Just popping in before bed (v early start tomorrow) to say how much I have enjoyed Wimbledon this year & greatly enhanced by all of you motley crew!

Sue I really don't know. I'm sure there is a physical problem of some sort, but really, I think it's mainly mental. And whatever started to unravel for him personally over the last year, he's not been able to address it. Sacking most of the people who have been with you for ages is extreme. And yes, the rumours...

And I do think he wants to be liked as much as the others, and I'm sure has loads of fans, but will they stick around for the time it takes for him to sort himself out (the way Rafa fans did after his crisis in 2014/rubbish 2015). I'm not sure.

Just back from the Final, it was thrilling, and catching up online. Wow there are some Anti Fed comments on this thread, seems like Nadal fans rule here!

Fed's twin boys are Lennart and Leo. Lenny is a diminutive of Lennart but Leo is not short for Leonard in this context.
I thought Roger's speech was beautiful, he is friendly with Marin and very respectful.
Going to watch my recording now, to see if Mirka's dress is as bad in close up as it looked from my seat! 😀 Someone up thread said she has her own style and that is very true. She looked amazing in green earlier this week but that meringue today made her look twice as large as she really is. She is a stunner though with the most beautiful face and hair and that whole family could be a Ralph Lauren ad 😀

Well, I'm home! Much quicker than I'd hoped, but it was a great day out. Quite emotional.

You could feel the crowd change - they were right behind Federer, but as Cilic was obviously struggling, the everyone started to will him on. Federer actually looked as though he eased off a bit too.

Anyway, good experience. DS can't quite believe that we were there. I've just put him to bed, and he said "we saw Federer win Wimbledon, that's amazing", which is all you want really.

I'm having my last Pimms of the year (probably, as I usually just drink it during Wimbledon) and watching the highlights show. I think Blue Monday has already set in. Oh well, only 50 more weeks to go..

Yes raahh I'm hoping for a good hard court season from Rafa - it's good that he's not got any major injuries - I think that's why he was so gutted about losing to muller.

For the the first time for a few years he's not been injured and after the French open he probably thought this was his best chance - oh well there's always next year.

It's quite sunny this morning in Manchester, but I'm gearing myself up to not knowing what to do with myself when it's time to watch the coverage from 11.30. This is the only period of the year (from around Barcelona (Eurosport permitting) to now) that I get almost non-stop tennis. Then, lack of Sky, and time zones , put an end to that. I'm hoping I see the US open.

Pity there is no Olympics this year .

Still annoyed I was robbed of the final titles music by Coldplay- but don't know if I want to watch my recorded Today at Wimbledon from last night, might make me sad.
I hope Marin soaked his feet.

Will have to start decluttering to take my mind off the lack of tennis and make up for my slovenly for night. I can't believe they didn't play the music either.

I watched the end of TAW. Interesting discussion about how dominant Rafa/Rog have been since January, after both missing the end of last year, and how no-one , least of all them, predicted it. Which was what I said .

And they still ended on Coldplay.

Gutted.

My plan re JI. There was a prog on the BBC called Witless, a comedy where 2 women witness a murder (I think) and have to go into witness protection (funnier than it sounds). They actually got JI to appear on it, doing an infomercial/guide type thing to witness protection. He was actually quite good, much as I hate to say it. So, the plan is, tell him that they need him for the next series, get him to turn up and then actually put him into witness protection so he can't contact anyone from his former life. Job done.

I am easing myself into real life, by catching up on the crap tv I recorded whilst watching tennis and haven't watched yet.

And ignoring housework for just a bit longer.Dh is away with work for 3 days. The dc are used to me by now. And I'm sure they will be happy to share dog kibble for tea ?

Actually, despite everything, I still did Sunday dinner yesterday, which considering it was final's day, I think was very good of me .

Feel a bit better for listening to the theme tune thanks Raahh. I jwatched the end of today at Wimbledon last night and was gutted that they played Coldplay.

Stan was funny- his strawberries! Wish he'd done better at the Championships. Hope the hard court season is better for him. I doubt he will ever smarten up , though
