This has veered way too far into ridiculousness now. How does he know where Vanessa lives? How did he get in to plant the drugs? How the fuck have there been no reports of a serial rapist breaking into houses in the area?

It would have been a good drama if they had just kept it more realistic- ie a seemingly nice, respectable doctor who turns out to be a rapist who can't accept the word no. But turning him into a housebreaker who spikes policewomen's drinks in advance just seems ludicrous.

I'm actually really disappointed with this now. I thought it might turn into a decent attempt at portraying date rape and the problems with conviction etc. But him breaking in to the detective's house having drugged her, then raping her is stupid.

Yes, it doesn't fit at all. It undermines a very important message which is that rapists can be charming and polite and just ordinary blokes. Now they are making him into psycho stalker serial killer guy for whatever reason.

The writer has taken it to the extreme. Are we to believe Andrew has previously drugged and raped women he dated and now has taken it further by breaking into the home of a woman who knocked him back?

I think the hotel guy is nice. He has realised he was over the top and backed off completely
