontescorsett · 30/09/2017 00:06

I've just watched the last episode on catch up.
It's all a bit ott.
Simon is a huge test though and part of me hopes he's left unable to walk or speak again but still alive.

TheCraicDealer · 30/09/2017 00:25

Just caught up on all four episodes this evening. Made it more bearable to watch as I saw in the papers this week about “Simon finally getting his just desserts” so I was looking forward to E4.

Can’t wait to see what this secret Simon told Tom is. Agree with a P.P. that it might be about her not wanting him initially or something, but it’ll be interesting anyway. If they do something crap like, “remember that hamster we all thought had run away? Well your mum hoovered it up” then I’ll be annoyed. Hopefully though Simon will try to use it against Gemma and then Tom will be like “meh, I’m over it, now run along.”

I’m struggling to see the point in Roz this season tbh. Re. the bra wearing, i think they want to show her as quite a sexually driven woman and you can’t really hide boobs under a sheet when she’s bending over something or bouncing up and down on someone. So if she doesn’t want to get them out or it would impact the rating then she has to keep it on. Luckily hers are rather nicer than my natty nude efforts.

raspberrysuicide · 30/09/2017 00:35

I thought that the big secret was that Gemma had killed Simon's mum (Tom's grandma) and that Simon told Tom his mum was a murderer.
Did I imagine that ?

NikiBabe · 30/09/2017 01:10

Gemma really didnt kill Simons mum though. I think it will be something fairly innocuous like Simon telling him she fucked Neil.

DurhamDurham · 30/09/2017 07:44

I think it's going to have a ridiculous ending and that they're going to get back together again.

chicaguapa · 30/09/2017 07:50

A word of caution for everyone waiting for the big reveal of what Simon told Tom about Gemma. Gemma's big reveal to Kate and her parents was that she'd had sex with Simon the week before. The big reveal of Gemma's present to Kate was the words from the wedding speech. So it's definitely going to be an anti-climax.

The whole programme is a nonsense. The bit that made me give up was when she turned Tom's light off in the hotel, told him she'd be next door if he needed her, then went home to find a photo when everything else she could have told Kate in the hotel lobby, including the wedding speech bit.

Lottapianos · 30/09/2017 07:57

My DP hasn't been watching this but caught a clip of it on Gogglebox last night. His comment - 'Why are they all queuing up to shag him when he looks like the back of a bus?' - made me think of you lot Grin
