I'm in denial that it is nearly September.

I am looking forward to Flushing Meadows. I feels like ages ages since I was able to 'watch' any tennis.

Maybe I'm pushing it with 'common knowledge' Maybe 'well informed tennis world gossip' would be better 😀

I've just seen an ad for this film. I'll have to go and see it.

jane yes I’d like to see that film too. I also wanted to see the Borg/McEnroe film that was out a few months ago but didn’t get round to it.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a tennis film before - not even “Wimbledon” so it’s s bit of a novelty having two out in the space of a few months.

Well, that was a strange one. Roger spent most of that match appearing to be livid with himself. Cilic really missed an opportunity there.
Tonight should be a cracker. I still think Zverev could get to the final if he plays to his capacity but Sock has nothing to lose and everything to gain so I expect him to go for it.

Davis Cup final next week, and then no tennis for a while 😕

Due to the school run and yet another meeting I missed must of it. I would have liked Marin to win it, even if it was dead rubber.

I agree Sock has nothing to lose. But I really want Zverev to win. But I'm torn, because presumably as the second in the group he will play Grigor in the semis.
And I think ( as the week goes in) that Dimitrov is getting better, and probably stands the best chance if it is ( probably) Roger in the final.

I'm watching the scores online- close-ish first set, but Sascha seems to be in control of the second.

Just put it on now. Should be a good final set.

But Goffin isn't out yet. I remember him playing last year (as the alternate) but couldn't remember why. But Castle mentioned before that Monfils pulled out injured during it.

Lend and Murray have split. To be honest, I'm a bit surprised it didn't happen sooner. Lendl isn't the 'hanging around doing nothing' sort of guy.

Wasn't really shocked to see the score line in the Dimitrov match last night.

I'm hoping the semis are competitive. It's shaping up to be a bit of a disappointment really, this tournament. ( of course Federer fans probably think differently).

It's funny,earlier in the season, on a few of the forums I read, it was mostly Roger fans moaning about the US open result, because Rafa ended up in a one sided final.(you can only play the opponents that get to your matches, but they ignored that).
But I'm sure they won't be moaning if Roger meets Jack Sock tomorrow...
