I'm sure there are many planning to watch this tonight but I can't see a thread, apologies if there is one.

Looks promising with good acting stock. I'm already worried about the implications for real life reporting and conviction rates if the female is lying. Got a feeling it won't be that black and white though.

It's so annoying though. We were only shown him being nice. I hate feeling manipulated. It's such lazy storytellingAngry

calzone · 25/09/2017 22:00

I can't believe it.

I honestly thought she was bonkers.

Mumof41987 · 25/09/2017 22:01

Arghhhhh so frustrating ! Obviously another series to follow !

southeastdweller · 25/09/2017 22:02

Of course it was him who was lying. It was never going to be her.

STRONGandSTABLE · 25/09/2017 22:02

He deffo did it! Didn't he?

cliffdiver · 25/09/2017 22:03

Noeuf I think Laura said in a previous episode that she noticed when she went back into the lounge he was drinking from her glass... so I guess he switched them?

I think they'll be a twist too, but he is very very predatory.

Whatshouldmyusernamebe · 25/09/2017 22:03

I stopped watching at half 9. What happened?

STRONGandSTABLE · 25/09/2017 22:04

And we will discover he murdered his wife .....

Openup41 · 25/09/2017 22:05

My goodness!!

How creepy was he when speaking to the detective? So pushy and does not like being told no.

He played the part well.

Norugratsatall · 25/09/2017 22:06

Another series?! So we have to wait then for this to be wrapped up?! Jesus...I'll lose interest.

WishingCarrot · 25/09/2017 22:07

All along I liked him and was on his side.

But the scene with the detective outside his house gave me the shivers! Very predatory.

FlowerTink · 25/09/2017 22:07

That episode was just creepy! Especially where he invited the detective in for a drink and didn't want to take no for an answer. I hope we find out what really happened with his wife

SouthWestmom · 25/09/2017 22:17

Oh thanks cliff.

To be fair you'd have to be very brace to do a TV show where the woman was lying.

SouthWestmom · 25/09/2017 22:17

brave

ohfourfoxache · 25/09/2017 22:50

It's very interesting how so many of us didn't think he could do it, how there must be a 3rd party involved etc.

Perhaps it just goes to show the extent to which people cannot be trusted. Quite sad really.

I'm not saying that the series is anything like RL btw, just that it's an interesting comment on reality

TheweewitchRoz · 25/09/2017 22:51

I completely agree southeast, can't believe anyone ever thought otherwise. He was absolutely the liar all along.

Think it'll now be a cat & mouse game of him terrorising her to get his revenge as well as the question of whether he killed his wife or not.

What I don't get is his (or anyone's) motivation in this circumstance? Is it power & control or being a psychopath? He is a good looking bloke with a great job, so surely would have plenty of opportunities with women (without rape).

Alittlepotofrosie · 25/09/2017 22:51

I had a shiver too when he invited the detective in for a drink. And at the end with the bunny on the chair. But how did he get in?

Openup41 · 25/09/2017 22:57

ohfourfox His mannerism, appearance, career and status made us believe he is was a nice guy.

Shows how much we look on the outside.

eddiemairswife · 25/09/2017 23:01

How old was the pregnant girl supposed to be? She looked about 12. Also, is there any point to the pregnancy story?

Openup41 · 25/09/2017 23:04

I too thought he could get near enough anyone he wanted. I recall the sister said something along the lines of women would give their arm or leg to date him.

It is definitely control. He did not want a relationship just sex. He did not want to wait so just took it.

So

Openup41 · 25/09/2017 23:06

eddoesmair Were they trying to bring to light the son's lifestyle? Did his dad even know he was dating anyone?

MargotLovedTom1 · 25/09/2017 23:50

There's something going on with the sister though - she was coming across really shiftily when talking with Laura in the pub.

TheweewitchRoz · 26/09/2017 00:00

Putting it that way Open, I can see that, thanks - he wanted it & didn't want to wait, so took it. He will definitely have killed his wife.

GColdtimer · 26/09/2017 00:01

Margot she was worried andrew had spilled the beans about her affair with Tom. That's why she wants Laura to stay away.

WalkingInMyShoes · 26/09/2017 00:02

So that's why he switched glasses in episode 1! Because she'd taken the wrong glass. He did it for sure. How many more episodes left?
