There have been a few cases where it was alleged that insulin was used to date rape. It would drop the blood sugar rapidly incapacitating and disorienting the victim. No convictions as yet but then we all know how hard it is to get a rape conviction and of course the reason these creeps use drugs is not just to incapacitate the victim but to render them as seen as unreliable witnesses. As a surgeon he would of course be an expert in administering drugs plus he may not always have been a surgeon
What I thought was telling was he said 'she never told me to stop' so I wonder if the writers are partially writing a treatise on consent and that most rapists don't consider themselves rapists because rather than seeking consent, they only would stop if NON consent slaps them in the face!
although if he did drug her he really should KNOW he's a rapist.
There's also a phenomenon known as 're-victimisation' - someone who has been a victim of rape/sexual assault ONCE is MORE likely to be a victim again. There are clues that someone has been a victim before in their body language, tone of voice, even their scent.
I've seen this referenced in several ways. Rose and Fred wests victims there was an imbalance in how many were already previous victims of csa, a high preponderance of runaways who ran due to csa are the ones most vulnerable to sexual exploitation, in fiction on law & order svu and unforgotten.
Unfortunately I have experienced this myself and know others that have too. Sadly it tends to reinforce the idea that there's 'something about me' that makes us vulnerable to these pricks.
Just because a victim makes more than one allegation doesn't mean they're lying.
As for 'he's so calm' well date rapists have to be don't they? Plus charming, affable, approachable... Otherwise they'd never get near a victim.
If he killed his wife I suspect it was because she had evidence.
